Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I'm back from the look-see by one of my Doctors and he said every thing looks good. But LOOK - No Feeding Tube !!!! It's eat on my own or starve from now on. Fat chance of that happening. And Yes, I have pants on.:) This post meets all Lambfoot requirements. I'm holding one, Charlie's waynorth waynorth WCLF is perched on the white coffee cup and a picture of my last evening's post is on my monitor.:D The left side of my jaw and face are a bit lopsided but what the heck - They cut the original jaw out and put in another one with a bone from my leg. Ain't life grand!!:)

Eat hearty, Ed:D!! Nice to hear you are mending well!!

I hope you are feeling better Jack !

Yesterday we were finally able to go say hi to our chickadee friends.
They were not as friendly ( or hungry rather as they were in winter :) )

Finally a couple of them decided to be good sports and pose for a pic :)
( I heard one of them say to the other " hey look, that odd dude with the knives and seeds is back ... what do you say , ... should be fly down for a pic ? ) :D

Cool pictures, Dan!
My wife finally made it back home after being out of state babysitting one of the grand kids for 2 weeks. Solitary confinement was getting a little old but at least she left me with lots of food already cooked up. :D Having a little afternoon decaf now.

Good afternoon Guardians! The midday sun is a little too hot for this old man. We’ve decided to take a break for a couple of hours so the sun doesn’t shine directly on our deck area. I’ve only got one knife today and it’s one of my favorites. Y’all stay safe out there! :)

Grafting away again Ron?! I hope you're going to enjoy your new deck my friend, great to see the colourful patina on your Pere David Big 'Un again

Oh I don't think so though I don't know what blind-baking is. The whole pie was cooked together, though I made the pastry first and let it rest overnight.

Blind-baking is when you bake the pie-crust a bit first, prior to adding overly moist ingredients. It helps to stop the inner of the pie becoming soggy before it can bake. Of course that might not be what you want

Jack Black Jack Black - Hope you are feeling better. Take care. Wow! Nice looking estate.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

Venture/H.M. Slater and a “Hipster” patch.

Thanks Harvey, me and my friends used to sometimes climb over the wall as kids, looking to find frogs in George's pond ;) Nice patch! :D Your Slater is looking good :)

That reminds me of this scene from Ricky Gervais’ most recent series, After Life. (Surprisingly, this clip is Porch-friendly; probably the only minute of that show that is.) :D

I've not seen it yet Barrett, thanks for the clip  I'd like to see Real Life, where the Ricky Gervais character gets the living snot beaten out of him! :D

Glad to read that Jack is feeling better and what great news from ED!

Decided to have an interpretation of a sausage sandwich to celebrate with y'all.

Hot dogs, melted cheddar cheese, and BBQ sauce on toasted sourdough. Not half bad, if I do say so myself. :)

Thanks Greg, that sandwich looks great my friend, I hope you enjoyed it :)

Hope you are all warmed up and enjoying your "walk around the block", Jack!
Raining today! Oh well, let's see what I can scan and post!!

Thank you Charlie, it's getting to the point where I think I could walk round the block blindfold, and not so much as trip up  But with my luck, I'm not going to try that! :D Hope you get some better weather today pal :)

Glad to hear the missus is back Les :) I've been in solitary myself since the start :(

Fine photo Dan :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a good weekend :) Kinda dull and a little cold here at the moment. I'm hoping it doesn't rain, as my mate is popping round with his eldest boy later, so I can give him his birthday present. If it's raining, it'll be a brief visit! Enjoy your Sunday Guardians :) I'm carrying something a bit special today, on its maiden voyage in my pocket

Amazing photos Dan. Reminds me to fill our feeder up again.

Ed, my best wishes for your speedy recovery. Sounds like you have a good attitude and that's the most important thing.:) One thing is for sure, gettin' old aint for cowards.

The BF Search function indicates that I haven't posted in the Guardians thread for 3 weeks!:(
There have been times in the past when circumstances kept me from posting for several days, but I'm typically very good about at least keeping up with the thread by faithfully reading all the posts even when I'm not posting myself. But this time, even my reading of the thread has been fitful, faithless, and feckless! (I did notice that Modoc ED Modoc ED is now tubeless, so I rejoice with him at that development!:cool::thumbsup:)

The reason for my absence has been the unexpected amount of time I've spent on the one course I'm teaching this semester. The move to online teaching has been a "new trick" that this "old dog" has struggled to learn! Instead of spending less than an hour each day prepping for a single 50-minute class I've taught dozens of times in the past, I'm now typically spending 4+ hours per day on prep (and another hour for the class meeting itself). I also spend a couple of hours per day walking to relieve stress. So I seem to have much less discretionary time available for BF now than I did when I was working full-time! But my last class of the semester was Thursday, final exam is tomorrow, and I hope to finish the grading before the end of the day on Wednesday.

Anyway, my only attempt at "catching up" will be to post the lambsfoot knives I've carried the past 3 weeks.
Since last Monday, I've been carrying Cracker Jack, my Ashley's Choice lambsfoot:

The week prior to that, Black Jack, my 2018 ebony Guardians lambsfoot, was in my pocket:

And the last week of April I carried Valley Jack, my 2019 desert ironwood Guardians lambsfoot:

It's been a tough transition for both teachers and students.
There's light at the end of the tunnel with the school year coming to an end.
Too bad there's so much talk of starting next year the same way with on-line instruction again.

I'll probably spend some time most days this summer trying to adapt the first half of the course I just taught, and am scheduled to teach again in the fall, to an on-line approach. That will be much less stressful for me than trying to make my changes on a day-to-day basis as I've been doing the past 2 months.

When I step out my back door as the sun rises, if I look slightly to my left over the row of houses behind us, I see this church just across the street (about 100 paces from my back door):

Right in front of the church is this little "library":
1.libfront.jpg
It's not one of the official "chartered" Little Free Libraries so commonly seen; instead, it has a plaque attached that states that the "book box" is a memorial to a deceased former pastor of the church. Here's my Valley Jack on the steps of the "church", followed by a close-up (I like the stained glass):

1.zoom.VJ.onlib.jpg

I've located a couple dozen of these types of libraries in my daily walks around the "expanded neighborhood", and hope to continue posting a series of lambsfoot pics taken at these little libraries. This one is the closest to me; I think the farthest one on my list is almost 3 miles from where I live.

That’s Jack! It’s taking a lot longer to demo and rebuild than it took me the first time I built it in July 1978! That’s a beautiful ironwood and Damascus my friend! :)
