Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks a lot buddy :) As luck would have it, the weather is pretty rotten here today, but I think I'm going to head out anyway :thumbsup:

Me too! :D He likes his beer doesn't he?! :D :thumbsup:

Looking forward to seeing that one Rob :cool: Another vintage beauty there :) :thumbsup:

Good for you Joshua :) I didn't realise there were all those varieties of blueberries, very interesting. The ones we get in the supermarkets here are pretty bland I'm afraid. When I was a kid, bakers still sold bilberry pies, they were delicious, but I always wondered how they got enough berries to make them! :D :thumbsup:

Thank you for all the kind words Dennis, striking patina on that blade :cool: :thumbsup:

Good Morning Guardians, rushing a bit this morning. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. I'm heading out for my hike, so I'm hoping I don't return looking like a drowned rat! :eek: :D Got my Hartshead Barlow and my Charlie Lamb :thumbsup:

Hope you have a wonderful hike today Jack. I might also say that your lambfoot knives make great companions.

Jose, that polished rams horn is just radiant.

Good morning everyone.
Are there changes afoot on the forums? I clicked onto the next page and the whole format of the page changed. Everyone's avatars were located above their posts and not to the left of them and the reply box was completely different. Looked quite good actually.

LOL! Me, beer, water and not a clue what I'm doing. What could possibly go wrong? :D

How was that Jack?

Oi! Do you mind. :D:D

The place were I've come across the most bilberries anywhere on any moors, is above the 'Kilburn White Horse' on Sutton Bank above Kilburn in North Yorkshire. The place was literally teeming with them. :thumbsup:

I seem to have lost some quotes but thanks to everyone for posting the information of the SFO's. I only acquired two of them (the ironwood and the HHB) so it's been informative to see a timeline of all the examples. I'll have to bookmark those pages for future reference. :thumbsup:

I've doing absolutely nothing at the moment so my small swayback has sufficed for the past few days.

Hope you all have a decent planned. :thumbsup:

David, a really nice photo of your lamb foot's pile side.

Good morning Guardians. I'm starting my yard work off early this morning (at least it's early for me:D) We've had a lot of rain and things have really been growing. Including the fungus. So I'm applying some medicine to spots in the yard but it smells awful:eek::eek::eek:. Also, I have my trusty HHB to help prune the suckers off of some of my trees and shrubs.

Nice!! And a great backdrop for your photo!:thumbsup: Family should be happy, especially with some blueberry pancakes!!:D

Thanks! And yes, blueberry pancakes are a favorite in our household, so I'm sure we'll have a stack or two (or more!) of those.

The supermarket blueberries here aren't as good as the local fresh ones either. I did a bit more digging and found this article with some brief descriptions of the different kinds of blueberries. I also learned that there is a difference between a variety and a cultivar. Apparently variety is something that happens naturally, but cultivar is something produced by human cultivation. So there are only a few varieties of blueberry, but many cultivars.

Haha, thanks Rachel:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you. That stag on your lambsfoot is just radiant! :D:thumbsup:

Yes Glenn is the man:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Rob. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Glenn is a master! :) :thumbsup:

Thanks Dennis:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Great knife, great photo Rob!:):thumbsup:

Beauties in the make!:cool::thumbsup:

You really have a nice hurd going, Rachel!:cool::thumbsup:

It is a handsome example, Vince!;):thumbsup:

Looks handy, Ed! Because of nerve damage, I got where I hate having things in my pockets, enjoying the belt sheaths. :thumbsup:

Looks great, but I'm going to need a pepcid just looking at the photo!:D:thumbsup: Senator is looking good!

Nice!! And a great backdrop for your photo!:thumbsup: Family should be happy, especially with some blueberry pancakes!!:D

Beautiful, Dan!!:):thumbsup:

Nice! Cheers, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:

Have a great weekend, Guardians!

Math....that's what that is!
Lol... You sound like my students.
Mr. D., when did you start putting the alphabet in math?

Perfect! Just need a sausage biscuit!:cool::thumbsup:
That does sound perfect! ;):thumbsup:

Have a great weekend, Dennis. :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Rain or shine, I'm sure it will be great to go on a hike. Hope it's enjoyable. :cool::thumbsup:

The forum goes through "upgrades" during the night, so it's always messed up for an hour or two.
It's actually a public service as it allows us to spend time with our real families. :D:thumbsup:

You have many nice shrubberies. :D:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes! Another rescue pup!
:D:thumbsup:
You really have a nice hurd going, Rachel!:cool:
Thanks! I can't buy them all, so I have to be somewhat selective!

Sounds like mobile-view vs desktop-view. :confused:
Have a great weekend, Guardians!

Pardon the mediocre photo of three pretty darn nice knives ...

Thrilling threesome! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

that's a very nice black and white photo
Thanks, Rob. :)

Great to see Black Jack GT :) :thumbsup:
Thanks for the comment on Black Jack, Jack Black. ;)

Very nice still life pic of your AC, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Beautiful pose of your Black Jack.;):thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you, José. :) Great shot of your ebony Guardians knife! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Haha GT no not quite. Captain Webb was the first person to swim the English Channel...
Captain Webb became a genuine celebrity and his name was associated with all sorts of goods; what we would call nowadays celebrity endorsement.
...
Thanks for the info and links about Captain Webb and his endorsements, David! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

...
LOL! I hadn't noticed before Gary! :D I knew a feller, back in the 80's, with the same surname. He was notoriously cantankerous, so we dubbed him 'Lambo'! :D :thumbsup:

It's very unusual :D :thumbsup:

Thanks buddy, great pic of Black Jack :) :thumbsup:
Thanks for the interesting replies, Jack. :)

Black Jack is looking good my friend! :) :thumbsup:
Thanks, Ron. :)

...
WCLF showing a bit of use. Charlie @waynorth really hit it out of the park with this one.

pjV3hhp.jpg
Stunning knife pattern, Ron & ED; Charlie's jigged bone WCLF may be the best-looking open knife I've ever seen! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Always a treat to see a baseball appear in a knife photo, Chuck! :cool::thumbsup::cool: I'm surprised by how many I've actually seen over the years.

Here's a few pictures from our trip up to Hollister Mo.

Cool photos of your trip, Rob. :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Do you know the reason why Hollister has an English theme with all the Tudor architecture?

Good morning Guardians :)

Phenomenal photo of your ebony lambsfoot on the tracks, Dan! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

They remain unimpressed with my knives.;)

Of course I did. :):thumbsup:
Didn't get as much scanned as I'd hoped though.
Inlaws can be a tough audience. :rolleyes:
Congrats on the to-do list success! :thumbsup::) I tend to make mine unrealistically long, I guess. :(

Hi Guardians!

Looks like I'm an official member now.
Thank you, Jack!
I received my Real Lamb Foot in the mail yesterday. It's a beauty. It looks brand new! I am carrying it today after giving it a sharpening last night. I think I'm gonna like it :thumbsup::thumbsup::)

Congrats and welcome, @Pinemoon, on becoming another "victim" of Jack's legendary generosity! :thumbsup::):thumbsup:

Good Morning Guardians and anyone else looking in.

All lined up in a row.

Dazzling display of that lambsfoot quartet, ED! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Still can't take pictures so I'm posting old ones and I may get some I've recently posted.

Great shot of your AC, Randy! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Black Jack is looking great, GT.
A real handsome Black Jack, Gary! It deserves the "pedestal "!:D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Such beautiful ebony, my favorite material! Ace's with that one, GT!:eek::thumbsup:
Thanks, Harvey & Dennis.:)
I ought to seek out more ebony-hafted knives. I really like the distinguished look of ebony, but have very few knives with ebony covers.

Good Morning Guardians
Suffering a long stretch of 100+ degree temperatures.
But it sure is nice to wake up early to enjoy the cool breeze. :cool::thumbsup:
That lambsfoot is a cool breeze for sure, John! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

And my Lambfoot content from my morning coffee and taking the dogs out to do their thing.

I'll applaud and yell, "Encore!" every time you post that stunner, Rob! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Jack, there is a very strong connection between my deceased dad and England. ...
Thanks for sharing that moving story, Bill. :):cool::thumbsup:

Many thanks Ron, you have been here from the beginning :) It's been quite a journey hasn't it :) :thumbsup:
Thanks Jack! I have been here from the beginning and I’ve definitely enjoyed the journey my friend! :D I truly hope it’s got a lot more to come yet! ;) :thumbsup:

Thanks, Ron! They're tasty too!
:) :thumbsup:

Indeed, Ron!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good morning Guardians! We went for our bike ride around the island this morning. I took my Stag big’un for the ride. The weather is great but the haze from the Sahara Dust storm is bad! :( I hope y’all are having a great weekend! :) :thumbsup:

Thank you kindly, Dennis. That’s cool image of your Lamb Foot. Love the swirls.

Got my Hartshead Barlow and my Charlie Lamb :thumbsup:
You can’t go wrong with that pair. Hope you were able to hike, despite the weather.:thumbsup:

I've doing absolutely nothing at the moment so my small swayback has sufficed for the past few days.
A love, quiet image of your Lamb Foot, David.
A nice set of images of your bicycle journey.

One of the hundreds of Live Oaks that adorn the Island and the paved bike path that circles the island!
Especially the “Live Oaks.”

Figured today would be a good day for the Li'l Lambsfoot
Always a pleasure, Mike, when you check in. Nice LAMB Foot image.

Good Afternoon Guardians.
