I apparently compiled the following quotes last Sunday evening and never made time to respond to them. The fact that they're still here also means that I did no other multi quoting on The Porch all week!

Where has all my discretionary time gone???

I'll see if I can remember why I quoted the posts below.
...
What great shots. That Chickadee looks a lot like our 'Coal Tit' we have in the UK.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday.
And your crested tit looks rather similar to our tufted titmouse, David.

Good Morning Guardians
I've decided to start a weekly Lambsfoot rotation, ala GT.
This week will be the Rosewood, who will keep me company today while watching football.
Fall colors still around my area...
Nice pic, John!

I hope you enjoy weekly rotation. I like it because it gives a longer interval to "bond with" and use a knife than is available with daily switching. I have to admit that I also like having to make only one knife choice decision each week instead of seven.
...
I was talking about the Chestnut Roaster the other week, once a staple of British streets, but fast disappearing. I came across an old couple unloading their little roasting truck, they looked to be both in their 80's, and I can't see them wanting to do it much longer
I headed on down to the river, and on to the Royal Armouries museum
...
The first street vendor of roasted chestnuts I ever saw was in Sevilla, Spain the day after Christmas a few years ago when I visited my daughter in Spain, and he had a set-up very similar to that in your pic, Jack.

Couple of grand lambsfoots you have out and about!

...
I just bought some today Gary, and they were described as
plain old democratic Galas, so perhaps I have been going to the wrong greengrocer!

I may eat one later and think of good old Tom Paine

Great pic of your Cracker Jack

We have a saying in the USA: "How do you like them apples?"
Thanks for complimenting Cracker Jack.

- Thank you GT. I wish you would accept that you are eminently “worthy,” because you are. You don’t have to catch up. A pleasure when you appear. Til next time, me thinks.
Your Cracker Jack looks sharp on center stage.
Good Morning Guardians

Thanks for the encouragement, Harvey.

Fine photo of your stag HHB SFO, including some green grass!

...
TY Jack, it's a lot of fun and get's the family out for walks
...
Looks like mutual mesmerization between the chickadee and you, Dan!

Your African rosewood lambsfoot is a handsome addition to your flock!

...
Possibly... or maybe just a "lazy guy thing".

...
HEY!

I resemble that remark!

Good afternoon Guardians! I hope y’all are having a good day! My Ashley’s Choice SFO is in the pocket today!

Gary, thank you for the Ironwood Bigun compliment my friend! I know you and I are fortunate to be among the Guardians that have these beautiful Ashley’s Choice SFO’s. They are all unique and wonderful knives and your Cracker Jack is a great example!
Your AC is Always Charming, Ron!

Thanks for speaking highly of Cracker Jack.
People from down my way would say, "Mais, dat's a dang egret."
Looks like a Great Egret to me, but I’m no expert on shore birds.
Shawn & Dave, that was my first thought, but when I checked my "bird book", the range for egrets didn't extend as far north as Michigan's Upper Peninsula. But maybe the range has changed along with climate changes, because the black legs and yellow beak on the bird whose photo I posted sure seem to clinch the egret ID!

Thanks for the relevant Reddit post, too, Shawn.

- Thank you kindly, GT. Your Cracker Jack looks very Spiffy.
Thanks GT. Your Cracker Jack is first rate.
Thanks, Harvey & ED; the ACs are without doubt lovely knives!
I do like the horn on that one, thanks. Good eye, GT. That is a Steppenwolf lp.
Haha, I always enjoy your poetic comments, Gary.

Waynorth on the levee.
Thanks for the info, FBC.

That jigged bone WCLF is about as good as it gets!

Vacation memories.

WARM vacation memories, in particular!

It is the coat of arms for the Company of Cutlers of Hallomshire.
Thanks for the info on that bolster stamp.

San Antonio is the only other place I've lived. I LOVE that town. Did you stay at the Menger (where Teddy Roosevelt recruited some Rough Riders), or The Emily Morgan? Those are the closest hotels to the Alamo.
Long live the Oxford comma!
Vince, I was there in April, 1985, I think, and considering that I have a hard time remembering what I ate at my most recent meal, I'm unlikely to have reliable memory of where I stayed!

Actually, I just pulled up a Google map of San Antonio, and saw pics of the Menger and the Crockett Hotel, and I'm quite sure I stayed at the Crockett and walked past the Menger on my way to the Convention Center.
The Extraordinary Adventures of Linus the Lambsfoot
Final post: I had Linus packed up and ready to leave, but my wife asked me why? "We're going to the Island today!" My granddaughter was celebrating her first birthday at the other grandparents' house on Padre Island.

Here's my granddaughter with her mother:

All good things must come to an end. Here's Linus bidding
adieu to his lambsfoot buddies:
It's been fun! On to Tennessee!
Thanks for an extra, surprise installment of Linus' adventures, Vince!
The birthday girl is a cute kid!!

Tons of great pics!

- Much thanks, GT. When it comes to snow, you and I are on the same page.

Can’t get enough of Cracker Jack.
Thanks again, Harvey.

I often judge the quality of a year solely on the basis of snow shoveling. If I don't have to shovel before Thanksgiving, I consider it a good year. If I don't have to shovel before Christmas, I call it a fantastic year!

Impressive multi-quote Gary, and great avian pics

If it's legal in your state, I'd say that a flat-sap or blackjack makes an excellent self-defence tool
It's been great seeing Cracker Jack
Thanks for your kind words GT, and for all the great pics of Cracker Jack, you're a dilligent Guardian my friend

...
Thanks for the kind words about Cracker Jack, Jack.

Thanks also for the self-defense advice; turns out blackjacks and saps are among the many banned "devices" in Michigan. I once found a website about geriatric "stick fighting"; maybe I should start carrying a cane/walking stick (and start practicing actually hitting what I swing it at).
Lam Jack for me this week. I need to put a better edge on it; my ceramic candy dish lid doesn't seem to bring the edge back like it does on most of my knives.
