I prefer the size of the 4.7 over the 4.1
It has extra reach that can come in handy while batoning
Overall I tend to use my 5-6 inch blades more than the 4 inch ones
 
I wasn't wild about the feel of G10. I ordered Linen for my Necker II and I like it much better.

These come up for sale 4 days before Christmas? I think that is the reason they have all 3 steels left. I couldn't help myself and I ordered 2, both in 3V. :)

Holy Moly, did I cut it close! No more 4.7 ordering just minutes after I got my order in.

Edit: I made a mistake. It looks like they are still taking orders.

i tried to get a 5.1 last year and before i could hit buy button they sold out on me literally wile i was picking handle colors:confused: i was devastated laid on the floor kicking and screaming . lol but it seems i might just like this 4.7 better yet
 
Lol. I immediately checked. I'm hoping Santa throws money instead of coal in my stocking this year. I'd like a shot at some S! CPM 154. I'm hoping they have it in some other models down the pipe.
 
I chose 20vc but thought hard about that 154 offering my sk5 was a nice blade till i gave i to my brother ..lol
 
Admit it. Its still a nice blade its just not in your hands no more. I handed off a necker but I felt obligated to pass on the goodness. Still wish I'd kept them both, but I feel good knowing I gave a great buddy (might as well be my brother) an awesome blade he uses and carries daily just the same as me.
 
Exactly... i loved that knife i did a custom stone wash on it it looks sick ..but i wanted him to have a good blade on him he was going elk hunting in CO all he had was a 20 dollar wally world special and it was his birthday . but over the years i have always given away knifes . they are the best gift you can give in my book it just might save there lives .. ok a long story ill shorten up .... i gave the god father of my children a knife for his birth day he was a Army Ranger a month later he was helping a friend get squared away on a ship as he was being deployed .and he wandered off the beaten path goofing off and a big roll of cargo netting ended up rolling over his foot completely spinning his ankle around 360 degrees ripping it wide open and there was no one around ..so he had to cut himself free and crawl he said about a 60 yards where someone could hear his screams ... man it was nasty screws plates glue it took 6 lbs of shit to put his ankle back together he called me and told me thank you for that knife who knows how long i would have laid there ... so now he tells me do not get him anymore knifes he said it brought him bad luck lol... i beg to differ .. sorry so long i tried to shorten it as much as possible
 
Great story maniac. I feel its a necessity to carry at least one to three blades a day. This week I had to leave the GEC ek at home. Brought my trusty slim line trapper and necker for a trip to the bayou this week.
 
How are the 4.7 presales not sold out yet? This is supposed to be a smaller release set to deliver next month and they're still available in all 3 steels after a few days? To me this says a lot about the progress Guy and Ellie are making. Way to go SURVIVE! !!!

Once the "First Friday" email goes out, they will sell out... That's my guess. I only know about the pre-sale because of this forum. I just don't think it's widely known yet. We shall see...

That does not diminish the perception of the hard work from Guy and Ellie. I want to make that clear.

Oh that is a good point. There was a newsletter when the 5.1 presale went live, right? I know someone shared the news in the Facebook fan group. It pays to be here :D

I'm trying so hard to wait until I have all my current orders in my hands before I start doubling up on models. This presale sure is making that hard to stick to!

I doubled down on the 4.7. My first order was #4747... How ironic is that? It's a sign.
 
well i am no knife guru but looking at this 4.7 model seems to have Everything one would need and nothing you would miss ...not to hot ..not to cold just right center line tip and o0o0o that palm swell
