Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Morning Guardians, how is everyone doing? Hope everyone is staying safe and well, and doing OK :) And that Mark Ramrodmb Ramrodmb and Modoc ED Modoc ED continue to get better

I've just eaten the last of the bread I had in, in the form of my morning toast. Good bread is something I adore, but I don't think I'm going to go out to get anymore, not now at least. I'll just have to have something different for my breakfast. I guess nobody is going to have a great weekend, but I hope everyone gets by OK, and finds something enjoyable to do

Thought I'd go fancy today ;)

Answers to "burning questions" some of you might have.

Q: What the heck does that boy have in his nose?
A: It's my feeding tube. The wife hooks up a syringe to a gizmo that's in my pocket and pushes my food through the tube into my stomach.

Q: Does he always wear a hat in the house?
A: No. My hair wasn't combed when Cindy took the picture so I threw the hat on so I'd look pretty in the picture.

Q: Does he have his pants on?;)
A: I can neither confirm nor deny that. I will say though that I was comfy when the picture was taken.:)

Lambfoot content: The Lambfoot knife on the computer screen is the same one in front of the white coffee cup on the desk.

I hope all you Guardians and those looking in have a great day. I'm going to. The wife is taking me for a ride later so that I can get some fresh air.

Jack Black Jack Black - Above my right shoulder and head, hanging on the wall, is the Brass Anchor Bottle Opener you sent me.

I'm going to drive around and rinse the salt off the car. Maybe buy a mini wood-lathe, except they'll be gone now that I've made up my mind. So I'll have saved a few bucks.

I ordered 2 lbs of anthracite. $4 for the coal, down from $9. Shipping is $9+, but still not bad. After this rain, I'll drag out the forge stuff and try a couple of projects. I have some coal from an estate sale, and some coal from before I went coke, which I should use first when it's wet out anyway. It tends to popcorn.
Oh, duh. Preliminary project, a stand for the larger anvil.

I love good bread (who doesn't?) I've been trying to lower my A1c (blood glucose) by only eating 100% whole grains and in moderation. One silver lining of this Stay-at-Home order is that I've lost about 5 pounds just from not eating restaurant food. :) Been experimenting with making rye or almond flour crackers and flatbread, and I might try to see if I can make pikelets. I'll have to see if there are any recipes that don't call for yeast, since I don't have any around here. They'll probably come out more like pancakes, but that doesn't sound too bad.

If it doesn't get too hot this afternoon, I'll do some weeding in the garden.

Lookin' good, Modoc ED Modoc ED  Will you transition to a liquid diet by mouth before solid food? Time to look up some blender recipes.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

I love how you match your knives to your "subjects":) for great color composition.

Thought I'd go fancy today ;)

Thank you Ed and you too have a great day, enjoy some fresh air and keep on getting better :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Maybe buy a mini wood-lathe
Wood turning must be one of the most therapeutic things yo can do  ....after you stop getting frequent violent catches, pieces flying off the lathe and hitting you in the forehead, ruining/breaking your piece on that very last pass with the gouge to smooth some imaginary imperfection  ... don't ask me how I know this :D

Good morning Guardians

cigarrodog cigarrodog - Thanks so much Harvey, appreciate it my friend!

Jack Black Jack Black - Thanks again, Jack.;) Have a great weekend, pal!
I was able to get out in the yard yesterday and pick up this pile of sticks so the wife could rake up some wet leaves and bag them up. It sure was nice to be outside. Its supposed to rain today so hoping the grass will green up and the raspberry patch will come back to life soon. Also, transplanted some Blackberries from my wife's sisters place last fall, so hoping they made it through the winter too.

There's a Lambsfoot on the pile.:)

Yes, I've been working on what the Doctors and Dietitians call "My Swallow". We have a Vita Mix and Cindy has been whipping up some killer Smoothies that I manage to swallow quite well. I can also swallow most of my medicines but the bigger pills have to be crushed and sent down the feeding tube. It's a slow process but I'm coming along. I figure I'll be able to pull the feeding tube about the end of June.

Great to see how you're doing Ed :) You may not feel it mate, but I have to say, considering what you've been through, you look bloody fantastic! :) Nice to see you in your natural setting ;)

Glad you're keeping busy Jer, me too, my morning has flown, just sorting some stuff out, I'm worn out now! :D

+1

Isn't sourdough good for that Rachel? I mainly eat that anyway, and people keep mentioning it  Well done :) I kind of resenting going to the trouble of losing weight by cutting out the sacred beer and cake, since with my exercise somewhat curtailed, and having to eat whatever I find, I'm sure to put it on again o_O I used to make soda bread Rachel, it doesn't need yeast, is dead easy to make, and delicious. Unfortunately, I lost my recipe (I remember I used cream of tartare to replace the buttermilk, which was hard to get here at the time), and you can't see the wood for the online forest of them! You just use ordinary flour, but some folks like to use some wholemeal, while an Irish friend of mine mixes in chapati flour, and swears by it

That's a nice photo Rachel, your Big 'Un has really got some nice colour now

Beautiful knife and pic Jack  I like how the stag bark goes all the way to the bolster.

A good weekend to all!

Great to see you here Mark, I love the pics :) I dare say those blackberries will be OK, they are a tough plant. Mine have been cut down numerous times over the years, by various idiots, and thankfully, they've always survived :)

I'll do that Mark. We won't have to concern ourselves with "social distancing" as this is how the countryside is around our place.

Sorry to hear you're not on the up and up. I must have missed hearing/reading about it when I was in the hospital up in Portland, Or. Best to you and hope you're on the mend. I'm adding you to my prayer list for a quick, smooth, recovery
