Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Great to see you here Chin :) Fantastic to see those beauties, and to see your Lambshank again, do you carry it regularly? The Frostfoot you kindly gifted me is on the magnetic knife rack on my kitchen wall, and was used only yesterday :) You have built up a good patina on your '19 already my friend, great pics. Hope you have a great May Day :)

Thanks mate, it’s good to hear the Frostfoot’s coming in handy.

I did use and carry the Lambshank for a few months after it was made, but I haven’t used it that much lately - partly because I still need to get a custom pocket sheath made up for it.

You did prompt me to use it to put a rustic whittled pattern on some makeshift European Ash walking sticks, which I’d previously been using my ol’ ebony user Lambsfoot on.

This one’s some sort of eucalypt though:

I had an enjoyable May Day, a quiet one though - I hope you all had a good one.

Yeah, I’ve been using my 2019 Ironwood a fair bit. It gets almost as much use as my plain ol’ ebony user.

Thanks for showing that ‘800AD Lambsfoot’ again. And here I was, thinking the pattern started around the 1890s! What was the story behind that one again, Jack?

Thanks, Chin! I was a little nervous, but I was alone for about 15 minutes. Knife folk, they are a crazy lot!:D:thumbsup:

LOL definitely!

Another fantastic post Chin, great collection of Lambsfoot knives, interesting commentary and superb photography, thank you.

Thank you Preston. I’ve been interested to hear about your dog training regime. I haven’t been wingshooting for a few seasons now, but I recall fondly what a pleasure it is, to see a well trained dog working in unison with the hunter.

Hey, man - numbers of knives don't matter. What matters is the appreciation of the functionality of this versatile knife and you obviously appreciate it, otherwise you wouldn't have bothered to enter in the 1st place
Good luck to you, I hope I win :p

Well said OG!

I’m constantly amazed at the high quality of photos here - all of them full of the character of the photographer.

There seems to have been a particularly great run of Lambsfoot knives and pics lately, but I’m always thinking that!

This one in particular is amazing, Dwight, with that water like inky obsidian:

Harvey, I dig the Lambsfoot Infernus!

Here’s my current flock o’ Lambs:

Thanks Dave, most folks kind of take it for granted here  That is amazing scenery :) Nowhere near as impressive, but these are Alport Castles in the English Peak District (I've filched the pic though)

Thank you Jack. Great looking country side. Last night I watched a documentary on the 1381 Peasant Revolt, and then did more research. Incredible History, Enjoy your Beer!

Thanks Harvey, I'm glad you found that interesting Harvey, British history is littered with momentous events, which most people here are ignorant of

I managed to make it to another weekend.... A toast to the working stiffs!

Glad you made it Kevin, you have been working real hard lately mate, nice pic

Thanks for the kind words, Jack. That stag and damascus of yours is just beautiful! As is the country around that castle. Thanks for taking us.:) Hope you enjoyed your refreshments.

Thank you Mark, Wakefield itself is a bit of a dump, but fortunately, it's surrounded by some very attractive countryside :) I did, thanks my friend :)

Oh yeah!!! Can't wait! You will make someones day, Jack. Thank you!

Hope so Mark :) First, I need to try and round up all my Lambsfoot knives and figure out how I am going to photograph them all together! :D

Good afternoon, Guardians!
Bought my wife a car for Mother's Day. How 'bout you? ;)

That's nothing, I'm letting the Missus use my lambsfoot to open the boxes, once were moved in. :D:D

LOL! :D

Nice pic Vince, hope the missus is pleased with her new SUV

Scrumptious Dave! :)

Thank you so much for your kindness fellas! I'm about 50 pages behind and trying to catch up! I'm reminded of the old adage: "How do you eat a whale?" One bite at a time.

Keeping that in mind I have many in-between posts to read but I hope by now your back is no longer troubling you, Jack Black Jack Black ! And to my fellow guardians, wonderful images as always and I look forward to both them and reading of your happenings.

Good to see you here Michael, and thanks for the kind words :) I thought my back troubles would be gone by now, but I'm still getting a fair bit of pain and stiffness o_O Dragging on a bit, but I hope it'll be gone soon

Thanks Jack. Fantastic pics of your lamb and the castle ruins!

Thanks a lot Dwight :)

Spectacular pic Taylor :)

Hmm Pied D'agneau Flambé - interesting concept Harvey @cigarrodog ;)

Good to see you here mate :) Sometimes, it can be harder to get a good sheath made than a knife! That's certainly the case in Sheffield  Those walking sticks look nice and straight, good job, nice pics too  I had a good May Day thanks, though pretty quiet too. That's great your 2019 has been getting so much use. Fantastic collection there my friend, hope you've had a great weekend

Morning Guardians, taking me a while to get started here today! Hope everyone is having a great weekend, we have Monday off here too :) Hoping to do the giveaway draw done sometime today, so good luck everyone :) I'll draw one name out first, and let them take their pick of the knives before drawing a second. Be a few hours yet anyway, as I've plenty to do. Have a great Sunday folks, I'm carrying the Yorkshire Rose :)

Pretty cool Jack!:) that area sure looks extremely old, I wonder if there have been any fossils discovered in that location?

Yes, a lot of that area is very old because it sits above the valleys which were cut out when the glaciers melted after the last Ice Age, but Alport Castles were actually caused by a land slip. Some info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alport_Castles

Here's a pic of most of my Lambsfoot knives folks, I reckon I have around 15 more, including some duplicate Guardians knives, which are in my safe. I'll keep looking (I have more than a thousand knives), and if I turn up anymore, I'll edit the pic

Rise and shine you sleepyheads!:D
Thanks for the photos of your collection, Jack! Great to see them all together. The second row with your 'specials' are all noteworthy but my eye goes to the AC every time. It seems to have a bit more sway to its back?
Second row, third from the left, is that Rosewood? Was that one of your special orders?

You're welcome Mark, and thank you, I'd photograph them more often, but I have to track them down, and then put them all away again ;) The AC does have a little more sway :) That Rosewood knife was a sample Wright's sent me of the threaded bolster they first did for the last year's horn knives

It is great to have options!! Take care and enjoy the rest of your day Jack!

Thanks a lot Nathan, you too my friend :)

A thousand! Wow. I will tell my wife who keeps informing me that my collection of about a hundred is about 90 too many! A beautiful collection of lambs.

I stopped counting at a thousand a few years back Wayne! I just found a few more

Nice cap, Jack Black Jack Black . I've lost my genuine Welsh woolen hat from Llandrindod Wells. But somebody said it made me look like Inspector, Chief Inspector Clouseau, and somebody else said it made me look like Mr. Belvedere, so maybe not a great loss.

Thanks pal, I've really taken to wearing a cap these past five years or so :) In the summer, it's generally too hot to wear a woolen cap, and I miss it! :D Sometimes when I take it off, even folks who have known me a while are surprised that I'm not bald! :D
