Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

You deserve your "Brew and Smoke.

I do have my moments of self-indulgence :D. Thank you, my friend.

I'd have thought the same Dylan :) You've got the making of a great time there my friend, cool pic of your DamLamb :)

Thank you, Jack!

I've had beer, I've had mead but never Braggot. It sounds an interesting drink and I'm going to have to track it down. Seems the perfect drink for this time of year.
Here's a link to an article on Anglo-Saxon drinks you may find interesting.
https://www.tha-engliscan-gesithas.org.uk/archives/the-alcoholic-drinks-of-the-anglo-saxons

I enjoyed the Braggot immensely. The brewery that makes it over here has a number of variations but only had a few available when I visited the pub that they were present at. The Red was delicious, the IPA tasted like an IPA... and the other offering they had was a Farmhouse Saison. I don't like Saisons so I skipped that one. They have a Stout I'd like to try and a Blonde as well.

Thank you for the link, I've added it to my reading list, I'm looking forward to checking it out.

That's a great drinking horn btw! But do you have a holder to place it in?

Thank you! And the only holder I have for it presently is my hand so I have to drink up before I can get anything else done . That said, I've been meaning to at least make a tabletop holder of sorts, should make for a simple project.

The Extraordinary Adventures of Linus the Lambsfoot Part 2

Well fellow Guardians, my time with Linus has come to an end. I boxed him up this morning for his journey to visit Greg @WhittlinAway. I have one last installment with Linus as I showed him some of the local sights around town yesterday. Just a short visit with him before his farewell.

The star in the lower right hand corner indicates the location of Cleveland.

Here is Linus visiting our local Cherokee Chieftain. This sculpture was carved by Peter Toth in 1974 and donated to the City of Cleveland as a reminder of the region's significant Cherokee heritage.

Here is a plaque briefly explaining Cleveland's role in the Civil War. Being located only 25 miles from Chattanooga and the fact that we had a major rail line we saw significant activity from both sides during the war.

Next I took Linus by the Bradley County courthouse to let him visit.

After visiting the courthouse we went to our local greenway. We had a good walk together. Linus wanted to stop and feed the Ducks. He used everyone of my quarters! :D I also showed our Cleveland post. This post contains the names and distances of all the other towns named Cleveland in the United States. The sun was pretty bright so I hope you can get the jest of the photos.

Edited to add: Yesterday Pam and I were doing a little shopping for the children of her brothers Care Giver. WE bought some gloves and other items. Linus liked the idea of gift giving so here he is with the gloves we got them.

So glad it arrived safely Jack :)

One great thing about winter in the air... One of my coworkers has two boys in Scouts, and this time of year they do a popcorn fundraiser. Have enough microwave popcorn from them to last another year or so, so this year we went with the chocolate lovers tin :D

Nice shot of yours on the rocks (pun intended)!

(I may have a shot on the rocks myself when I get home--maybe a double!)
Thanks Vince!
I could use a double on the rocks about now!:thumbsup:
Looks like that one has been getting plenty of use Dennis :)
It is a fantastic user, great knife!:)
It's a spot called Paul's Pond Dennis, and I'd love to go fishing there :) When I was a kid, water pollution was so bad here, I had to travel 2 counties away to fish, now I see people pulling out fish out of virtually every river, lake, and water-hole I come across :)
That is great that they got the pollution under control! I still don't understand how people can just throw their trash all over the place...a real pet peeve of mine, and I don't mind voicing it when out camping or just hiking!
Great pic my friend :)
Thanks much, Jack!
Dennis. Smoke and prayers up for you, @waynorth , @Modoc ED and anyone else dealing with any medical issues currently.
Thank you very much for the well wishes, Mark!!
I'm doing much better, and I hope that Charlie and Ed are having some good news and test results!!
Strumming good tunes with your Lamb.:thumbsup:
:D:thumbsup: Thanks, John! Wood and steel...can't go wrong however it might be configured!:)
Thank you Dennis. Great looking horn on your Lamb. Hope things are going your way, my friend.
Much better, thank you so much my friend!:)

Looked like a great final adventure for Linus and Ron!!:D:thumbsup:
Another day. Heavy snow predicted here through this week so when out and about I just may need Morse Code and a compass in an emergency along with my Standard with Buffalo Horn covers - a gift from Jack Black Jack Black .

Looks like your prepared...but might need some "antifreeze "!:thumbsup:

Very nice photo, Vince! Great looking stag!:thumbsup:
A 'German Christmas Market' visits Leeds each year, but since it arrives in October, and departs at the end of November, and gets packed with youngsters enthusiastically queuing for up to 2 hours to get the opportunity to pay a lot of money to drink a pint of lager in a large shed, I don't usually attend
We use to go to the Christmas Market in Frankfurt when I was stationed there. Really enjoyed it there, and it's also when I discovered hot Gluehwein and ice cold Apfelkorn!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I do love a photo of a blokes tool kit. I used to collect screwdrivers, please don't ask me why, i just like em for some reason.

One of my coworkers has two boys in Scouts, and this time of year they do a popcorn fundraiser.
I miss the Boy Scout popcorn, but I don't miss standing in front of the stores all day trying to sell it.

Hope the moving back in the castle goes well!!
It all went really well until today. They did everything perfect right up until our walk-through. We pointed out a few things they missed and a few things they needed to fix. They had a crew come in today to wrap it up and they made a mess of everything they touched. Pretty frustrating.

I will have my Hartshead in pocket tomorrow to celebrate Lancashire Day

I know Jack mentioned it too, but I thought Lancashire Day was the 27th, on Wednesday. It's still Monday the 25th here, and only 4:13 am on the 26th in England right now. Or is it a two-day feast, like Purim?

Darn it! You're right Vince! Sorry folks, I got it completely wrong, going to have to re-set my schedule

Smashing pic Dylan

Me too Ron, it seemed like a bit of an extravagance at the time, but I was admiring mine the other day, and I'm glad I have it :)

Thanks again Mike, that sounds like a great way to raise funds, and it's made for a fab pic :)

Happy Lancashire Day, Guardians!

I'm very sorry about the Lancashire Day SNAFU :(

Yeah, me too, I reckon there's still a lot of work to do, but it's been great to see the rivers return to the point where they will even support trout and salmon. I remember in the 70's, there was a headline in the local paper because someone had caught a small fish in the Sheffield canal, which was so filthy it was not thought capable of supporting life

Lined with factories, this stretch of the River Don was once heavily polluted. Even in the 80's, when I used to paddle down it, the advice, if you came out of the kayak, was to get a tetanus shot o_O

Sorry to hear that John, I have had some bad tradesmen myself in the past o_O Sorry again for getting the day wrong for Lancashire Day, I knew the date, I just got the day wrong!

Had the big 'un out today to make a snack for my apple-eating buddy. Every night at 8:45 she starts eyeballing me to let me know its time. You could set your watch to that dog.

That's a very good pic, cute pup :)

Once again Vince, I am very grateful that you spotted my mistake  I think they've been celebrating since Saturday, but Lancashire Day is actually tomorrow

Morning Guardians, I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow for my chip butty and Eccles cakes  Maybe the weather will be better for Wednesday, pretty miserable again today o_O Hope everyone is having a good week
