Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

One more day until the weekend. About to head to evening yoga, so HHB has to go lie down in the paddock (awesome bowl from CelloDan CelloDan !) until tomorrow morning.

A fine sentiment, and an equally fine photo, my friend :)

Thank you, Jack, it is a very fine SFO, I am grateful to have it.

Sadly, contrary to what I had hoped, things have only got worse with Wright's :(

I am very sorry to hear that, my friend, especially after hearing such promising stuff earlier in the year. I will continue to have hope and be optimistic but usually good things require more than just good wishes, unfortunately.

Today marks a rather rare day where I do not have a Lambsfoot in my pocket but I decided to gather my horn clad examples for a group shot. I am contemplating ordering my first "Big 'Un" and am divided over whether I should gamble with horn or go with the tried and true Rosewood. I'll let it marinate for a bit...

This thread always reminds me of a moving freight train, about the time I'm ready to jump on, it has well passed me by... :)
I do go back though and read all the posts every few days and thoroughly enjoy the wonderful stories and fantastic pictures from all.
I also enjoyed the video of CelloDan making bowls, r8shell describing her handle modifications, and of course the many various adventures and scenery from everyone.
Here is an old picture of some early 20th century British soldiers and two pocket knives in a style that I would like to imagine they carried.

I try to write everything down these days Jer :) Then I forget where I have put the notes! o_O

Absolutely Rachel, it's all very interesting to me :) Sadly, contrary to what I had hoped, things have only got worse with Wright's :( Thanks for your thoughts on your new sharpening system, I feel the same with the SharpMaker diamond rods

I'm starting to think I should put everything on a spreadsheet. At least it would be legible if I were to find it.

That is ill news about Wright's. Maybe Charlie will make us some more.

People always love the white stuff when it first comes every season. Many fret if this year we'll have a "white Christmas" or not.
I try to stay off the streets while people get their annual snow amnesia sorted out. I love a green Christmas. I filled up my 5-gallon gas can today; it's pretty cold.

Good evening fellow Porchonians. Been some very interesting reading on the thread this week. Was particularly interested in @r8shell post about her new sharpener, really interested to see her thoughts about it after some more use. I think sometimes sharpeners are like knives, "Very Addictive" Maybe it is just me, but i am always looking at new sharpening implements to improve my skills, and just find putting some time aside to sharpen some knives so therapeutic and relaxing. I planted my tomato plants this week, so have some store bought ones which i am going to have for lunch, will be sliced up with my polished rosewood lamb foot. These toms will not be a patch on my homegrown ones. Hope everyone has a good and safe weekend.;):D

Nice photo mate, I like the look of your strop :)

I am growing very attached to my african rosewood.
I had been drooling over one every time JohnDF JohnDF would post pictures of his :) .

Glad you're enjoying it Dan :D

So it had to come  ......The white stuff I mean. :D
Folks, do not let the apparent beauty and allure of the white stuff deceive you !!!

BUT the white stuff is treacherous and evil  !
I do not like the white stuff !

It has been very disappointing Dylan :( Those are superb pics my friend, what a beautiful range of horn

I know the feeling Jer  I do hope Charlie will make more at some point :)

Morning Guardians :) Boy, did it rain here yesterday! There's quite a bit of flooding roundabouts, with more flood warnings issued. My home will be OK, but there's a good deal of transport disruption. With more rain forecast for the weekend, I don't think I'm going to be going far. Hope everyone has had a good week

This is the River Aire in Leeds last weekend, but I'm sure it will be a lot higher today. Carrying my Rosewood Hartshead Barlow again

Thank you H herder . I dream of one day having a heated little shop to turn during our long Canadian winters.
Beautiful lambs your Waynorth and Hartshead

Hey Jer, if your place is green this Christmas I am coming over :D:thumbsup:

At least it made for a couple of great pics Dan :)
Thanks Jack :)

Good Morning Guardians
My son did NOT make it into the the band he auditioned for. He has another audition coming up in a few weeks for an even higher ranked band. Funny thing is, he probably has a better shot at making the better band. It plays into his strengths more and he's already part of their "B" level band. Fingers crossed again. :)

In honor of my son's mood today... Something Black... Lol ;)

Thanks, I guess he better get used to it if he's going to be trying out for the "best of the best" (tough love). ;)
He plays the contrabass bugle, it's a marching tuba. Just picture a 40 lb. giant trumpet that sits on your shoulder. :D

My Baby Boy...
I wish him luck. (I'm glad my son doesn't have to carry his instrument--pianos are heavy!)

Sorry to hear that John, hope he's not too disappointed :( Fingers crossed for a successful coming audition

Good morning!

John, sorry to read that about your son. I hope he makes the next one. What does he play?

Still pondering a name for this beaut.

Nice pic :)

Good morning Guardians! :) Linus is quickly learning that food will be a part of his visit to the Half/Stop home. I’m hopeful to get some “Adventure” type photos with Linus this weekend. I’ll keep y’all posted! :)

That is quite a workout!

Here brass bands are most commonly associated with the coal-mining industry. The coal-mines are all closed now, and most of the bands went with them, but a few still survive

Smashing AC Vince :)

Hope everyone is having a good Friday :) It's been raining again here, and I decided I needed some Vietnamese Pho to warm me up, forgot my camera unfortunately. Just had my mate's kids for an hour, which was fun :D ;)
