The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
6 minutes. Maximum. That the 3V was available. My computer had a burp as I was trying to check out with one in my cart. Thanks to my computer, I lost it. ARRRRRRGHHHHH!!!! I HATE PC Laptops!!!
And when I went back and checked for 20CV, that was gone too!
What did they have?! Like 2 of each blade? This is as bad as a Gaaanza!
I can respect that. My guess is it would take too much time to go through the order books and communicate with each customer. Disregard my post. I wish you guys well.
I'm not sure I like seeing seconds hit before pre-orders are filled. I'm surprised and somewhat disappointed.

Does this mean those who just got on Monday sale will have theirs before those of us who are waiting for months already?

I mentioned something similar in another post. I'd like to think that if we invested in the company a year ago that we'd be first in line, BUT I thought Ellie said somewhere that the very few that were sold today were found to be factory seconds AFTER they were sharpened.
Same thing happened on the 5.1's. Seconds were going out before some of the earlier orders for firsts were delivered, one of them being my presale order in December (not a gripe, that's just what happened). And while I was really envious of all the seconds being received because I couldn't get in on the action, they physically could not fill my order for a first because of the blemishes. They just didn't have a first quality blade there to fulfill my order. I'm right there with you guys, I've got a 4.7 first on order, but IMO the show must go on, so to speak, and any knife that can be built should be built. We're not going to get our firsts any faster if they hold the seconds, at least that's how I understand it, subject to correction![]()
Great perspective HK! I'm just excited that we're all that much closer to receiving these beauties. It's going to be tough for me to beat the 4.7 considering Guy won't let them go unless they're absolutely perfect! Every factory second I've owned from them was better than anything I've received from other big name companies.
Before ya'll give me the stink eye, I have a 7/7 and 12 ordered over a year ago and will be well over a year before I see.. So you can rest assured it's going to a good home and someone that has paid thier dues..![]()

Valid point and I totally agree. The benefit of the doubt is in order, certainly. I wholeheartedly agree that second-buyers should be second in line. If I preordered a car, and then found out the same model I ordered was totaled due to an accident at the factory, but that the company issued a salvaged title and sold the car anyway, I would expect to receive mine first. Maybe the example is extreme, but the principle holds true.
And, maybe the seconds won't ship first. Then we'll be listening to guys griping they didn't receive their shipping notice, yet.
LOL, all in stride, I suppose. You can make some of the people happy some of the time, and all of the people happy... Never.

Has it really been a year since the pre orders ?
Time flies
There were not very many. These were just factory 2nds we have come across as Guy is working on preorders and presale orders. Once they've been that far it is easier to just get them out of the shop so that they don't sit around collecting dust and confusing us as to what they are.
Isn't that the truth! In fact every knife which I have ever had that I received in perfect condition came from a smaller knife maker. Every ESEE, TOPS and even Fallkniven I bought, came with a minor yet noticeable flaw which was sold to me as a factory first! I gave up on the likes of Ontario and Cold Steel a looong time ago!
Very true. Quality definitely shows when builders are more hands on with their company. Sense of pride doesn't seem to exist with these companies that stamp out 1000's of knives a year.
Without getting in to specifics, I just wanted to say that we do send out 1000's of knives a year.
