Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hi Guardians,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :) I've had a long, but enjoyable day. Travelled over to Huddersfield, and visited the market there, couple of interesting finds ;) Had a great second breakfast, then went out for a walk on the Yorkshire moors, before finishing off with a great pint in a small brewery tap :) Few pics from today, but it's mid evening here now, and I'm afraid I'm not going to get caught up tonight :eek: Bear with me please, and I'll hopefully have a few hours to spend here tomorrow :) :thumbsup:

Great pictures, Jack. Looks like you had an enjoyable day. :cool: :thumbsup:

Artwork ready for ball caps....

I'm thinking black outline with tan face, ivory colored brows, eyes and muzzle on a (what color) ball cap, 'cause I know I can get them done and I know the approximate finished cost. ( about 30 bucks shipped )

MAIL CALL :cool: :D :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
As many others have already said, absolutely stunning.
Charlie, you've outdone yourself and GEC has shown they are still able to manufacture an outstanding product...when they put effort into it (not always the case lately, in my experience). And thank you, Barry.
Couldn't be more pleased with the outstanding jigging and no crud came out when I flushed it. No gaps whatsoever. The etching is aligned perfectly. It could be a tad sharper (just my preference) but a light honing should take care of that very easily as it is evenly ground - no issues there.
I'm almost floating on air! I'm still awaiting an Ebony and when it arrives, I'm sure I'll be so high up in the clouds you'll need to shout from a ladder for you words to reach me ;)
As far as I'm concerned, 2019 is unquestionably the Year of the Lambsfoot :D
OG
Oh yeah, it fits nicely in a Tweed slip should you have one lying around :rolleyes:

Lookin' GOOD :cool:
Ball cap yes, Truckers cap no.
Any thought on lettering underneath? Maybe "Guardians"? Or do you think it would look too busy?
Color of cap, a medium brown or tan?

^ Why does it have to be a scowling face, I wonder? Can it, at least, look contented ;) I don't know the tradition.:) Ray
Just my 2 cents - but I think the idea is to recreate the style of face you can see in the signatures of many here - not scowling but being serious about guarding the Lambsfoot - kinda like "Don't Tread on Me", or in this case, "Us".

You Guardians have been busy as beavers! :eek: :D :thumbsup:

It’s soda for me, but in my youth I certainly would have responded to “want a Coke?” with “yes, a Dr. Pepper, please.”

I love language, too, and frequently find myself adapting mine as you do, Jack. For what it’s worth, I’d never heard the term cap lifter until I showed up here. It’s always been bottle opener to me. But, for drinks among friends, I kinda like the term. As in “I lift my cap to ya.” :D

So, we’ve got an interesting cross-Pond situation. The US just beat France to secure a position against England in the World Cup semi finals. I know who I will be routing for, but we will have to see where the loyalties of my Lambsfoots lie. ;)

I remember a lot of folk saying that Greg, came as a surprise to me :) I like 'Church-key', which I'm not sure I'd heard before I started posting here :D

As someone who hasn't watched TV in decades, with an almost life-long disinterest in spectator sport, I am only vaguely aware of this :D But I think I'd rather watch a bunch of largely under-appreciated, certainly under-paid (compared to the men in the sport), and most definitely more attractive women playing football, than a bunch of always overpaid, often arrogant and conceited, and frequently injury-feigning men! So good luck to them! :D :thumbsup:

Yes, it's a drafting set. I use the scribes and dividers on small art projects, and it was a rude awakening when I realized how many tools I grew up using regularly have to be bought in antique stores. I guess drafting is all done on computers now. I happened to see a finger plane online, and thought, "I'll bet I could use one of those." I'm not sure what for, exactly. :D

I've learned the hard way that if I'm going to drink alcohol, to pick one kind and stick with it for the evening.

He's a LamBar Jack, and he's okay!

Same here.

Have a good weekend, everyone. Dad's in town for a visit, so I doubt I'll be able to keep up.

LOL! :D Isn't that considered 'cheating'?! :confused: :p Have a great time with your dad Rachel :) :thumbsup:

Thanks. I expect so. ;):thumbsup:

Pics or it didn't happen! ;) :D :thumbsup:

Nothing like jumping in with both feet.:D

I also have a friend visiting the UK that is going to pick up a rosewood handle for me while he is there.:rolleyes:

Lovely pic :) Whereabouts in the UK is your friend headed? :thumbsup:

Holy smokes....the year of the Lambsfoot!!! Wow!!!! Worth the wait!!! Great action and fit and finish on both these knives! The Jigged bone went straight into my pocket. @waynorth these are phenomenal and surpassed all my expectations. Thanks Jack Black Jack Black for introducing me to this fantastic blade style. My appreciation is endless!!!

Good Morning or evening, depending on your time zone. To all you members from England, i am just about to cook a good English fry up for breakfast. Eggs, bacon, sausages and tomato's, followed by a POT of tea. Hope everyone has a good weekend.:D

Great stuff! :) :thumbsup:

Thanks Jack! :) They’re here!!!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool::cool::D:D:D

I think that's an apt designation, Taylor! 2019 is not yet half way complete and it has already brought with it the 2019 Guardians Edition, the Hartshead Barlow, and the Waynorth Cutlery Lambsfoot debut. And, just as important, we have seen, to my recollection, an unprecedented number of folks who are newly discovering the pattern and its charms. It's really exciting, isn't it? I can hardly wait to see what the rest of the year brings. Even with, to my knowledge, no new releases slated, it promises to be a fantastic back half of the year for the Lambsfoot. I can hardly wait to see what we are saying about 2019 come December as we start to reflect at the close of the year.

And, congratulations on on that pair of new arrivals. You've got quite a splendid collection going!

What a year! :):cool::thumbsup:

They sure are a handsome pair...nice job getting the ebony to show just how nice it is!
Thanks Preston! :)

I can never get enough of seeing that one, Ron. All the Ironwood 2019s are unique in their way, but that one is just about the most graceful and elegant in its patterning IMHO. One of Dylan’s @Pàdruig is similar if I remember aright, the one with diagonal stripes on the other side.

Breakfast Chip Butty, with a double helping of Lamb on the side!

Chin thanks for the compliment on my 2019 Ironwood. It does have a graceful pattern in the grain. That’s a great looking breakfast sandwich, as we call it here! Your also sporting a beautiful pair of knives. Your new Hartshead has some very nice Stag! :)

Beauties, Ron. Glad to see you got one of each. :cool: :thumbsup:

Going with an older picture today because I like it. :D
Thanks for the compliment John! I’ve always liked that picture of you ‘19 Ironwood too my friend! :)

Received this one this morning. GEC #93 Lambfoot for Waynorth Cutlery.

Really a great week for me with last Monday reception of my Hartshead Barlow

Two beauties there IC! :)

Well, it happened!! I received a beautiful Lambsfoot from Charlies Waynorth Cutlery :thumbsup::D I just had to post something real quick just because.:p
Thank you so much, Charlie! for all the work you put into making this happen.:thumbsup:

I really hope I haven’t missed anyone on these quotes but I’m running late and short on time! There’s definitely a lot going on in the world of the Lambfoot! I’ve been admiring these four off and on all day! I hope all you Guardians have had a great day! :)
