Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

When I took that photo I was thinking about both you and Pàdruig Pàdruig and what a delight it was when the first Guardian's Edition and matching slip arrived. I don't usually carry my knives in a slip, but I've been using this one a bit lately when I carry that knife. I figure, like the knife, it was made to be used, so what better way to honor its maker.

I'm glad to hear that you are still getting some use and enjoyment out of that slip, Greg. My leatherwork has certainly improved since that run - amazing what a bit more knowledge, trial & error, and more tools will will do for you.

Modoc ED Modoc ED , glad to read that you are on the mend - I can only imagine the relief at having that tube be gone.

Low light shot, just getting my evening started. I hope everyone has an excellent evening and an even better weekend!

'Put you off' asparagus? o_O These alien tentacled monsters make me crave it. I do wish they were edible; imagine slow roasted giant asparagus steaks!

I do hope you feel better soon, Jack.

Thanks Rachel, I think my days of sitting out in the cold at midnight need to come to an end  I didn't have asparagus as a kid, as it was only for rich folks when I was a kid, and we only had a handful of vegetables here ;) I remember my parents going out for an anniversary meal, and telling me they had 'asparagus tips' like they were talking about caviar :D By coincidence, the restaurant they went to was actually in the old home of George Wostenholm at Kenwood Hall in Sheffield

Thank you kindly, Ron!

That's nice Greg, thank you :) I really enjoy using the slips, Pàdruig Pàdruig did a great job of them :)

I hope you are feeling better Jack !

Yesterday we were finally able to go say hi to our chickadee friends.
They were not as friendly ( or hungry rather as they were in winter :) )

Finally a couple of them decided to be good sports and pose for a pic :)
( I heard one of them say to the other " hey look, that odd dude with the knives and seeds is back ... what do you say , ... should be fly down for a pic ? ) :D

Thank you very much Dan :) Those are wonderful photos my friend :) I have noticed that the wildlife here seems to be getting bolder since the lock-down, but currently I mainly have magpies and crows in my garden, and squirrels, and I would not trust them to leave my Lambsfoot in one piece, and not either carry it off to their nests or gnaw the heck out of it! :D

I'm back from the look-see by one of my Doctors and he said every thing looks good. But LOOK - No Feeding Tube !!!! It's eat on my own or starve from now on. Fat chance of that happening. And Yes, I have pants on.:) This post meets all Lambfoot requirements. I'm holding one, Charlie's @waynorth WCLF is perched on the white coffee cup and a picture of my last evening's post is on my monitor.:D The left side of my jaw and face are a bit lopsided but what the heck - They cut the original jaw out and put in another one with a bone from my leg. Ain't life grand!!:)

lCuV4Fr.jpg

Fantastic news Ed!! :) Congratulations, and well done to you and Cindy, and to all the doctors and medical professionals who've brought you back to us, tube-free! You are certainly a fighter my friend, and have put up with your situation with great stoicism and courage. Wishing you happy and healthy days ahead Ed, let the feasting begin!! :) :)

Thanks Gary @Peregrin but it'll mostly have to be soft/softish foods for awhile because they took my bottom teeth but I manage fish, ravioli, hamburger and other things pretty good. It' just a relief to have that tube out of my nose after 90 plus days. I'll be getting some screw-in teeth mid summer I think.

Hopefully plenty of tasty options Ed, and hopefully you'll be chomping away again soon :) You sure must be glad to get rid of that tube!

Great shot pal, hope you have a great weekend too :) Certainly nothing shabby about those slips Dylan, I treasure mine :)

Morning Guardians, thanks for all the well-wishes yesterday, I think I just got too cold, and breathed in too much bad smoke  Great news about Modoc ED Modoc ED eh? I know a few of our other Guardians have health problems, and I hope they are doing OK, and will soon be in better health :) It hardly seems like the weekend for me at the moment, but I'm sure it still means a lot to those of you who have to leave the house everyday to go out to work, and to those of you still 9-5ing it at home, so I hope you get to put your feet up, and do something enjoyable. Here, the sun seems to be out, and I'm about to go and make coffee. I have a bit of work to do, and some chores in the house to do too, but maybe I'll get out for a bit later, stop my legs seizing up completely  Have a good weekend Guardians, I'm going with stag today ;)

Great photo as always, Harvey.
Very nice looking Lamb, the secondary blade appears to be of good size.

Excellent picture, Dylan. :cool::thumbsup:
I can imagine the sound of the creek and the smell of the cigar.:thumbsup:

Nice little "Fixer Upper"... I'd live there. :D:thumbsup:

I have noticed that the wildlife here seems to be getting bolder since the lock-down
I've noticed the same thing around here, mostly in the birds.
For a while it was like an Alfred Hitchcock film. The birds would fly right into my shop and hop around very near to me. I thought maybe they were mistaking me for Dan. :D A humming bird flew right next to my head and hovered there like I was a tasty flower... when I turned around to see what the humming noise was it scared the crap out of me. Now that the lock down has loosened up they have went back to being more shy.

Glad you're feeling better, Jack. :)
Hope you're able to get out for a bit and stretch your legs.
My boys went out to the quarry for a hike yesterday. I was too busy to go with them but they brought lunch back to me. Good boys!

Not a bad pile eh? He built the mansion, and a whole estate of swanky streets around it  Yes, the birds have been going a little crazy here too, I imagine that was quite a shock John! Thank you my friend, I went out earlier, but then got engaged in conversation with one neighbour, then the other, and didn't get any further than the end of my garden! I should go out again soon, and try and make it round the block at least! That's nice to hear, hope you're able to go out with them next time :)

Good Morning Guardians
I let Skoll out for a bit to chase some sun...

It's always great to see Skoll

I have a neighbour, who had so much vintage vinyl that the floor collapsed!

A bit like the floor underneath your kitchen table then? :D

Yes, I would think the Maltings would survive :) Hopefully most of the York pubs too  Thanks pal, the knife was a kind gift from JohnDF JohnDF , a very special Lambsfoot I really treasure :) Great pic of your Oxhorn

Thanks Jack. It is though bad news on the York pub front, as most of them are owned by the pubco's who have (at least up until a couple of days ago) refused to stop charging commercial rent on the closed pubs, which means many of York's finest and most famous pubs may genuinely go under.

Nice photo David! :)

Good morning Guardians! I hope y’all are all safe and well! :) I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve got some knives that I call “Feel Good Knives”. When I pick them up they just bring a smile to my face. This SFO Damascus with Ironwood is most certainly a “Feel Good Knife”! ;) Thanks for that Jack! :D

Thanks Ron. Great combination there of the damascus and the filework.

Glad you weren’t hurt badly in the explosion.

This German beer stein was given to me by my son. He was stationed in Naples, Italy for a while when he was in the Navy and he and his wife traveled around to as many countries as they could while he was over there.

Thanks me to. :D That's a great pic; our Teutonic cousins certainly know how to imbibe their ale in style.

Hi Dennis.:) Thank you for the nice words also thank you for the peak at part of your spread. Really fine images. Be safe, my friend.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

That's the most important thing Ed. :D Good to see your doing well.

Well folks I eventually got round to making a homemade pork pie. :) Not perfect by any means (not enough seasoning and the gelatin didn't set enough) but overall I'm happy with my first attempt.

By the way, the swayback was actually just a bystander. It was my Mora Classic #1 that saw all the action.

Thanks Jack Jack Black Jack Black . It's been a struggle but what the heck. Ya gotta make the best out of any thing that should happen along the way. I'll be fine.

Speaking of fine - how about you. Are you all warmed up and ready to go again? You know the old saying - "Cover your arse" - that even goes for lawn chairs.:eek:

Sadly the case my friend, I'm sure it has most certainly been a struggle. I really hope the worst of it is way behind you now, and that it's plain sailing, with friendly winds, and clear skies for the rest of your voyage Ed  Yes, I have nobody to blame, but myself, for my latest health hiccup! I could do with getting into the docs for a few things, but I'm going to leave it for as long as I can (there probably isn't a choice in any case). I don't know what you have planned for dinner, but I hope you enjoy every well-deserved mouthful :)

Good afternoon Guardians! The midday sun is a little too hot for this old man. We’ve decided to take a break for a couple of hours so the sun doesn’t shine directly on our deck area. I’ve only got one knife today and it’s one of my favorites. Y’all stay safe out there! :)

The first attempt never goes as planned. Still looks good.:thumbsup:

Thanks John. I was inspired by everyone's sourdough bread efforts. :D

I didn't realise that David, what utter scumbags! :(

If you go on the British Pub Confederation Twitter page you can read all about those going on's.:rolleyes:

Well done David  Did you blind-bake the pastry first? Don't think we need to hear about that other knife do we?

Oh I don't think so though I don't know what blind-baking is. The whole pie was cooked together, though I made the pastry first and let it rest overnight.

Very nice looking Lamb, the secondary blade appears to be of good size.
Thank you John. Both very useful blades. Your Ironwood was and is one of the picks of the litter.

Fantastic stag.
Thank you David. Sorry to here of the Pub woes. The owners who don’t accommodate the tenants under these circumstance, are shortsighted and ignorant. The economic calamity that is likely to follow, will eventually pay them a karmic visit.

On the other hand, that is one good looking homemade pork pie.

Jack Black Jack Black - Hope you are feeling better. Take care. Wow! Nice looking estate.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

Hey Ron!!!! You know we're going to need to see pictures of your deck project don't you!!!??? Like your knife.

I once had a courier hand me a card saying I wasn't in! He hadn't wanted to carry the package to my door!

That reminds me of this scene from Ricky Gervais’ most recent series, After Life. (Surprisingly, this clip is Porch-friendly; probably the only minute of that show that is.) :D
