Wow!

Happy Thursday, folks! It's been a busy week for me, but I did find some time yesterday evening and early this morning to make my first batch of sourdough in about two weeks.

The JB SFO rosewood pictured there has been in my pocket every day since it took up residence there over the weekend. It's a hard one to kick out. ;)

Thanks Rob, you'd have to teach me how. :D:thumbsup: But I don't think I'll be going anywhere soon. :(
Happy stroppin'

Interesting book, such a long history of pubs! A great Lambsfoot David! Hope you have a good day! :)

donn donn - I’ll wager the York Pub book is a great read, David.

Thanks chaps. Yeah the English pub as an institution dates back to at least the 8th century (probably earlier). lt has survived famines, invasions, dozens of plagues, more civil wars than you can shake a stick at, just as many economic collapses, tyrannical government, religious extremism, social unrest and two world wars.
Then along came modern western politics.....

Most of the stories I heard from her were about being forced to eat food she didn't like, which was then visited upon me in turn o_O

You and me both then. :D

That looks very interesting David

Aye it is. I could lend it to you to scan but not until the postal service gets it act together.

Hope everyone is staying safe from the stupid Coronavirus today. We ran over to a farmer’s market and grabbed some more peaches and a cantaloupe.

Trying Les ;) Good haul

Much thanks, Jack.

“To market, to market” Have fun, Jack. Your Hartshead on the ads is swell.

LOL! :D Thanks buddy :) Clever pic, and a nice choice for the day :)

Thank you Jack, in one day that loaf is gone.
I baked 3 loaves so I've got a bit of time to prepare for the next bake :) ( hungry teenagers are refusing to eat store bought bread ... but in fairness my wife and I are hooked on it too :) )

Good day Guardians :)

Ever ready! :cool

Made me smile on an otherwise gloomy day. That lambfoot knife is wonderful.

Sorry to hear about your gloomy day Bill, hope it's just been the weather

Too hot to cook, so I made myself a sandwich, took some beers out of the fridge, and went and sat in the garden for a few hours :)

Hi everyone, first post! I really enjoy seeing these beautiful knives, but I enjoy seeing their different backdrops just as much :) I don't own a lambsfoot myself, and am on the hunt for my first one. All of the Jack Black SFOs have me drooling, and I know they don't pop up on the secondary market often, but I'm up for the challenge of finding one! Does anyone have a picture/pictures of the comprehensive group of SFOs? I'd like to be equipped with what to look for.

The post is a conundrum at the moment everywhere. I took what i thought was a big risk and bought a book i was after from America, fully knowing that all postal services are under pressure at the moment. I have had parcels from America arrive with in 7 days in the past, the estimated arrival time for my current order is 4-7 weeks at best, i have been waiting for 5 weeks now, and i'm getting nervous. If it does go missing, i'm up the proverbial creek without a paddle. But i can only blame myself if it goes pear shaped, i knew the risk. I bought something online from a suburb 5 minutes away recently, after 2 weeks it is not looking good, the post cannot seem to find it, but the supplier has been fantastic, they are looking into it, and will replace the items if the post has lost them, do not have that luxury from America. To all guardians have a good weekend.

Thanks Jack I can't remember where that one came from. Oh well I guess it's that old age thing creeping in. :D:D

I can't remember where 90% of my collection came from Randy! :D

Hey prairie.dog prairie.dog , that's quite a challenge there! :D Can anyone remember seeing such a pic?

Maybe, this is something worth documenting, but I think I'll need some help! I think the very first SFOs I had made up were a small number (5,6, 10?) of Lambsfoot knives with ebony covers, a polished blade, and the 'Real Lamb Foot' etch? I don't have one of these myself, but maybe you do? I think I gave them away, the last of them being in my Bad Back Giveaway

After that, I had some Lambsfoot knives made up with some rather special Buffalo Horn covers. Again. I think these were just gifted, and I don't think there were more than half a dozen of them. Dennis posted a pic of one of them the other day, featured in Knife Magazine :)
