Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning!
dSyTNac.jpg

Yes sir. I got a 93 and REALLY wanted the Waynorth Lambfoot rather than the Ramfoot but couldn't afford to buy one at secondary prices. I took a Lansky puck and A TON of hours hand grinding away at the spine on the blade until it become what you see here.
Wow that's a lot of work well done

...
Did they come wrapped in paper? :) Apparently oranges/tangerines/clementines have a very long traditional association with Christmas. When I was a kid, we'd get an apple, an orange, and a new penny in our stockings, but I don't know if that was just a local tradition :thumbsup:
...
...
I also recall my dad telling me they used to get oranges/tangerines at Christmas so it must of been a tradition in Lancashire to. :thumbsup:
Here in south Texas I remember getting oranges--maybe apples, too--and nuts (walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts, filberts, almonds)
...
And like Vince Prester John Prester John , growing up in New Mexico, we got oranges, walnuts, pecans etc... in our stockings along with a couple of small gifts.
...
I think the only oranges I ever ate when I was growing up were the ones we got in a bag of fruit, candy, and nuts handed to all the kids after the school Christmas program each year.

Excellent photo of your stag Hartshead Barlow SFO, José! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
Then I developed my premium secret line of bird feed LOL :D and now they mob us. This video was taken on a super cold day in which they were acting extra bold ...almost frantic.
I guess they needed the extra calories :) to survive.
In the middle of summer is hard sometimes to even get the chance to feed one or two (if you are lucky).
Amazing video, Dan! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: My wife is a fanatic about chickadees, and I plan to show her the video, at the risk of her attempting to track you down and commit matrimony on you :eek::rolleyes:!

Hey guardians, I have had good intentions to pop into this amazing thread but for some reason I've been sidetracked, even though this one has occupied my pocket for sometime:)
...
Superb lambsfoot model, Paul! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

...
...
After my stressful day yesterday, I got home, hoping for an easier time, but I had an 'emergency' proof-reading job come in, very tedious work, which kept me up until after 1.00am o_O Hoping for a better day today :rolleyes: Have a good one Guardians :thumbsup:

DIRQnbT.jpg
I enjoyed that Mae West/W.C. Fields trailer, Jack! :thumbsup:;):D
I hope things are looking up for you, as you have us looking up at your HHB in that notable pic! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

The Extraordinary Adventures of Linus the Lambsfoot!

Linus has arrived to the Eastern Shore of Maryland!

cigarrodog cigarrodog took good care of him and sent him with a treat made locally - Chocolate Dipped Caramel Pretzels.

I suspect that he will get in some hunting and maybe a photo safari over the next two weeks. Today he will be an office assistant.

@Pàdruig
Beware of Lambsfoots bearing gifts! :eek:;)

Thank you Gary, the haggis pasty was tasty! :D I would try anything at one time, less so today, but I think you might be surprised by haggis, and since a lot of folks are wary of them, vegetarian haggis are widely available, and I have to say they're quite decent. Most of the flavour in both types is predominately oats and spices. It's Burn's Night on the 25th, so don't miss out ;) :D :thumbsup:
...
Nice to see Man Jack again :) :thumbsup:
...
I'll take your haggis recommendations under advisement, Jack. ;):thumbsup:
Man Jack appreciates your remark. :)

...
Great picture... Great knife... Hope you're doing well, GT. :cool::thumbsup:
Thanks, John. :)

The job is going really good. Here is a vid of where I work.
...
Jake does like basking in the sun.
Great pic of your sensational senator, GT.
Glad to hear the job is going well. Interesting video; will you be riding a bike with some kind of space age fairing soon?? :D:D The senator is grateful for your vote! :)

...
I received this book as a Christmas gift from Geoff Tweedale :) Some great pics of Stan and his work :thumbsup:
...
Exceptional gift, Jack! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

You've met them? There's Grumpyashell and Sleepyashell and Sneezyashell, etc. :D
...
:p:thumbsup::p

Thanks, Gary.

It's a Texas thing, although some neighboring states (Oklahoma, Arkansas, e.g.) are probably familiar with it.
Then I don't feel so "backward" for never having the delicacy; thanks for the info, Vince. :thumbsup::cool::cool:

We draw the line at different places. I'd eat haggis. Had some at a Scottish booth in a multi-cultural festival in San Antonio once. It may not have been totally authentic--maybe no sheep's stomach or whatever they use. But I'd love to try the real thing.

:cool::thumbsup:

Stately Senator. :thumbsup:
...
You're a gustatory adventurer, Vince. :cool::thumbsup::cool:
Thanks for noticing Man Jack. :)

...
Thank you GT !
There is a great number of them at this park.
It seems to me their numbers have increased over the past few years as more folks bring them food for the winter.
Still, it must be hard to survive Canadian winters for such little creatures.
...
Thanks for the additional chickadee info, Dan. :)

...
5K Qs 5K Qs - Thank you GT. Despite what some say:), The Senator Lambs Foot is one of my favorite patterns. Yours is very elegant.
...
Albert Oates with multi tool pry bar.
...
Thanks for appreciating my stag senator, Harvey. :)
Your Albert Oates is opulent! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Jack, I think one of the reasons I like your stag HHB so much is that the ridges on the mark side stag remind me of the veins on the backs of my hands! :rolleyes::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That's a wonderful photo! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks very much for thinking of me Jack and Leon.

Apologies for my recent absence, I’ve just been busy with the usual round of year end social engagements, a lot of work, and a string of overseas guests to show around.
...
Great to see you check in, Chin! :):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Howdy Guardians! I thought I'd pop in for a spell and make the rounds. Still only one lamb in my stall, but it's just right:
...
You certainly have had some unique lambsfoots, Joshua! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good Morning Guardians... Boldly Go...
Love the Federation Lambsfoot, John! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

It is a really cool place to work. I don't want to give the wrong impression, I'm just a grunt. Maybe one day they will let me test drive the rocket. ;):p:D

A pic of Betty from back in the day.

Love the "depth" of the blade etch in your photo, Harvey; it seems bigger than life! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Another fun day at work...
W:eek:W, John, you work at an intergalactic space port??? :cool::D:D:cool:

How bout a little tri-lamb for ya today! None of these are “perfect” but I love them all.

Admirable trifecta! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Evening Guardians! During my hunt for the Ebony WCLF, I came across the Bone version which I bought on an impulse to hold me over temporarily. Now that I have both, I think I enjoy the bone more. The little bit of extra heft, feel of the jigging, and looks are just right. Regardless, never parting with either one.

Oh yeah, it just so happens to be a rare “S” model too. :p

( I can only imagine how odd this may look to non knife people ... a knife + a chickadee + lamb figurines stolen from the Nativity scene :))

Chicken-fried steak seems to make folks reply quickly! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup:

GT, I can assure you that after eating chicken fried steak, you won’t be doing anything quickly. :D

I received this book as a Christmas gift from Geoff Tweedale :) Some great pics of Stan and his work :thumbsup:

Jack, for a second there I though, “Is that one of your Hartshead Barlows featured on the cover?!” Then I realized it was your Hartshead Barlow on the book. :rolleyes: Sorry, I’m a bit slow today; must be that chicken fried steak I had for lunch. :D

It's a Texas thing, although some neighboring states (Oklahoma, Arkansas, e.g.) are probably familiar with it.

You can get chicken fried steak in Arkansas, for sure. ;) :thumbsup: You‘ll usually find it on the menu next to the redundantly-named “chicken fried chicken.” (Arkansans eat a lot of chicken; I’m surprised it’s not the state bird. :D)

My iphone is not the best for winter pics. The glare of the snow seems to affect the camera sensors. I am afraid I am stuck in this mode for the next few months .... oh well :)

I’ve experienced that problem a lot since moving to Minnesota. I will say that the photo editing tools they have on iPhone now can help out a lot. I‘m far from an expert at photo editing, but if you play around a little with the brightness, contrast, temperature, etc. you might be able to get photos more to your liking.

Here’s your first photo with just a couple tweaks I did on my iPhone.

Morning Guardians, apologies for my absence yesterday. I had rather a hectic day, and didn't get home until late. I'm looking forward to catching up though :) Friday's here, so I hope everyone has got through the week OK, and that you have a great weekend ahead :thumbsup:

Congrats on your acquisitions and welcome aboard, but I think our Wright's SFO days may be over.

Welcome to the thread Stephen, looking forward to seeing your Lambsfoot knives :) Sadly, as Jer says, it's very unlikely that there'll be any more SFOs produced by Wright's :( :thumbsup:

Welcome mate, you have found a great place, but you're gunna have to get yourself a second job.:rolleyes:

:eek: :D :thumbsup:

That sounds like a LOT of hard work with a Lansky Puck c-mac c-mac , skillful job. I may be wrong, but looking at your pics, the knife doesn't quite look like a Lambsfoot. One of the defining features of the Lambsfoot is that the spine of the blade and the edge aren't parallel, as you'll see from your other examples. Currently, it just looks like a nice Sheepsfoot to me, but of course I'm only going on the photos. What do you think?

Hope you're keeping warm Willie :) :thumbsup:

Looking good Joshua :thumbsup:

Nice oldie Ed, hope you're doing OK :thumbsup:
