Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Weekly knife budgets are actually a figment of my over zealous imagination Jeff! ;) Your dad sounds a lot like my dad with that sense of humor! I would really love to have given my mom and dad something on my birthday. A hug would have been nice! We’ve enjoyed the visit but two weeks passes fast and she’s headed back to Metropolis on Saturday! ;)

You’ll be hugging them by and by, my friend.

That's good to hear Russell :) I'm doing OK thanks my friend  That's very interesting indeed, I wonder if it's some kind of pressed wood or wood-laminate, designed to simulate jigged bone? There was a lot of experimentation with covers in the 60's and 70's, as Sheffield manufacturers tried to cut costs, or sources of more traditional materials dried up. It looks to have been nicely made, and is similar in appearance to A. Wright's Lambsfoot knives. After 1947, the Nowill mark was used by F.E. & J.R. Hopkinson Ltd, though they mainly produced/sold fixed blade knives. After 1988, Jack Adams acquired the mark. Adams have only ever produced fixed blade knives, but sell folders they have made for them, produced for some years by Wright's

Thank you for the information on J Nowill & Sons. Good to know! I will take a closer look at the weekend on the handles, hopefully be able to make out what the material really is.

Woah! Jack, I don’t think I could sleep knowing I’d gained a whole POUND!

Same here my friend  ;)

A pleasure Russell, be interested to learn more. They have used all sorts of stuff for knife handles over the years in Sheffield. I used to know a cutler who, in the early 90's, was hafting knives with a material he had become familiar with from the handle of his fishing rod! :D

Good Morning Guardians, I'm off down to the market shortly. I'm usually down there already at this time, but with the kids going back to school here, I thought I'd travel a little later. Hope everyone has a good day. Take care and stay safe Guardians

Good morning Guardians and all. Busy day today so I'm starting it off with my HHB in my pocket. Looking a bit gloomy out there in Coastal North Carolina today but hoping for the best.

Another morning, another day! We're headed to town today for the wife's appointment at the beauty shop, lunch at the Wagon Wheel Cafe, and grocery shopping. Oh goody!!! I get to stock up on Hormel Hash, Hormel Chili with Beans, SPAM, Tiny Tot Sardines in Oil, Boar's Head Salami, and other junk foods. Yummy!!!
