Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thank you very much, Jack!
There's a lot of artistic fellers (and gals) around these parts!:D:thumbsup:
Glad you survived the baby children sitting! Good on you for teaching while there, and not just letting them stay glued tp the tv, or video games:thumbsup:,....or foruns:eek::D!

I think those are well earned!:thumbsup:

Thanks buddy :)

Can you be my babysitter??? Please. :)
I was going to say the same thing. A day like that with Uncle Jack sounds great! Trampolines, fire, knives, Jammie Dodgers...what more could we want? :D
I made short work of these two ;)

Enjoy your reward on Yorkshire Day's Eve.
I don't know if I should enter or not, since I feel pretty lucky in the Lambsfoot department. On the other hand, that stag...
Carrying Rosewood today.

LOL! Sorry JohnDF JohnDF I missed your post earlier :D Thanks Rachel, there was salt & vinegar crisps (their choice), ginger beer, and Yorkshire Day presents too ;) I'm mainly tired because I had an early start and only about 5 hours sleep, the kids were pretty good :) Go on, throw your flat-cap in! :D Nice choice for today

Beer and Spam!

I'm having the beer now! :D

Thanks Jack! :) It appears that you’ve had a nice day with the kids. It’s great to see a youngster interested in learning fire starting techniques and associated skills! :)

Thanks Ron, I've known them all since they were born, and they're great kids, and really get on together too :) Amos, who has a Lambsfoot, is pretty good with a ferro rod (and tying knots). When he gets a bit older, I'll get him going with flint and steel, he's already fascinated by it :)

Well folks, I'm pretty beat, so I'm going to have a cup of tea, sort out a few things for tomorrow, and then hit the hay. I have to leave early in the morning, so if I don't get a chance to post, I'll take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Yorkshire Day (and don't forget to enter my giveaway) ;)

Lovely pic with the white rose. I'll post something after midnight Yorkshire time. Sleep well!

Hi Guardians,

Hope everyone is having a good day :) I'm tired, but survived child-minding in one piece! :D We had tea and biscuits (cookies), and some of the jelly beans Vince sent me recently (not the Tabasco ones! :D) with a game of cards, then went for a walk in the woods with the dog. We found an enormous patch of blackberries, and some mirabelle plums, so picked some of those. After lunch, and some tea and Jammy Dodgers, I was entertained with magic tricks, stand-up comedy, and acrobatics. Then, while the youngest two played on the trampoline, I did some fire skills with my mate's eldest lad - ferro techniques, different tinders, and then fire and steel, followed by some whittling, and knot-work. I had a cup of coffee, and then played darts with my friends' little girl, while the two lads read their books

Wonderful report on your day in the salt mines! They are lucky to have you Jack, as are the rest of us.

Yeah, all good Vince, I think I'll sleep tonight! :D They've been around a decade or so here. I don't have a pair myself, if folks saw a pair of size 12* Crocs coming down the street they might think they were the real thing! :D

* US size 13
Sounds like you would need to be fitted with a pair of "SALTWATER CROCS".  :D

Thanks for the kind words all.

Happy Yorkshire Day!

Here's a shot of my dad and grandfather when dad took an elk in the late 80's. They both taught me that you don't have to have the biggest or the greatest stuff to enjoy the wilderness, going up to the mountains and riding horses for a week or two at a time.
They cleaned this with just an old Case fixed blade and a couple of pocket knives.
The Lambsfoot is a great knife, in the same spirit of having just a couple of good reliable tools, you can take care of many tasks.
The elk weighed~850 lbs field dressed.
Dads Elk.jpg These are great knives, and Thanks to Jack for more of his giving and generous spirit!

Great photo Dennis!

Jake has had a busy day, he helped me prepare my version of a chip butty. I didn't have any bread so I substituted a tortilla, since I was already going with a Mexican vibe, I threw on some avocado, roasted chilies, onion and some salsa.
Is it still a chip butty???? I don't know but it was good. :D
Then someone broke down on their power chair in front of my house. Jake helped me fix it for her so she could get it home.

Come to think of it, I completely left the "butty" out of the chip butty.... :D
