Insurance would not matter. Once they scan it as delivered, they consider their insurance done. Been there done that.

I am sorry to hear that the box was broken into and the knife was stolen.

We have never had trouble with a knife being pilfered from the US postal service, nor have we had problems with our packaging.

If i nay suggest something, since the thieves know the OP gets parcels on his door step, maybe ship it so it REQUIRES the OP's signature, or get it held att eh Post Office for pickup.....

See customer service goes a long way. If enough of us buy our next knife from NSF it will offset the cost of replacing the Rat. That is the proper type of spreading the wealth around... :D

That blows man. I think the practice of cutting off a thief's hand has merit. However leave it to Derrick to make it right. :thumbup: Just bought a RC-3 sheath from him and could not be happier. Now I just need the RC-3! (Using a RAT-3 right now)

sorry about the lost knife mate, maybe you should leave a nice rat trap in the mail box next time so when the bugger reaches in to steal something he'll get a "snappy" surprise :D

Amazing customer service. I will make it a point to send my business Derrick's way next time I can.

As for the lost knife, it was actually stolen - as opposed to somehow misplaced during the mysterious shipping process - I pity the thief. See, it's my theory that one incurs an extra special karmic deficit when they steal a knife. Knives, being one of the original tools, have had time to acquire all sorts of superstitions. I still ask for a coin when I give someone a knife. Just doesn't feel right otherwise. So, if someone did pilfer that knife, they are in for a serious bout of bad luck (just like the bastard who stole my hunting knife and sheath out of the toolbox in my shop and didn't even have the common courtesy to close the lid when he was done).

I know "Knives Ship Free" are a favorite of some because they are friends of the owners or they like the service.

However, I do not find their prices good - even when you include shipping. And considering they ship with the US Postal service; that makes the price even worse..

I recently did business with a on line store that has gotten a bad review on this board and yet they shipped a $25 in a box with packing material so it didn't move around.

I hope you get your money back or another knife.

As was said, to each their own and that's why we have multiple choices in our system - free market.

But, from my opinion, jumping into a thread and bashing KSF's prices is poor taste. If you don't want to buy there, don't but don't bash Derrick in public forum before he gets a chance and especially when he replies like this:

All my RC products have come from KSF and I will continue to do business with KSF and look at his site quite a bit for blades first.

Stormstaff, I'm sorry some low-life did this to you but I think this speaks volumes of Derrick and KnivesShipFree and their service.

Derrick, if this is going to come out of your pocket I would be willing to donate a few bucks to help offset the cost. I waited on the RC-6 since they went up for pre-order and I got one of the first ones you received in and that RC shipped. You have treated me 1st rate on all my purchases and I'll chip in if needed!

Damn, that pisses me off!

Derrick is an awesome guy, he's helped me out in the past when I was broke. Let me know if we set something up to help fund the new knife.

Holy crap!! I didn't see this coming that's for sure. Give me a few days and I'll see if I can get a PO box set up or something.

You can see where someone used a finger to tear the envelope open and the carrier is the same carrier that's been in the area forever with a good rep.

AND on top of that there's folks offering to kick in on another knife too? I've seen this done before but hell, I'm one of the new guys around here. You folks are too good!! God bless you all!
 
I have done alot of deals with Derrick and I have never had an issue with packing or shipping or prices....to each there own but I too have a po box just for shipping purposes

That says it all for my experience with Derrick and Wendy as well.:thumbup:
 
Wow. I knew KSF's customer service was amazing, but I didn't realize how amazing. You guys have had and will continue to have all of my business.
