Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

David, the movie, the chase, and Gene Hackman, was also brilliant. I’d like to say nice Lambsfoot(I just did:)), but oh my goodness, what a beautiful tankard!

Thanks Harvey! It's an historically accurate reproduction.

Nice flock shot, David!:thumbsup::cool: The belt from long ago and the buckle you subsequently posted are both interesting.

That's a lovely sunny shot GT. Your another one on here that manages to make your photos "look" warm... :D Anyway Cracker Jack looks cracking!:thumbsup:
The belt is Spanish and must be 40 years old. The buckle must be about 25 years old and is good 'ole homemade U.S of A :thumbsup:

That is a wonderful pic - grats
Thank you OG.

Me too Dwight :) Lovely pic my friend :)

I waited in for some furniture being delivered, having spent most of the morning moving stuff around to make room for it. Then the delivery guys turned up and told me that the large bookcase I'd paid for had been "damaged beyond repair" (which I don't entirely believe as it was a real solid thing). I wish I'd told them what they could do with the other items too (a very large chest of drawers and a set of shelves), as the lack of the large bookcase completely messed up my plans, and caused me a lot of extra work. I also noticed they scratched the chest of drawers in several places. Something else I've got to sort out  I think I'm going to go and take a hot bath, and hope, against the odds, that my my back is OK tomorrow  At least I have beer in the fridge!
Thanks Jack. Sorry to hear about your latest trials with yet more incompetent laborers and especially about the bookcase. Hoping your back escapes further injury and or pain.

Some awesome stag on your AC GT.

I wouldn't be at all surprised OG, it wasn't the sort of piece that would be easily damaged o_O I think it was partly my back that kept me awake last night, but at the moment it's my middle back (rather than my lower back) that's causing me pain. It never gets anywhere near as bad there as my lower back, so if it's just like this again tomorrow, I won't mind too much. Worrying has kept me awake in the past, and just plain thinking a lot of times, but last night was just one of those nights, maybe I had too much coffee or something (though I never have more than a couple of cups) :) Hey, I'll look forward to hearing about The Wave :)
When you read this, I hope it's after enjoying sleep filled and restful night. I absolutely HATE hearing about back problems :( Promise me you'll get in touch if you ever consider surgery.

Very cool John :)

Dang, I could look at that knife all day long. Outstanding  That's the 2017, right?

Having to use my phone to edit this double-tap as my 'high speed' internet connection has died on me again
Maybe somebody could help me out as I'm talking out of my...hat. I'm wondering if the problem might have something to do with your phone line? That's how the signal gets into the house, right? When you put the receiver to your ear, like listening for a dial tone, do you hear a white noise static? Might that be causing interference?
Or am I way off base?

As a newcomer to the guardians...it's been a good week. My direct order from the A Wright factory arrived Friday. Stag was ok, action good but a little to much wiggle in the blade when open. Not worth the hassle to return so I'm putting it to work.

Now today I got to sign for (well technically my wife did) my guardians Damascus senator and it exceeded expectations. I was hesitant when I first ordered because I wasn't sure about the double bolster. I can see now that I was wrong to doubt it. Added some needed heft to a large knife. Choice stag on this example, very thin, and nicely figured. Blade is tight and snaps open and shut. Joint needs flushing but I'll get around to that later (in the pocket it goes!!).

The file work on the backspring was a nice touch...very impressive!!

I also may have found the antidote for my wife's judgemental stares as knives pile up in the mailbox. I had to ask her to retrieve the senator from the post office as it required signature and as a university professor whose semester just ended...she was available.

After the usually huffing and eyerolling, I got a raised eyebrow in picqued interest when I mentioned it was from one of Sheffield's last great cutleries still operating. Her mother is British (Norwich) and her older sister was born there (a fact she is terribly jealous of). After her ancestry dna test last year, we confirmed she is as British as a jar of clotted cream. Most goods from England are of interest in that family (note to self...buy more British cutlery).

On to the pictures:

I may be prejudiced, but your Damascus Senator is smashing, and the other one ain’t bad, either,:). Congratulations!

Grats on your knives  The file work on the Senator is sweet, isn't it? Nice thought about respecting the feelings of the family and I hope you can continue to keep them in mind in the future ;)
