The 6 is (i think) about .25" longer than the 5.1 and has no choil. Besides that there is no real difference. And practically there shouldnt be any performance difference either really.
It really comes down to choil or no choil
with the new handle And delta heat treat I have no idea how the new spec gso 6 can be improved
It may be the ultimate midsize knife
Maybe softer jimping for my dainty thumbswith the new handle And delta heat treat I have no idea how the new spec gso 6 can be improved
It may be the ultimate midsize knife
Uh huh, yeah, ok, have fun cutting your index finger offGo with the 5.1 because choil's are cool and these choil haters are crazy [emoji2]
Seriously though I like the way the choil looks but jamtga has an awesome rig up there so I can't argue with that. I think it really does come down to your personal preference... If you, like me, think choils are cool, then there you go. They'll both do the same jobs like a boss
You're right! That's not very cool of me to not be updating.Hey Silver how are you finding your 4.7 now that you have had it for a while? Any updates or thoughts since your initial review?
Haha! You got me! Hopefully everyone saw my emojis in my response to American.Who has cut their index finger off with a 5.1 choil Silver? Pictures or it didn't happen as you often say- Plus I have to hear that story if it has happened.
I like the looks of the 6 better but that choil does what it's supposed to, give a little better control for certain cuts and take some pressure off my wrists while doing those cuts.
Lots of other brand's choils are marginal at best i.e. Esee 4 comes to mind, too shallow and not wide enough so it contacts your finger with the cutting edge.
Would like to have a 6 in the family but as you said they are harder to come by and usually a little pricey.
Awesome, glade to hear!
I am stuck with the dreading question alot are facing...4.7 or 5.1
I have such an indecisive mind. I wish i could handle both first. It would make things so much easier
That is a tough call!
I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but you don't live in North America, do you?
