Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

pjsjr pjsjr Thank you Preston, for the nice words. Hope your week is a good one.
A nice sunny view of your splendid Ironwood Lambsfoot, Preston.
Thank you, Harvey, I'm looking forward to seeing what surprises are in store..like waking up on Christmas morning...A la 'Tommy', Christmas, The Who.
Great stuff Preston, well done
Thanks, Jack.
Of course, no problem... and I'm honored.
Thanks much appreciated!
Thanks Preston, this side of your Guardians is very handsome!
Thank you, Jose, and congrats, again for your winning way:thumbsup::D
Thanks Preston, you too :) Nice pile side pic, I keep meaning to take a few myself, think I have some sort of 'block'!
I got everyone's giveaway knives parceled up to go (it's quite a big job with all the customs stickers and everything), but I'm afraid I forgot to include the card I'd written out for you Jose :( I'm very sorry about that :(

I also forgot to include a Yorkshire ballpoint I had set aside for Joshua :( My apologies, I'll get you next time

It will be all steel construction Jose, vintage Sambar covers like this, but with a proper (longer) Barlow bolster with the A.Wright 'candelabra' stamp

Looks like you're doing some maintenance my friend, I need to find time for a sharpening session, I just noticed Lucy is feeling a bit 'toothy'! ;)

Jack, I have been called a 'blockhead' before, not saying that would apply to you...
That is a nice wash drawing, is it ink, or watercolor?
The Barlow sounds so super...I'm already for it to be here!
What can I say? Guess it's the unfulfilled something or other in me

LOL Jack. As per guidelines for the Guardians thread, no folding saws can be posted. :D:thumbsup:
That's a nice painting of that sailing ship (would it be a barque??).
Aye I just gave them a few runs on that Lansky Turnbox? thing I bought a few months ago. It seems to put a decent enough edge on them. The belt is my childhood belt from when I was in single digits. Lord knows how I've still got it but, inspired by 'Pearl's' smart little leather slip I had an idea of making a couple up out of that belt. But then I suddenly remembered a belt buckle I had and thought better. (And yes everyone before you mention it, the belt would have to be extended by about 2 feet....:oops::rolleyes::p).

LOL! It would Preston! :D I bought a whole collection of nautical-themed postcards a few years back, mainly related to HMS Victory. I have sent or given them away to members here, so there are just a few left now. That one is the Annie Heron, a Solway Trading Schooner at anchor in Kippford, Scotland :) I thought I better not send Jose a picture of a British Man O' War! ;)

I'll get her sharpened up David! :D Glad to hear you're getting on with the Turnbox :) Nice buckle, and a great photo :)

I decided to splash out on a Finnish Army belt the other week, cost me a fair bit as I ordered two by mistake! Teach me not to go on the internet after imbibing! o_O :D

BARLOW LAMBSFOOOOOOOT!

Hope it didn't come as too much of a shock Taylor :) I once had a job where overtime was unpaid, but you could take time off. By the end of the year, I had accumulated 5 weeks! When I went back, everyone thought I'd left! :D

THANKS JACK!!! That is hilarious....it was a nice "vacation." Lots of "daddy duty." Took about 5 minutes to get back in the swing of things at work....Unfortunately with the changes occurring in my department and the county I work for it looks like I will be employed until June 30th...Some BIG changes are definitely occurring. I am grateful my wife has a great paying job! Also, excited to spend more time with my family, finish school and to start teaching ASAP.

Ha! 1588. Ancient history. ;)

A Finnish Army belt eh? Something else to Google...

I know. I think everyone's..."mildly" intrigued....:)

Glad to hear Taylor, nothing is more important than time with your kids in my opinion :) The other news is more disturbing, so I hope everything works out just great :)

That job I had was as a youth-worker, I got paid for 35 hours, but regularly had to work more than 70! At least I got time off, these days there are folks here doubling-up on their hours who aren't getting a thing! o_O

Thank you Jack, there is no problem, the next time you send me a knife (hopefully it will be quick), add your card that I will appreciate!;)

I've always known I was bad at sharpening, but today I proved to myself that I am totally useless at sharpening when putting an edge on my lambsfoot (or at least trying).
I somehow managed to put a bit of a recurve in a straight edge while using a guided system...
:poop::confused::poop:
I tried my best to get it back straight and managed to improve it a bit but still not perfect. This sort of thing really irritates me, my own lack of skill!
At least it's sharp though, haha!
