Good evening Guardians! This is one tired old man! We got a lot accomplished today, but it’s now time for the recliner and a nice Sambar Lambsfoot! :)

Thanks John :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks like it was a great day to be out walking.:thumbsup:

Very nice addition. :cool::thumbsup:

That bone. :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Les:thumbsup:

That is one sweet Lambfoot!

Thanks Ron!

That stag is beautiful.

I don't have the ability to walk away from a nice old Lambfoot with a relatively full blade and flush joint  very nice raised bed garden Les:thumbsup:

Thank you, Jack. Slowly, but surely, I’m getting the hang of it. Still much learning ahead, but that’s what keeps it fun. Just like lambsfoots! :)

Good examples of the Standard Ebony are so stunning, and you’ve got yourself a great one! Congrats, and good on ED for such a generous gift! Ya’ll make us Guardians proud.

And kimchi!

Yup. That’ll suffice.

(My entry for understatement of the year. :D)

Oh, wow! Love that bone and the blade stamp!

As much as I love my A. Wrights, I’m getting a thrill from the resurgence of vintage models surfacing lately! Such beauties!

I don’t think I have the patience to track one down for myself, but I am quite content to gander at all of y’all’s. Please keep ‘em coming, folks!

You’ve no doubt earned your spell in the easy chair, Ron. Enjoy it! Glad to see you’ve got good company while you put your feet up!

I hope my fellow Guardians have had a good day. Today was the first day that I’ve had in a while that felt truly rejuvenating. One of our favorite garden stores is open again, so we got there 10 minutes before opening and spent 30 minutes in line to pick up soil, compost, mulch, and a few plants to round out those that we’d already picked up at the farmers market and ordered online.

We put in most of our garden, including a dozen chili plants (2 each of 6 varieties) that I’m looking forward to enjoying come harvest and several other veggies. Here are nine of the chili plants with some green beans behind (and a lambsfoot if you look closely!):

Afterwards, having worked up an appetite, my lambsfoot and I made a snack to tide us over ‘til dinner:

I hope everyone else also finds some moments of satisfaction this weekend. Stay safe, Guardians!

Thank you Jack, Love that warm, sunny image of your Heartshead.

Thanks Harvey, that's a beautiful image, the cookie looks almost as good as your Brookes & Crookes ;) :D

Thanks Jack. I’m glad you got to take a good walk!

Thanks a lot Dave, it was an enjoyable day, I'll post some more pics shortly :)

Thanks for sharing about the incredible sacrifices of so many women during the wars.
It's good to pause, reflect and remember.

Before the outbreak started I went to the home of a WW2 vet to help him apply and process the paperwork to move into a nursing home. He is 95 yo. He showed me the telegram they had sent his mother when he got severely wounded, told me about his wounds, how they still affect him to this day. We talked for a couple hours. I felt so privileged to be able to shake his hand and thank him for his service.

...

Good day Guardians :)

Nice story Dan, thanks for helping out that old soldier :) That's another ace pic my friend :)

The mail finally arrived! Here are a few pictures of the new addition. The old stag handled Lambfoot finally has a mate. :)

Sounds like you've earned a rest Ron :) Nice to have a Lambsfoot to CF while you snooze ;)

Looks like it was a great day to be out walking.:thumbsup:

Thanks John, yes it was, I'm glad I took advantage of it, because the weather is more typical of what we generally expect here in May today

Thank you, Jack. Slowly, but surely, I’m getting the hang of it. Still much learning ahead, but that’s what keeps it fun. Just like lambsfoots! :)

Yes indeed my friend :) I also love seeing the vintage Lambs :) It sounds as if you had a great day Greg :)

I know the feeling, doesn't take much to make us seasoned gents want the recliner :D beautiful stag Ron:thumbsup:

I don't own a recliner, but worry that I'd always just fall asleep on one :D

Thank you Greg. Fine looking Victory Garden. My kind of snack, to boot.

You took the words right out of my mouth Harvey! :D :)

Morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing OK, and that you're enjoying a pleasant weekend. I was pretty beat last night after my walk, found a few hills to walk up! :D The weather is dull and overcast here right now, so I'll probably just find a few jobs to do in the house, listen to the radio, and hang out here awhile :) Enjoy your Sunday Guardians

Here's some photos from my walk yesterday, the first ones are from an area called Sugarwell Hill, which is only about a mile from Leeds city centre, but where you sometimes see deer. Gypsy horses also used to be left here to graze until a couple of years back. There doesn't seem to be much documented history of the area, but old overgrown cobbled lanes, stone walls, and long-ruined buildings shows that a community once lived here, and there's plenty of evidence of early industry, including the ruins of a windmill.

Along Meanwood Beck, I came across some of the youngsters from my street raking hay. Despite its diminutive size, there was quite a bit of industry along the beck, with several old mills, and later factories. There's a major road just on the other side of the buildings on the other side of the beck.

The last time I walked this way, there was just a simple path, but there's now a tarmacked cycle path, which increases traffic. Heading away though, I found some wonderful green lanes and meadows, which were absolutely deserted, and climbing the hill into the woods, there were numerous paths to explore.

Emerging from the woods at the top of the hill, I found myself next to urban sports fields and the edge of a housing estate, built around an 18th century roundhouse. I was still only about 2 miles from Leeds city centre, and less than a mile from my home. In the middle of the normally very busy road, I was amazed to find an Ordnance Survey Triangulation Pillar, which is something I'm more used to seeing on the hills and mountains.

This bowl almost became a "sour-bowl" lol
I got a nasty catch that send it flying off the lathe and broke the tenon used to hold it.
I am happy I was able to remount it and finish it.
( wait .... sour dough is a very good thing actually ... OK, forget about the sour-bowl metaphor :D )

That’s a beautiful bowl Dan! I’m glad you were able to recover after the mishap. The Ebony Lambsfoot looks right at home. :)

I try to make do with what I have... :) :D

Thanks Jack! You too! I’ve just got a few aching muscles. It probably means they need to be used more! ;) :D

Good morning Guardians! I’m planning on a day spent relaxing with my lovely wife! I thought something special was called for, so this Waynorth was my choice! ;) I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday! :)

Thanks Jack! When you come late to the SFO party you have to do the best you can. :p Your picture looks like this one for sure. Someone out in Oklahoma had it. You really have some nice areas to hike around in. Great pictures of the countryside around Leeds

Ron, those handles on the Waynorth are scrumptious.

Good Morning Guardians
Going with my Fancy Sunday Charlie Lamb today...

Definitely fancy!

It's definitely a nice one Les :) Thank you, that's just inner city Leeds, but it gets nicer as you head further out. Sheffield, where I was born, has often been described as a dirty city surrounded by a golden frame! :D

Thanks Jack  Encore performance coming up :D Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday
Jack you have made it this far without a recliner, no need in taking a chance now;)

Good advice Rob! :D Thanks for the encore performance my friend :)
