Jack Black Jack Black Thank you Jack. Once I open a door in History, I’m hooked. Now I’m learning about the Norman Conquest with who else? William the Conquerer. Amazing? What a true Cutlery lover you are. Busy day for you and your sore back. Feel better, my friend.

Good Mornining Guardians. Good Luck to all of you.

Thanks Dave, most folks kind of take it for granted here  That is amazing scenery :) Nowhere near as impressive, but these are Alport Castles in the English Peak District (I've filched the pic though)

Thanks Harvey, I'm glad you found that interesting Harvey, British history is littered with momentous events, which most people here are ignorant of

Glad you made it Kevin, you have been working real hard lately mate, nice pic

Thank you Mark, Wakefield itself is a bit of a dump, but fortunately, it's surrounded by some very attractive countryside :) I did, thanks my friend :)

Hope so Mark :) First, I need to try and round up all my Lambsfoot knives and figure out how I am going to photograph them all together! :D

Good to see you here Michael, and thanks for the kind words :) I thought my back troubles would be gone by now, but I'm still getting a fair bit of pain and stiffness o_O Dragging on a bit, but I hope it'll be gone soon

Thanks a lot Dwight :)

Spectacular pic Taylor :)

Great to see that pic again, well done Harvey

That looks very tasty Taylor :)

Good to see you here mate :) Sometimes, it can be harder to get a good sheath made than a knife! That's certainly the case in Sheffield  Those walking sticks look nice and straight, good job, nice pics too  I had a good May Day thanks, though pretty quiet too. That's great your 2019 has been getting so much use. Fantastic collection there my friend, hope you've had a great weekend

Morning Guardians, taking me a while to get started here today! Hope everyone is having a great weekend, we have Monday off here too :) Hoping to do the giveaway draw done sometime today, so good luck everyone :) I'll draw one name out first, and let them take their pick of the knives before drawing a second. Be a few hours yet anyway, as I've plenty to do. Have a great Sunday folks, I'm carrying the Yorkshire Rose :)

Here's a pic of most of my Lambsfoot knives folks, I reckon I have around 15 more, including some duplicate Guardians knives, which are in my safe. I'll keep looking (I have more than a thousand knives), and if I turn up anymore, I'll edit the pic

It was a new type of warfare Harvey. Here's a link to a Wikipedia page. The history is still not widely known, even here in England: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrying_of_the_North

William and his army turned up in what would become Sheffield on December 19th 1075, and laid waste to it with fire and sword, killing any man, woman, or child who gave resistance, or got in their way. The church and priory were destroyed, and the endowment given to a monastery in Normandy. the ground was seeded with salt, and the peasants ordered to carry the stones that had built the ruined buildings away. William ordered that the village should not be re-built, "nor iron-works be wrought", nor the inhabitants "be suffered to settle as owners of possessions", "on pain of the King's displeasure."
