I found packing tape residue left from Christmas!![]()
I've been a bad guardian, and must resolve to do better. I'll use my lambsfoot more often and clean it more conscientiously.![]()
I'll be kind of glad to get back to 'normal' after the holidays, but heading out for a short hike tomorrow, before returning to work the following day. Taking my Guardian along![]()

Fantastic photo, Jack. Have a wonderful hike my friend!
My Guardians Lambsfoot got some quality time with the sharpener this afternoon. I like a fairly acute edge on my pocket knives, so I reset the bevel to about 13 DPS. I have to hand it to A. Wright and co., this one took much less work than my standard buffalo lambsfoot from them.

It will benefit from more stropping, but, now that it has my preferred edge and is shaving sharp, I can confidently predict that it will see a lot of pocket time in 2018.
Happy New Year, Guardians!
I've been enjoying getting caught up on my favorite threads here on this slow Tuesday morning. Now that the holiday season is largely over, I am looking forward to spending a bit more time here and will hopefully be able to tackle some of Greg's indexing needs in the very near future (if he still needs help that is).
I am rather impressed with the patina I see on some of the Guardians edition Lambsfoot blades! I'm afraid my Guardians blade has not seen a lot of cutting chores other than preparing a chip butty sandwich awhile back and some minor cutting here and there, certainly not enough to acquire much of a patina quite yet. It is getting carried today though and perhaps it will help me prepare my lunch in a few hours.
The outdoor light had an oddly pinkish hue to it early this morning and I am not happy with any of the pictures I ended up taking so I hope you do not mind an office pic or two.

Well...I have this thread pulled up in another window and I only made it about 20 pages before ordering one from the UK!
I’ve made it to page 103 now after a few days of reading and can’t wait for it to arrive! Looks like a great working blade. Thanks everyone for all the great pictures and wonderful commentary I am really learning a lot.
I’ll be sure to post pictures when it arrives.
ETA:
Phew! Finally all caught up. Took three solid days of reading and I’m more excited than ever to receive my first Lambsfoot.
Awesome Shots of your knives everyone...... HWF...You will NOT be disappointed my friend- good on you!

I have been searching through my photo's- as finding time to take photo's these days can be quite challenging- as yep....you guessed it- Jack sent me this Lambs-foot a few years ago..... I just couldn't find the photo's so I went to my storage lock up - that in itself is a mission to get to, and went straight to my Sheffield's - here she was as if the Knife knew I was searching it out....this Horned Beaut is a saynor- pictured with Mr. Wright....

I used to have a few older Pampa Lockwoods over the years- but gifted them at different stages - funny isnt it how things are available one day- and impossible to get the next lol.
Note how the Saynor uses the more modern Kick- and the bit I love about the wrights- the Stove Pipe Kick is still in- that to me is double
Ladies, Gentlemen - thank you for taking the time to read about our generous folk we have here- I am over the moon- and the new year has only just started- maybe this is my year to strive!
