Gso-4.7

I am new to the S!K order process. At this point, having started receiving handles, approximately how long until it is possible to order a 4.7 from their site? When they do become available, do they go so fast that you have to be quick and jump on them the day they are released? Or do they make enough where I could check back in a week or so and still find one available?

They're still getting 5.1 pre-orders out and then they'll do the 4.7 pre-orders so I'd guess it'll be a month or so yet. As far as how quickly they sell out it's hard to say. They said they did a lot of extras to be able to try and keep up with demand a bit more. I think the new process of only selling what's been sharpened will help you out though as it should make a particular model available week after week. Just pay attention to the newsletter and the forums

My guess is they might be available about 6 weeks from now. If I were you I would be very quick to purchase. These new models and upgrades to current models have generated a TON of buzz. There have been more new people popping into the forum then ever before and many don't have a single S!K yet!!

I'm one of those guys unfortunately. (Not having one yet, that is!) I first discovered Survive! knives on the fixed blade exchange, where they would always sell immediately. That got me wondering what the big deal was. Man, am I impressed!
Not only with the design, but the steel choices, and the customer service/communications/forum involvement impresses me tremendously. I bit the bullet and ordered a 5.1 in early December.
Been checking the sight daily for the status to hopefully change from "Awaiting Fulfillment"
Decided to wait on the 4.7 until I get the 5.1 in hand. Hopefully they will have 4.7's in stock by that point.
 
The 5.1 is my personal favorite. You cant go wrong with it.
 
Love the 5.1. Its such a versatile blade. I wish I had got a new one but there's only so many blades at a time the wallet can handle. Lol. But hell the bright side is I'm gonna end up with several other sizes.

Yep, raising my hand right here. 4.1 and 7/7 on preorder, 4.7 and 5.1 pre-sale. When I discovered them, I fell in a big way. If I don't like one of them, I'm fairly certain that I can turn it over without a huge loss. It is worth that risk to me, with the design of these blades, and what I read and see about them.
 
For the past year or two I have been experimenting with knives from a couple of well respected, semi-custom knife makers but the anticipation for the 4.7, 5.1 and 7/7 I have on order is on a different level. I am betting the S!K offerings will outshine what I already have. I can't wait to put the blades to the test here in the great Northwest.

Time...going...too........slowly. Gray hair...multiplying....
 
Just a bump to say that I am patiently, yet eagerly waiting for my 4.7. Hopefully, that special little email will pop up in my inbox really soon letting me know that my new acquisition is on its way to its new home.

My feelings exactly! I'm watching the 5.1 progress closely and waiting for those to finish up so they can focus on the good stuff :D
 
I like the way you guys think! The 4.7 was nice enough to let it's ugly sister go first!

haha i was 100% in the anti choil camp until i got a different knife with one...not 100% sold but I figure since the 5.1 dropped first, might as well... I'm really excited to see how all the new designs look in the flesh, so far they have all surpassed my expectations!
