Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hey Jer ! After my surgery, I've only got 8-teeth left - all uppers. I told my Dentist that I expected a substantial discount for teeth cleaning as it only takes about 10-minutes to do the job.:)
My dad had just four teeth left to anchor his dentures. It made him crazy to be charged the same as for cleaning a full mouth-load of teeth.

Yikes! Sounds like a positive visit though, and with strawberry margarita-flavoured compound! :D I lost a rear crown a month or so ago, but you can't get into the dentist here. Fortunately there's no discomfort. Nice pic
It's a crown I'll be getting if I'm unlucky.
I had to go online for a strawberry margarita recipe. Looks like too much fuss, unless Costco has a mix.

Missing is my shirt pocket Bartending for Dummies, and a little holiday drink book in a box. The shirt-pocket book is always lost.
Does anybody recognize the pointy-headed guy above Boyer and Hepburn on the jacket of the Esquire Handbook for Hosts?

Good morning Guardians! :D I’ve got my Waynorth Cutlery Ebony Lambsfoot this morning. Another day of 90F+ temps here with afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the forecast. We’re in need of rain, but not the storms. I hope y’all can stay safe out there. :)

Amazing knife! I was lucky enough to get a bigger and ebony. But I passed the ebony off in a trade. Such great covers. It's gonna be hot in my area in California too. 102 tomorrow and then 105 sat and Sunday....:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

"Heat Index" is a way of making the weather news more sensational, in my opinion. Instead of saying "It's 105, and moderately humid." They can say, "Heat index of 110!"
I have no need of drinking hot tea in order to produce a cooling sweat. I'm sweating just fine on my own. :p My afternoon plans include iced tea, and a soak in my backyard, socially distanced, swimming pool. :D I'll add a little ice to the pool too, since even the water from the cold tap is pretty tepid this time of year.

Much like the Sharpmaker, The Ken Onion sharpener does a fine job of keeping an already sharp knife honed. I've never been very good at using a strop, especially when I'm trying not to round off the blade tip, so I mostly use it to touch up the edge with a few strokes on the fine ceramic hones.
I did try out the diamond flats to reprofile my Lambsfoot when new, and it works well enough. I can do it faster freehanded these days, though. I think the main advantage is if I want to know the actual angle I'm establishing, for instance putting a 30 degree bevel and than maintaining with 40 degree honing.

Thank you very much. Fall may be coming on the calendar, but I'll bet the pool will be useful at least through September.
Take care of yourself, as well.

Good morning Guardians, or it is here, Friday,. Been an eventful week everywhere even on the porch, i do feel sorry for Duncan though, NZ has had this rotten virus reappear from no-where after over 3 months, hope they get on top it quickly. Posting a pic that i feel is most relevant, it is one of my fav. lambsfoots, not most expensive or best quality, just one that i really like, i love the feel of it in hand, love the Rosewood scales and it just looks classy, thought it relevant to another thread started this week about A.Wright's. Also have my standard dress code accompaniment, face mask, have about 12 of them, and have become very proficient at washing them, i may start a little cottage industry, washing face masks while i have a captive audience.o_O Finally, and this is most relevant, it is a strop that was gifted to me from another "Porch" member, those that follow this thread regularly know who he is or can work it out, i feel no need to name him, but he is a good man, as are all people on this thread. This place is a sanctuary for many, educational, funny and witty and a place to form friendships, long may it continue, and no ------- politics:thumbsup: You all have a good weekend, take care and stay safe my friends.

It is amazing how somethings are the same all over the world, i was looking at your pool photo, and your backyard could be right here. Pool, shed, vegies, lawn, i feel as though i could be sitting right here looking over it.:)

You guessed it! :D He is certainly a character!

Good to know I was picturing the right bloke in my head every time you told a story about your mate from the tool stall. :D

British and Irish grandmothers are fond of saying that you should have a hot drink when the weather is warm, TO COOL YOU DOWN! I'm not sure if there is any actual science behind that, but I prefer to cool down with a cold pint! ;) :D

Yeah, I’ll stick with a cold one. :D

:D :D

I appreciate you rubbing it in about the weather Barrett! :p It's really been miserable here this summer! I've never seen the Pope Cookies. I've seen that PG tea here in the stores. It is probably as common as the Yorkshire Brand. Nice Ironwood there my friend! :)

It’s warmer today, Ron. All the way up to 88°F. A real scorcher. :)

We had to have our AC replaced at the beginning of the summer, and had to wait a couple weeks before they could come do the job. Of course, those felt like the hottest weeks we had all summer (and there definitely were some hot days in there). The rest of the summer has been fairly mild.

My afternoon plans include iced tea, and a soak in my backyard, socially distanced, swimming pool. :D I'll add a little ice to the pool too, since even the water from the cold tap is pretty tepid this time of year.

Not a problem here in Minnesota! :D

Wow Barrett! That is unbearable heat! I hope y'all will be able to stay comfortable my friend! ;) :D

Nice! I think because the ground doesn't freeze in the winter here, they don't bother to bury the water pipes very deep. I haven't put a thermometer to it, but I'll bet our cold water is closer to 80 in August. I know the little block of ice I put in the pool melted fast. I was fun to play with a little iceberg while it lasted. :D

I remember how warm the “cold” water could get in summer when we lived in Arizona. You had to be careful when you first turned the hose on, because the water left in the hose itself was HOT! :D

We first got Eleanor’s pool out this year on July 4th weekend. We had to let it sit in the sun for a while because that water from the hose was 57°!

Good evening, Guardians.

I'm enjoying a beverage made with this liqueur - something that my wife made up. Champagne, Grand Marnier, and mango seltzer - poured over ice. Very light and refreshing.

I have this wonderful SFO from Jack with me today - one of my many cherished knives.

That my friend sounds sensational. That sounds like a great afternoon drink on a hot summers day afternoon, enjoy.:p

I've never had one Jer, but I have seen the mix on sale :D Nice composition showing your 'Boozer's Library' there my friend ;) :)

It seems to be springing up all over mate :( I tried my best to stay out of that other thread, partly for reasons of diplomacy. I think I've made my despair with Wright's clear here in this thread many times, and I think they deserve much of the criticism. While I wouldn't buy any more of their knives, short of huge changes at the company, I do think there was a period when we all got some nice Lambsfoot knives from them. Certainly not a pain-free process though, for me at least. Nice strop there :)

Good to know I was picturing the right bloke in my head every time you told a story about your mate from the tool stall. :D

He thought it was hilarious when I told him! :D

Yeah, I’ll stick with a cold one. :D

Good choice! :D

I can’t keep this out of my pocket! working crazy and avoiding the covid
Edit-97° F on the way home from work, I did not mow the grass!

Glad you're enjoying it :) Hope you can keep cool :)

That sounds very nice Dylan :) I am fond of Grand Marnier myself, and always think I should drink it more often :) Great photo my friend, glad you like the knife

Good Morning Guardians, strange week. Thought I'd carry this one from 2017. Have a good day Guardians
