Apologies for my sudden departure last night, I recently got a new ISP, using mobile wireless broadband, supposed to be faster than Steve McQueen, but it's even worse than my previous set-upBecause of the holiday here, I've not been able to go back to the store and harangue them (nor will I be able to today)
I went to bed, but then didn't manage to get to sleep until after 3.00am
At least I had an interesting book to read
I heard Martin Scorsese reference this tome as research material (along with the eponymous book) for Gangs of New York. Has anyone else read it? I'm off to the post office when they open to mail off all the giveaway prizes, then have to come back home as I'm having some furniture delivered. Hope everyone has a good day, I'm carrying my Guardians Lambsfoot from 2017

That Steve McQueen was a bad influence! But he was cool. Thanks PrestonBullet with Steve Mcqueen was the coolest movie of 68
I think it was the first movie I took my wife to be to.
After the movie was over I had to show off on the main street with my 57 Pontiac 283 stick shift, burning rubber.Next thing I know I had a stunting traffic ticket in my hand.
she still married me in 69 though

That is a great chase, for sure. The word got out that a chase scene for a new movie with Steve McQueen was being filmed and a couple of us decided to go up to the City to watch. By the time we got there though, we couldn't get close because everything was roped off. The "other" car is a 1968 Dodge Charger 440 Magnum and was driven by Bill Hickman who was a stuntman. It was one of the very few times that a stuntman was listed as an actor in the creditsSorry you are being vexed by slow connection. Beautiful covers on your Lambsfoot. I’m not as familiar with California now, but the California I remember, was as close to Nirvana as one can get. Half the reason I like films like this is because California is a Co-Star. I would imagine it was a fun day for you, anyway. That is a great chase, for sure.
