Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

New Year's Resolution: Stop kidding myself I can modify folders.

On the other hand, there is now less doubt than ever as to which is my beater lambsfoot.

Here's a serendipitous photo of my lambsfoot. I was trying to find good light for an indoor shot on the top floor of the college library by the west windows rather late in the day. I took this photo of the pile side, and was surprised to find that a sunset landscape was reflected in the glossy horn.

Now that it is a beater, have you tried steaming out dents in wood? It looks like it would probably work quite well here. Just a thought.

Neat! If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have assumed that the landscape reflection was part of the horn.

If you don't like the way it looks, but it functions, you will carry it as a beater. You will use it harder and more often than you would a more "perfect" knife. That knife will have more memories and sentiment attached to it as the years go by. That knife will become your favorite.

This is my New Years Prediction. :D

So, since this is about LAMBSFEET, why do you guys have a SHEEP on your sign/label?

Gary that’s a great photo! The shiny buffalo horn covers are very reflective!

But, today is Saturday which calls for some Sambar Stag! ;)

This is an outrage!

I was a little surprised to find the tip bent at 90 degrees when I was finished, but I guess the open knife did spring out of my hand and fall on cement at one point. May have been a factor.

r8shl's right; it will get used this way. That misbegotten mutation of a pen blade added too much weight and bulk, especially considering I wasn't able to soften the spring much. Sooner or later I would have broken the pen spring and arrived here anyway. (Or broken something else; it's a very rugged spring.)

I also found a way around peening the spring pins, to avoid splitting the wood. I just nipped them off, poured super glue around them, and filed them smooth(ish). The action is surprisingly good, considering I've made gaps through which you could drive a coach and four horses. The pull is lighter, perhaps due to undersized pins, though I thought they were right at the time. All in all, not bad for a troglodyte.

  :D

Went in one of the York museums earlier. Philistine that I am, I just wandered around taking pics of my Lambsfoot on old stuff! :D
