But.....where has @O.G. been? Hope he's well, and he is able to post his Flashback Friday!

Great to see you here Dennis, hope you're keeping OK buddy :) I thought of yuou today when I saw an old hand-vice, but it wasn't a good one. I'm having to make do with a bottle of good Aussie Shiraz tonight ;) Hard week, and I think I've earned it! :D

You have Miss Lucy blushing ,my friend ;)

We have a few absent Guardians who need whistlin in, hope we're going to see @OLd_gUY and the rest soon :) Fine photo of your horn Lamb :)

Well, now I'm hungry! Nice, Jack!

Thanks Dennis, I was just scarfing another piece as I read your post! :D

thank you very much for welcoming me. I’m not fixed on stainless, I actually prefer carbon steel as knife blades. My comment was more orientated towards the knives bolsters, I saw that a lot of lambsfoots have nickel ones and would prefer steel ones… I thought the Harthead bolsters are stainless steel, thanks for clarifying, that was actually one of my questions ;)

Charlie @waynorth can correct me, but I think the bolsters on his own beautiful Lambsfoot knives, while carbon steel, have a slightly higher chromium content than the blades (is that right Charlie?). On the Hartshead Barlows, the steel is the same throughout, unpolished, and it will patina fairly quickly, potentially.
The carbon steel bolsters on the Hartshead is one of my favorite features. No brassiness here!

Hey Duncan, hope you're doing OK my friend :) Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying your Hartshead Barlow :) Thanks also for editing your post, as per my post here, I do everything I can to keep other patterns out of this thread, so that we don't end up discussing those knives rather than Lambsfoot knives. If one person does it, others follow, particularly when it is well-respected posters like yourself (or the serial-offender Charlie @waynorth  ). I am grateful to Vince for drawing your attention to the error

Thank you for your help Mark, those are great pics of your Hartshead Barlow :)

I don't think any apology is necessary Ulix, welcome to the best thread on the net! :) Thanks for your helpful replies Guardians :)

LOL! Great pic John! :D

Thanks for the kind words Ron :)

Looking good my friend

Nice hobby :) There was a time I could have shot an air pistol in my garden, if I did that now there'd be a SWAT team calling! Nice pic sir

Good-looking photo Bill

:D
Thanks Jack! Hope all is well with you.

r8shell r8shell - Can you provide the link for the picture of your antique/vintage/older/well used/ lambfoot knives? I looked for it but cannot find it - not very savvy with the computer. Anyway, I think most people here would like to see it too. Thanks.

Thanks.
I'll bet! It sounds like the cutlers are mighty set in their ways over there.

Yes, there is a long Sheffield tradition of avoiding innovation unfortunately, and a tradition, of at least 50 years, of turning out second-rate goods, so getting anything made there, which is of quality, or even slightly different, is a struggle unfortunately :(

I may have to take some new pictures this weekend. The "Photobucket blur" in the old threads is hurting my head.
Here are a couple:

A beautiful knife Duncan! Our friend Jack really brought us a heirloom classic with his Hartshead Barlow SFO. :D:thumbsup:

Ron my friend- it certainly is - as too are your gorgeous Knives, one day I would love to see your collection, as I suspect there's a tip of the Iceberg thing going on here :)
I see you are carrying your "Scritched Scratched" Pere David stag = What a tough but gorgeous looking Knife!

I thought of yuou today when I saw an old hand-vice, but it wasn't a good one.

Dennis my friend, I'm so sorry to hear you are struggling with your health and selling your home. It has to be an extremely difficult mountain to climb.
I don't know if thoughts for peace sent your way, will help but I will send them anyway. :)
Nice photo of your SFO HHB, Dave, and beautiful painting!:)
Thank you kindly.
