Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Are my images not showing up?
Sometimes the hosting site has issues and they will show up again after they get them sorted.

Yours sometimes, mine sometimes, and several others too and then all of a sudden they show up. Any way it's annoying.

Great Photo Herder Sir, I love Dragon Flies! Also love that nice I*XL too my friend!

All I took to work today..................

This big old dragonfly was kind enough to sit still while I perched an old Wostenholm Lambfoot knife next to him for a picture.
I'll bet he admired that long thin blade. :)

Very cool pic my friend :)

Take care Duncan, nice to see one of the Snakewood Damascus models :)

It's Cinco de Mayo. I am sipping on some of my homemade margaritas and we are making Mexican Lasagna for dinner.

I hope you all are having a good evening.

That's one heck of a Margarita Dylan!  :D Hope you had a great evening :) I love the horn on that knife  :)

Morning Guardians, halfway through another week! Hope everyone is doing OK :) Stay safe out there

Thanks David, nice Forget-Me-Nots

After a sunny start here, it has developed into a rather cool overcast day. I went out for a traipse to the small local park, which was fairly quiet. Home for coffee and beans on toast ;)

Nice pictures Jack; maybe the cloud was keeping everyone indoors.

I live and learn. That's what it means over here, but I had the impression that over there they were manor houses or old houses or great houses. Not manor houses unless there was a manor, of course.
Maybe mansions are swanky houses in a city rather than a village?

Duh. I have dictionaries. I could look it up.

Our old family farm built in the 1620's was called Manor House Farm. I remember telling my history teacher once and he said that a house could only be called a 'Manor' if it had been a residence for a Lord or Lady, which our farm had been in the late 17th century. Whether that's actually true or not I don't know.

Storms rolled through last night producing a lighting display like I've not saw in a long time. :( More promised for today between 2PM and 7PM with strong wind and rain and possibly quarter sized hail. Hopefully they will be wrong with the forecast. I hope all you Guardians are safe and sound today. :)

Hope that weather isn't that bad Ron. Were forecast winter temps and possible snow this weekend.

Great shot of your lambsfoot with that nice looking flower. I'm no gardener but I don't think we have them over here.

It's a very old word Jer, I think it comes from the Latin word manere, to remain. Manse comes from the same root I think, and I just happen to have a photo of a Lambsfoot at Harewood Castle, which is actually a fortified manse ;) :D

The remains of Sheffield Manor House, where Mary Queen of Scots was held, still stand, but I had to filch a pic from the internet ;)

I was perusing my old Sheffield OS map last week and discovered all sorts of historic places around Sheffield that I've never seen, but I don't think that was on the list.
I hope you enjoyed the Americans.

Happy to hear that, Dennis. Great EDC image.

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you for the lovely tour, Jack.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

And a slightly clearer picture. The towers in the distance is the city of Manchester with the Pennine Hills i the far distance.

Beautiful Dan, what a lovely part of the world :) Your ebony Lambsfoot is looking good as ever my friend :)
Gracias Jack :)
They have kept the Summerstown forest trails open ( the ones we xc ski in winter ) and our daily afternoon walks is what's keeping us sane these days.
Incredible how technology has changed in our lifetimes.
It still amazes me that a pic I took in my walk with a small device I carry in my pocket can be instantly shared all over the world with a couple taps on a screen.

Nice bike
It took me second by I spotted your trusty Hartshead on your trusty steed :)

Good day Guardians, getting ready to start another sourdough "journey" today to bake sometime tomorrow.

Also, carrying my lambsfoot is teaching me all sort of things as I pay more attention when out on walks.
I did not know "Red Trilliums " existed . I found out that Red trillium flowers have no nectar but do have a rotting-flesh smell which attracts carrion flies. The flies in turn pollinate the flowers.

Thanks David, I think it was a factor, as it was quite cool. Much warmer and sunnier today, and consequently busier.

It sounds reasonable doesn't it? My first job was at the Sheffield Works Department depot on Manor Lane in Sheffield, opposite the abattoir, and adjacent to Sheffield's roughest council estate (housing project, also called The Manor

Just from the photos I found online, it looks like they might have latterly tarted it up a bit, but until recently it was just a pile of rubble, overgrown with weeds, in the middle of the afore-mentioned estate, and unknown to most Sheffielders. It seems it's now a visitor attraction, took a while, but I guess there were concerns for the safety of visitors. The local pub has so many ex-convicts among its clientele, they have a table-tennis table, so they can practice between stretches

That's an intelligent decision Dan. Here I went to the park again, and walked up the same hill several times to try and get some exercise! Very interesting my friend, and excellent photography, as always :) It amazes me that you can take such wonderful photos on a phone, let alone share them with us! :D

Jack, your photo skills are definitely on the upswing. Not that I'm any expert.:) Love the way the flowers bring out the peaches n' cream colors in the stag.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Trusty HHB is brightening my day today - another gloomy start; hope things improve outdoors.
