Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Wonderful photos and narrative of a great walk Jack
Thanks for sharing !

Good morning Guardians.
This morning I am just trying to get my sore muscles going and get into the routine at work, next weekend will be going again .... from now till next weekend it seems forever lol

Thank you Dan, hope you loosen up, and that next weekend comes quickly for you :) Thanks for sharing all your great pics with us :)

Thank you, Jack. :)
I really enjoyed all the great pictures from your hike yesterday.:thumbsup:

Good Morning Guardians

Thanks John, hope you're enjoying your coffee :) Cute pup :)

Good evening Guardians, I hope everyone has had a great weekend :) I had a good 10 mile hike today in glorious weather, with some slingshot practice thrown in, and a pint and a pub meal at the end of it. It's getting on for 9.30pm here, and I'm still editing my pics. Looks like I've got a lot to catch up with here too. I'm not going to get finished tonight I'm afraid, but I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow, and post some pics from my hike

Jack, I’m glad the weather was nice for your hike! I’m sure it was a pleasant change and a must needed day afield for y’all! :)

In the meantime, here is more proof that coons can not resist the allure of a lambsfoot :D

My Hartshead wanted to meet Mr. Racoon as well :D

Fabulous photos Dan! :D

That's very interesting Ron  It could have been done on the same sort of etching machine as they have at Wright's, there would have been hundreds in Sheffield at one time, if not more, but if that were the case, I think you'd still see the tell-tale micro-dots. That's a good idea about the comparison pics

Lucy say thank you Ron ;)

I know the feeling Ron, I wasted half an hour trying to find my specs this morning! Nice pic of your AC buddy :)
Thanks Jack! That’s a great photo showing the etching machine in action! The AC’s are a treasure Jack! :)

Looks great Ed :) I only have one Lambsfoot in Snakewood, and it is a second - cheap, but the cracks in the wood rather spoil the point of having premium wood covers

Hope you had a great day Ron, that is a beautiful shot, you've really captured the Damascus well :) After all my hiking and catapultin', I could do with an easy day myself today! :D
Nice Lambsfoot Jack! To bad it’s a second. I’ve become extremely fond of my PD Stag big’un even though it’s a second. I just look at that as added character! ;) I had a restful day but I got a bit of nausea late in the evening and I’m afraid it carried over to this morning! :( That photo actually was taken inside and it did highlight the Damascus very well! :)

Nice to see that. I often kick myself for missing out on that one.
Thanks David! The Ashley’s Choice is one of Jacks classics! :)

Thank you for all the kind words Ron :) I don't think I paid a great deal for the Snakewood Candle-end, but then I've only carried it 2 or 3 times, so I'm not sure if it was a bargain or not :D With the Snakewood covers, it's very slim in the hand, compared to stag on the same frame. I'm sorry to hear about the nausea buddy, and hope that it passes quickly

Good morning! :) I’m resting in the cool this morning and I’ve got my Midnight Special close at hand. Y’all stay safe out there! :)

Thank you for the trip report Jack! Great pictures. I had just read about the success of the Red Kite reintroduction in the Guardian this morning!

Thanks Dave, fascinating coincidence :) Thank you for the link, it really has been very exciting to see the successful regrowth of the Red Kite population. When I first moved to this area 18 years ago, I went for a walk in the same area I was in yesterday. At a viewing platform, the Yorkshire Red Kite Society had some very popular monoculars set up, and asked if we would like to have a look at the Kites. I had never seen them before, and I remember being told we were very lucky as the chap from the society said he had never seen so many in the air at once before. There were 4 or 5 I think, but I saw more than twice that while drinking my pint yesterday :) The viewing platform is still there, but I guess most passers-by fail to notice it, or don't realise its purpose. I took a couple of photos from it yesterday, including this one of my Hartshead Barlow

I share a bit of your feelings about this particular raccoon Jer LOL , he was a bit mischievous , I almost called you two night ago to take care of it :D

It was about 5:30 in the morning when we heard noises outside our tent, sounded like someone trampling through the bush.

My wife got a bit apprehensive thinking someone was outside. I told her it sound like a deer walking through the bush behind us.

We went outside and did not see anything. Our puppy needed to go out too so I just stayed up after and started making tea etc.

A couple of hours later this fella comes down from a tall tree behind us. I am like " picture time" :D .
Later that day as we are packing up to come home we find this ragged hole on the side of the tent we use to keep our food in .... darn little devil

So those pics came at a price

Good story Dan, you are incredibly dedicated :) But, turns out he WAS a bandit! My parents went camping in Devon as part of their honeymoon, and came back from a walk to find a large sow had got into their tent, and had eaten all their food, making its self ill in the process! I don't know if my mother's cooking was involved

Thanks Dave, very interesting :) I went to a Steam Fair at Harewood a couple of years ago, and there were some HUGE eagles there, the kites were keeping well out of the way! :D This one is a sea eagle

Good Morning Guardians and anyone else looking in.

What with it's recent recover in Snakewood by an American cutler Signalprick Signalprick , This United Kingdom manufactured Standard Lambfoot has become a United States Citizen. Hence, a British Crown with an American Silver Dollar.

The best part of the manufacture was definitely in the US Ed :D :)
