154 is the new steel, but there is another secret and coated steel yet to be revealed.

Guy mentioned the secret steel is ~1% carbon and that it's going to be a less expensive option... I'm guessing 1095.

Well that is mildly terrifying. Now I understand how people start ordering before I have a chance to get the newsletter out.

Have I mentioned that I don't like electronics and have mild paranoia regarding the internet? Googling things like, "rss alerts" does not help.

As soon as we start seeing GSO-4.7 handles we will get some of the steel testing knives out in the world. Then it is just a matter of getting feedback.

With the tester knives it doesn't feel like work because we are so excited to see what people think of them. They have already been coated by a local company and Guy is planning to just sharpen them while working on the GSO-4.7 preorders. We are hoping to have some feedback by the time GSO-4.7 presale orders have finished shipping.

Don't worry, we are planning to have a Christmas. Just not a weekend before Christmas. :D

That's good to hear. Constantly being occupied with the same task day in day out can really put a toll on people and cause them to lose interest.

On a side note, I'm way more excited to see how this mystery steel 4.7 works out over the cpm-154!

I feel like I don't say this enough, but we love ya around here, sister. After seeing this update I had to breathe into a paper bag for a bit :)

I'll have my 4.7 NEXT month........ I can't stop thinking that to myself. Wow. Next month. Wow. :D :D :D
