Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I don't know, Jack. I prefer the self-checkouts because I'm faster than most of the checkers, and I don't have to make small talk with myself!
I'm stubborn about it. Someone who does something professionally all day really should be faster at it than I am. And if I buy beer, an employee has to come over and key in some code anyway. (the auto scanner can't see my grey hairs)
The only ones I use are in the post office, so I don't have to argue with them about the knives I'm sending because they don't know their own regulations o_O
Fortunately that isn't a problem at my post office. Must be a Texas thing. If the clerks recognize you and you're friendly, everything goes smoother. I told one clerk he was welcome to read my knife magazines & catalogues as long as he put them back in my PO box when he was done, but he said that's not allowed. ;):D

We can't lose: got my lucky lambsfoot. Go, Pack, Go!

I'm stubborn too--ask anybody! But I'm unfortunately very impatient. When I do buy alcohol at the checkout stand, there is usually someone right there to enter the proper code. If not, I ain't shy about calling one!

They're certainly faster than the darn machines in my experience. I take a rucsac shopping with me, and then have to answer a load of questions about the amount of carrier-bags I'm (not using), then it's "Unexpected item in baggage area!", and "An assistant will be with you shortly", etc. I want to get served by a human-being, not by a third-rate robot, and I go there to shop, not to work for the @4%£#$&s! :verygrumpy:

Texas seems to be the land of common-sense!

My ancient grocery is obviously trying to drive us into the robo lanes. Oh, and ask one of our associates how you can help put them out of work by using our app.
There's a smaller and more expensive grocery with a 10% discount for geezers on Wednesdays and live cashiers every day. Time to switch.

I just have to remember.

Sounds great :) I don't think I've read Dune since 1980, but a quote from the first novel ("...may his name live in infamy forever.") popped into my head just yesterday :D

That's good to hear Dylan :) Thank you, that tea was awful, it was in quite a fancy cafe too o_O Good to see you enjoying your Hartshead my friend, and a fine whiskey and smoke of course ;) :)

What a nightmare! I hate that stuff too  I hope I'm not going to set up a new online account when I buy a new freezer  o_O ;)

Cheers Dave :)

I've seen a few nicks, that had been put in with Dremels, which looked absolutely terrible. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valour ;)

Yeah, great place, you'd love it mate, the beer is always good too, and they have pork pies on the bar too :)

(I don't know if any of you folks are affected, but over here, a small, but increasing number of businesses won't take cash! o_O May their names live in infamy forever!!!)

I like kids too, but I think pubs are an adult environment, and where there are potential dangers, to toddlers crawling across the floor for example. I like family rooms, where people can take their kids to eat and socialise, and separate play areas outside, but some pubs here are overrun with kids, running about screaming, while their parents get drunk. I saw one mother with a young child, crawling across the floor of a pub on her hands and knees, she was so drunk, a couple of years back  If I take kids to the pub, I always tell them they're going to a grown-up place, where certain standards of behaviour are expected - sit down and enjoy your drink, no running around, no shouting and screaming, and no climbing on the tables, otherwise we'll all get thrown out!

Looking good Taylor :)

Hope you had a nice evening Mr Pink

Good morning Guardians, hope everyone is having a lovely weekend :) It's been raining here since late afternoon yesterday, but I have a chore list as long as Meadowlark Lemon's arms, so I'll be in the house all day. Hoping I can spend some time hanging out here of course ;) Have a great Sunday folks

Very interesting comment you make about businesses not taking cash, it is on the increase over here, recently we had a computer melt down with one of the leading banks, a lot of these businesses could not operate, and have a guess who were the first and loudest complaining? I will let you work that one out.:D:D:D

Fantastic! :D Great pic Vince, good luck my friend :)
Thanks, Jack. That certificate on the wall shows that I own a share of the Green Bay Packers. They are the only publicly owned major sports franchise. They have only offered stock for sale four times in the last 100 years, and only twice in my lifetime.
I don't get dividends, but I do get a vote at our annual stockholders' meetings.

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Cheers to you and the hard to come by Stingo. Fine assortment of images. I think of robotic automation as unavoidable as the Industrial Revolution. Whole swathes of the population will need to figure out how to survive. We’ll(or you all) will see how accurate the prognostication for new job creation is. Heaven help us. And that’s not even taking the Sigularity into account.

r8shell r8shell - Thank you Rachel. It was perfect. I’ve always admired your Ebony Big ún.

@Ramrodmb - Thank you Mark. Ari’s a trooper, an all weather companion. A bit of rain did nothing to dampen his spirit. Your pair of Lamb Foot Image is incredibly fine.

JohnDF JohnDF - Very Happy to hear your Mother is all right. I hear you when you can’t be too careful at 97. In this instance, “All’s well that ends well.” Your Ebony WCLF is as spectacular as the image.

E40 E40 - Looks like Linus is off to a fine start, Fred.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

Great picture.
We used to see so many of those being carried, now it's more rare.
