Camel Bone? Isn't that a Elk Horn?

That's what mine came with. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and the COA that came with it says 425M and the date stamp confirms that.

One of the 532's is giraffe bone, the two 112's are Elk or Ram's Horn, not camel.

Wow, the 301 is back up. It was not there yesterday, but now it is back. I was wondering if the Mammoth Tooth scales are on both side of the knife or just one side. Does anyone know?

There are so many to choose from, I don't have a 118 (it looks great), the 500 is a great knife (I have one custom 500 already), now with this one has 440C, the 112 (both of them are great), and they are in 440C. The 110 is different, with the serrated blade. The 532 looks interesting, I have a 535 and it is my favorite Buck knife.

I remember a few years ago, Buck had some nice specials and this group told me about them. They were nice, but most of them were high tech, I bought a Buck/Strider. This time they have so many nice traditonal knives. So many to choose from and next week is the blade show, what is a true knife nut to do???

It's a great knife, but the one I got from there, and I believe someone elses are 425M, not 440C.

I was getting way to excited about a camel bone 112.....but it seems like a good idea tho..I paid more for my Ram/Elk 112 when they first come out.At 50.00 THAT is a deal!

Last year about this time is the first time I saw a 500. It was at the Buck annual meeting at the blade show at the auction. I do think that knife with waterbuffalo horn is a super buy, whether it is 440C or 425M.

Here is a picture of the 500 I got last year, plus a David Yellow Horse trapper I got in 96, it only has only side with the inlays, the other side is brown wood. The third knife is another knife I bought at the Buck auction.

To be honest I like almost all the knives they have on the web specials page.

You Guys are such a bad influence

. But, at these prices, who can pass them up. I now have an Elk 112, Buff 500, and the Eagle Sirus on the way. I have wanted that Egale Sirus and at $30 can't pass it up. Wow, it feels like Xmas in may!

I know what you mean. I can't look at the page without ordering another couple knives. Two of my four orders were shipped yesterday and I was surprised they are coming from Spokane, Wa. I figured they would ship from Post Falls.

I just did about the same order. I don't have many high tech Bucks, but I have looked at the Eagle Sirus before and figure I would get it. The Elk 112 and Buff 500 also looked great and I got those. I also decided on the mammoth tooth 301. I bought the blade forum knife in the traditional secton about 2 years ago that had mammoth ivory, though it wasn't a Buck, I like the knife. I am sure the 301 will be a great knife.

I also wanted the 118, but, well enough is enough.... maybe......

edit: One more thing, thank you so much "duck57" for the heads up on these specials.

so the buff 500 is 425m for sure? any noticeable difference with that over 440c/420hc?

I can't say about all of them, but at least mine and one other I heard about were 425M. As far as the differences, check this thread.:thumbup:

I might have to get a second elk horn....$50.00 !!!!!!!! Many sold at $85.00 to $115.00...I love the 'feel' of the Ram's horn better,but,the Elk has a LOT of upside..

I just got the shipping notification today saying it shipped on 5/22 but will take to 6/02 to get here via UPS !!! What are they sending on a guy with a UPS bike ?!?!?! SMKW has free shipping too, but you get it in 3 - 5 days not over 10?

Think of it like traveling on Greyhound, maybe they make lots of stops.
Actually, it just the marketing guys at UPS making it painful so you'll pay extra for speed.

You should have used the free Priority Mail option. I never, ever use UPS if there is an option just because of the speed (or lack there of).:thumbdn: Plus they are more expensive, at least for knife size items and don't deliver on Saturdays.

I was excited when I read this. I have a few knives I may want to buy, not much but that shipping can really add up. Just to let you know, it is free shipping if you get over a $100 order. They have had free shipping on any order, but for firght now it is $100 oder. If you buy a $50 knife, it will cost you $12.04, which is kind of a bummer.

I've ordered stuff from SMKW and got the free shipping (over $100) but it took about two weeks to get the package shipped UPS. I don't think they offer the option of USPS. One of my orders from Buck (free Priority Mail) was shipped on the 21st and I expect it next Tuesday the 26th (would have been Monday but for the holiday). A lot quicker than UPS considering the Sunday and holiday involved.

Tom, It might have to do with your location also. I got my shipping notifications also from UPS, however, mine are 5 days(5-21.....delivered on 5/26), not 10 as yours were. I live in Az, you in NY. It also appears they are coming from Oregon. I also am not sure if UPS works on Memorial day or not, so that could also be another reason for delay. I was just soooo frickin stoked about the prices and free shipping, if I would have had to wait for 10 days.......so be it.

I did not realize I could have gotten free shipping with USPS too !! Oh well.....The prices are great and I already have about 75 Bucks around here to cut what needs to be cut before they arrive...lol...Thanks for the feed back...
