Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Morning Guardians, taking me a while to get started here today! Hope everyone is having a great weekend, we have Monday off here too :) Hoping to do the giveaway draw done sometime today, so good luck everyone :) I'll draw one name out first, and let them take their pick of the knives before drawing a second. Be a few hours yet anyway, as I've plenty to do. Have a great Sunday folks, I'm carrying the Yorkshire Rose :)

The new Lambsfoot day officially begins when you post your morning message. That is quite a beauty to start the day with.

Here's a pic of most of my Lambsfoot knives folks, I reckon I have around 15 more, including some duplicate Guardians knives, which are in my safe. I'll keep looking (I have more than a thousand knives), and if I turn up anymore, I'll edit the pic

So fun to see Space Lamb in the mix. That is quite a group of Lambs you have. We need to get you a Shepard's cane. :D

Just had coffee and hot-dogs for lunch :D With Lambsfoot knives all over my usual indoor photo spot, I couldn't take a pic, so here's one I created earlier! ;) :D

You're having lunch as I'm having my morning coffee. Another great picture, Jack.

I'll wait until a few more of you are up and about before I do the giveaway draw :)

The start of the sophisticated drawing process ;)

Good luck everyone, I'll be so excited for the lucky person (especially if it's me) :D

Nice cap, Jack Black Jack Black . I've lost my genuine Welsh woolen hat from Llandrindod Wells. But somebody said it made me look like Inspector, Chief Inspector Clouseau, and somebody else said it made me look like Mr. Belvedere, so maybe not a great loss.

Ebony and Horn beauties. Beautiful picture to start my morning.

I wear my old Tilley most of the time, to keep off rain, snow, sun, ticks.

I bought my son a hat like that for band camps. He plays Contra Bugle (tuba) and needed a soft sided hat. It worked great. Love the picture!!!

Very nice Jer, I've thought about getting one, but at my age, I'm not sure I'd get my money's worth! :D

I am always amazed at the beauty of England Jack.

 WOW  I'm speechless
I love that english hat Jack! View attachment 1122961

Thanks Dwight, I think the same about the USA :)

Thank you, it's a Harris Tweed cap. Flat-caps, mostly cloth rather than tweed, are very traditional in the north of England. When I was a boy, no man would have gone out without a hat, and for most working-class men, even those in their late teens and twenties, it was a flat-cap :)

Beautiful photo :)

LOL! Thanks John :D

I treasure it my friend :) :D

Thanks for the kind words :)

It's 3.00pm here in Yorkshire. How about I do the first draw at 4.00pm?

Here's another look at what is up for grabs, first name out of the hat gets first pick :)

Sweet! I have time for a shower. :D

Thank you very much John. Skoll lurking in the Japanese Maple is both beautiful and menacing.
Thank you, Dwight. I keep meaning to get my Lambs down to my creek to take a picture, but every year the berry bushes claim more and more of the banks...

Can you see my little creek in there?

okay so I had been lambsfootless for awhile now, but yesterday I got lucky and ran into to this one at a show. I think it was made in the 60's or 70's or so I was told by the dealer.

Interesting. Is it stainless? I've never seen a bolster-less Lambsfoot. I rather like it. If it were mine, I'd call it "Shadow" :D

Good morning, Guardians. I'm taking a little break from Centenarian Week and carrying a Lambsfoot in ironwood. (with some very old tools to balance out the newness of the knife) ;)

Good Morning Guardians
My Lamb and my Japanese Maple I've been nursing back to health...

Beautiful photo John

Welcome to the Guardians :) I think the dealer is right, more likely 70's rather than 60's I think. I have one somewhere, but it has been very badly ground by a previous owner. Thanks for showing it :)

Sadly, my only other Joseph Rodgers Lambsfoot has seen even worse abuse! :(

I showed mine the other week, but I doubt anyone thought it was nice! I don't think I even saved the pic :D I think mine is carbon

Here's another shadow Lambsfoot I neglected to include in my collection pic, sad that TEW are producing knives like this :(

I'd quite like to do a shadow Lambsfoot at some point - but a nice one!

Cool pic Rachel :)

Jack have you ever seen an older all metal advertising/souvenir lambsfoot?

At least it's an old pattern :D
:D:thumbsup:

Did you show one, Jack? I confess that keeping up with this thread can be a bit of a blur.
That red plastic one is something, alright. I was going to comment. "At least it cuts." until I noticed the rounded tip, and I now won't even give it that.

Jack Black Jack Black what a gorgeous lineup of heavenly choices!!!!!!! :)

Thanks a lot Dwight, loved your photo from today :)

Carrying this special one for luck!

That's a great pic Dave :)

Thanks, Jack :)

I bet you still love it though. :)

Only a mother would love a Lambsfoot that ugly John! :D If it was honest wear, I'd treasure it, but it's been ruined by some idiot with a Dremel I think. I keep it in my maintenance box, as the thin blades are handy for poking stubborn detritus out of the blade wells of other old knives

Looks great John :)

Off-hand, I don't think I have Dwight, not to say they weren't made though

It was hardly memorable Rachel (took another pic)! :D

It's coming up to 4.00pm, so I better rush off and assemble a drum-roll! :D

Thanks mate, it’s good to hear the Frostfoot’s coming in handy.

I did use and carry the Lambshank for a few months after it was made, but I haven’t used it that much lately - partly because I still need to get a custom pocket sheath made up for it.

You did prompt me to use it to put a rustic whittled pattern on some makeshift European Ash walking sticks, which I’d previously been using my ol’ ebony user Lambsfoot on.

This one’s some sort of eucalypt though:

I had an enjoyable May Day, a quiet one though - I hope you all had a good one.

Yeah, I’ve been using my 2019 Ironwood a fair bit. It gets almost as much use as my plain ol’ ebony user.

Thanks for showing that ‘800AD Lambsfoot’ again. And here I was, thinking the pattern started around the 1890s! What was the story behind that one again, Jack?

LOL definitely!

Thank you Preston. I’ve been interested to hear about your dog training regime. I haven’t been wingshooting for a few seasons now, but I recall fondly what a pleasure it is, to see a well trained dog working in unison with the hunter.

Well said OG!

I’m constantly amazed at the high quality of photos here - all of them full of the character of the photographer.

There seems to have been a particularly great run of Lambsfoot knives and pics lately, but I’m always thinking that!

This one in particular is amazing, Dwight, with that water like inky obsidian:

@StoneBeard: good to see you here, outstanding images as always, my friend.

Harvey, I dig the Lambsfoot Infernus!

Here’s my current flock o’ Lambs:

Thank you Chin. Your craftsman skills are as impressive as your posts. The fixed Lambsfoot blade, in a sea of folding Lambsfoot blades is stunning.

Jack Black Jack Black Thank you Jack. Once I open a door in History, I’m hooked. Now I’m learning about the Norman Conquest with who else? William the Conquerer. Amazing? What a true Cutlery lover you are. Busy day for you and your sore back. Feel better, my friend.

Good Mornining Guardians. Good Luck to all of you.
