Small smattering of SFOs

SFOs.jpg

a while back I requested a comparison photo of the wharncliffe blades of the 47 and 74, now I have both, I can fulfill my own request, it is perhaps not so clear here, but you the 74 is only a couple of mm shorter than the 47, even though there should be a lot more room for the bigger blade in the swayback pattern:

That is one gorgeous collection! I think I know what's what, except for that Micarta Bullnose. Please tell, was that a SFO from Mike L? A custom? What is the color/material?

Hey Scott thanks, you are correct the Bullnose was a SFO from Mike. It is OD Green canvas micarta.

Thanks Trand!;)

I'm very keen on them but I need to get more of the carbon ones, Red Apple,White Bone, I believe there is a micarta one too. It's a really credible carry without bulk. Gives my White Owls plenty to think about...:D:D

Regards, Will.

Yep, Red Apple, White Bone, and Smooth Goldenrod Micarta (yellow-orange in color) were all offered. I've had them in my cart too after they were released but never completed the order. Sometimes I still look back and kick myself for not having done so. I think I had reasoned that I'd be using my Tortoise Shell Acrylic one so I didn't need the others? - I just looked in my spreadsheet and it looks like I had also bought 3 custom slipjoints at that time or just before... That probably influenced my decision too.

Holiday shots: "fraternal twins" (22 & 33, both in ebony) to be handed down to my fraternal twins:

That's what it's all about! Great pics and a great sentiment!

Beautiful knives and beautiful family photo, plk7. Hope you're almost out of the diaper changing phase, or headed that way. I'm a little envious of both the knives and the kids, but I would not turn back the clock... Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the kinds words, Gary, P, willgoy, and Dr. Scott! Happy holidays to each of you.

willgoy & P: I carry the 22, while the 33 is put away (carried briefly, but barely used - basically mint). The plan, which is subject to change, is to give the 33 to my son the 22 to my daughter. My son will also get my watch, so he'll have something that I "carried" regularly.

Dr. Scott: They'e almost 2-and-a-half; the transition away diapers is underway (and not pretty!).

Already thinking about picking something up for my new nephew. Maybe a 25, as P's thread has recently kindled my interest.

I've got fraternal twin boys. I have have two of most of my "good" knives. I've been scouting for two of a kind to jump out at me from GEC for them. That's a beautiful pair, both the kids and the knives. Good call on who gets the whittler, too!

Thank you! As a suggestion, you could maybe get a pattern with two different blade configuration - for example, 92 single blades: one spear and one wharncliffe.

Don't want to derail things too much, so let me say that I've really enjoyed the photos in this thread - it's evident that folks put some thought/effort into their compositions.
