Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That looks good Ron :)

5K Qs 5K Qs showed a pic of his button spanner a few pages back. Metal 'buttons' were certainly the most common way of joining leather drive belts, but apparently some were joined by a crude buckle, like these John Maleham gave me from the Wright's factory. Carrying my AC today

Thanks Jack, it was a very tasty dish! :) Your AC is a beauty my friend!

I dropped one of my ‘19 Ironwood models in my pocket this morning. Of course I took some new photos first in the morning light. I hope y’all have a great day! :D

Beautiful knives friends, Well Sue and I have just walked our feet off and I apologise I can’t post photos- we are travelling right now- and I was extremely limited in what knives I can bring with me on this tour- so no Lambsfoot for Duncan at the moment- BUT.....In one weeks time I once again meet up with Jack - SO SO looking forward to that!
Have a great day - it’s 31 degrees ( Celsius)

Good Evening Guardians

Sorry I couldn't see your fine pic earlier John :)

This one accompanied me this morning on our dog walk

I always think that stag has some great character my friend :)

Good Morning Guardians

I know exactly where it is; it's just that the lace reminded me of the prophet I quoted.

Great-looking Rosewood guys :)

Fantastic to hear from you Duncan, I was just searching for something I had put away for you :) Save some shoe leather for me mate! :D Hope you're having a wonderful time, and I can't wait to see you :)

Superb photo Dwight :)

I could stare at that wood all day Dave :)

Couple of days behind in my replies again; I think the quotes below all appeared first on Sunday. Knife-wise, I think I'll be on the lookout for exotic wood handles.

...Sometimes its all about the setting, For example, when I wear brown I look like a schmuck :confused: but when I wear black I'm totally cool :cool::p
Dave, I look like a schmuck WHATEVER I wear, but I think that gives me a lot of fashion freedom! :D:thumbsup:

Yes, although For The Term of His Natural Life was written in an easy to read popular novel format, I think it stands the test of time very well. Marcus Clarke had an enquiring mind and observant eye for the foibles and details of early Australia - the thin veneer of transplanted genteel ‘Society’ presiding over a hellish prison system.

Speaking of fine Lambsfoot knives, I have a new arrival from another Guardian to reintroduce to the thread.;)

@Leslie Tomville kindly got in touch with me recently and asked if I’d be interested in giving this Michael May Lambsfoot a new home.
...
Some of you may recall that @Leslie Tomville specified the stunning bocote covers and full profile Wright Lambsfoot blade, rather than Michael’s more usual version which starts off as a Wright blank but is ground a bit lower and rounder out to the tip.

Thanks, as always, Chin, for the fascinating and wide-ranging post!:cool::thumbsup:
I enjoyed your comments on prison systems, and the ensuing contributions of many Guardians on prison-related topics.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Congrats on the superb Michael May lambsfoot you obtained via @Leslie Tomville!:thumbsup::cool:

I'm just happy that I was able to pass on the joy of math to both of my boys. I hope I have done the same with some of my students.

Amen to that, John! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today. Dinner of the God's. :D

That red ale looks like something I would enjoy, David, as does the meat pie (and the pearl onions?)! ;):thumbsup:

Good morning, Guardians!

Family portrait.
Lovely family, Vince; given my focus in this post, I'm especially appreciative of that desert ironwood at the top!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, GT. :)
I am a proud Father. Not sure about the knife budget though, with 2 in college I think the budget is shrinking. :(

I've talked a lot today, better post some Lambsfoot content... :D
Yeah, two growing boys taking big bites out of the fridge contents probably don't take as big a bite out of the family budget as two college students do. :( But none of that compares to the big bite that Sköll can inflict!!;)

5K Qs 5K Qs it was a rough start loosing the first 2 or 3 games. But man, they have learned a lot and have become clutch players. I'm very impressed with the manager and the coaches.
Very cool, Taylor!:cool::cool: I remember going to lots of figure skating practice and orchestra rehearsals when my daughter was little, and when they'd nail something in competition or performance that they'd struggled with while preparing, I'd get chills every time!:thumbsup::D

Thank you very much GT, I was comfortable in both belt and braces! :D

Thanks again my friend, that section of canal (the Leeds-Liverpool Canal @donn has also posted pictures of) was right at the start of our walk :) It was all uphill for the rest of the day! :D

Sweet adieu to your Union Jack, I'm looking forward to seeing what you carry next :)

:D
Belt/braces combo is the way to go if you enjoy the company of many knives at once! :p:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I hope my Valley Jack for this week doesn't disappoint you, Jack; it sure lives up to MY expectations!:cool::thumbsup:

She's a bit of a vamp GT :p

...
Thanks GT, resolved well enough for now.
The treasure chest was a gift years ago. It came out an antique shop so not a clue how old it actually is but everything still works. I'm using the glass at the moment as I'm waiting on new reading glasses....
I wish the Union over here was as sunny as your Union over there. :DThat's a great shot.
Thanks, David. :) I have to admit the pic of my Union Jack was taken last August in the height of summer.

Hadn't heard that yet. Saw Wynn play in 1973 in my first trip to the Astrodome. Cedeño was the biggest star of that team, I think.
Altuve is my favorite current player (got to see him here at AA). A team of stars right now, after having lots of bad seasons. New ownership by Jim Crane has been "awesome"! I'm finally okay with the move to the AL.
Neither Altuve nor Wynn seems to be bothered by being "undersized"!;)
I intended to ask this earlier, but keep forgetting. In a post of your recent visit to WhataBurger Field (??), did the statue in a photo represent a specific player, or was that just a generic ballplayer doing the Colavito stretch?

5K Qs 5K Qs Thank you Gary. Your has a lovely view.

Thanks, Harvey. :) Your ironwood must be a politician; that's a stupendous shot of the knife "on the stump". ;):thumbsup:

I spoke to Charlie @waynorth for an hour earlier :) What a wonderful man :) It has really made my day hearing his voice. Hopefully he'll be home on Thursday. I don't think Lambsfoot knives have left his mind all the time he's been in hospital! :) :D

Well done Charlie, and Joanne, and the rest of your family :) It's great to have you back pal

Having a beer or two to celebrate ;) Enter the Dragon! :D

...
Thanks for the encouraging update on Charlie's health, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup::)

Lotta grand lambsfoot wood in that display, Taylor!!:cool::thumbsup:

I CAN eat healthy.
Isn't it gratifying to enjoy the fruits of your labors, Vince? ;):cool:
(That blue plate is pretty special, too.:thumbsup:;))

Hello Guardians! It’s been a long day and I’m running late. I’ve had my Ironwood Damascus with me today! :D

Exotic wood AND exotic blade, Ron!:thumbsup::cool:

I found an A. Wright stag lambs foot that is calling my name. I'll try to post a picture when it arrives from Sheffield.
Looking forward to seeing what you get, @WHT!:cool::)

Hope you had a great weekend everybody  Still having fun with my coin collection :)

Snakes Alive, Darren!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Both blade and handle have definite snakiness!:cool::thumbsup:

Some rosewood for Blue Monday:
dSWm6bp.jpg
I haven't been thinking of rosewood as "exotic", but your African rosewood is certainly exoticer than "normal" (Brazilian?) rosewood. ;):thumbsup:
Is that your gazebo in the background? Very nice!! :):thumbsup:

Are the Damascus and Stags that keep appearing on here, a carbon Damascus or damasteel? Either way they’re absolutely stunning.

More pics please :)

The former :)

Wynn was listed as 5'10" (he may have rounded up, as I do!), but Altuve is listed as 5'6". I think he's really 5'5", and may be the shortest major league ballplayer. My favorite current player.
I don't think the statue (world's tallest bronze statue of a ballplayer) is of a particular player, but I will be back on the 23rd and read the inscription.
Isn't it gratifying to enjoy the fruits of your labors, Vince? ;):cool:

That was a good meal/snack. (Plate and knife from England.)

Gazebo in a park in the city I work in (Kingsville). Sometimes I go there at lunch time.

Absolutely love Ella Fitzgerald. I could listen to her all day long. Thank you

When my mother was young, Ella Fitzgerald was at the City Hall in Sheffield. That day, she was out with her mother, when my grandmother spotted Ella walking up the hill from the bus and train stations in Sheffield. They went and spoke to her and got her autograph. It seems incredible that she would have just been in the street, but I remember reading a letter in a Sheffield magazine from someone who had been asked for directions to the City Hall by Buddy Holly when he was in town - small town I guess, and maybe folks were more down to earth in those days :)

That is an absolutely wonderful photo OG, it looks like a painting :)
