Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Ordered an A.Wright & Son Lambsfoot off the auction site. Took it 6 days to get here from England, which isn't bad.

Action is super gritty. The blade, when closed, is beyond off center. On the back side, there were sort of splinters or slivers of metal where the back spring intersected with the liner.
The blade grind looks pretty decent.

All in all so far, I like it and think I got my money's worth. Going to sharpen it up and maybe sand it a little. Already put a bunch of nano oil in the joint to start clearing it out.

Looking forward to putting some miles on it.

Six days isn't bad :) Wright's leave all sorts of gunk in there, so give the joint a good flush out with oil and compressed/canned air  A lot of Wright's knives sold on the auction sites are old 'seconds', but their blade-centring and general QC seems to have got worse in the past year. It was never very good, but in my recent experience you're more likely to get an un-centred blade than a centred one. Clearly, this can be fixed, (none of my SFOs have uncentred blades), but they choose not to bother o_O Still, that Big 'Un will make a good user, and should sharpen up alright, then you can save your WCLF for best ;)

Congrats on your acquisitions and welcome aboard, but I think our Wright's SFO days may be over.

Thank you .oh really that's a shame they look like a great knife they are very distinctive looking both beautiful and very functional .I can picture them with a secondary pen blade .someone might post one for sale but I'd say that's unlikely because people seem to be useing them with pride

Warning mate, you DO NOT mention "s-------t" on the lambfoot forum, forbodin.

Evening Guardians! During my hunt for the Ebony WCLF, I came across the Bone version which I bought on an impulse to hold me over temporarily. Now that I have both, I think I enjoy the bone more. The little bit of extra heft, feel of the jigging, and looks are just right. Regardless, never parting with either one.

Oh yeah, it just so happens to be a rare “S” model too. :P
