Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thank you very much Duncan :) That knife Charlie sent me is in really good condition isn't it? One of my finest examples :) I do like those old Sheffield jigging patterns

That's good news Bill :) It went from bad to worse here, I got soaked going to get bread, and I had a waterproof jacket AND an umbrella! :eek o_O

LOL! :D Thanks Bill, he's my favourite uncle ;)

Good question Rachel, but there are no British laws requiring the manufacturer to give the provenance of an article, so, in theory, Sheffield-made knives don't even need to be stamped, 'Sheffield'. Obviously, in terms of cutlery items, there is considerable cachet in having the Sheffield stamp, but I find many Sheffield knives without an England mark. In the 1960's and 70's, there was a myth circulating in Sheffield that wily Japanese, (Japan being the main source of cheap cutlery competition then), had gone to the trouble of building an entire new town named Sheffield, just so they could stamp 'Made in Sheffield' on the blades! :D

Great to see you here Mark, and it's good to see that you, and your Lambsfoot, have been keeping busy :) That's a lot of snow my friend, we have some forecast here, but it will only be a fraction of that - it'll still bring the country to a standstill though! :D

:D

Hope @paulhilborn is doing alright, it's been a while since he dropped in here :)

Great photo of that rare and beautiful knife Taylor :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope that everyone is having a nice weekend :) Really rotten weather here yesterday, but the rain has finally stopped. I did just see a flurry of snow, but it's holding off the moment. I don't think I'll be going anywhere today anywhere, just going to do some housework, and then put my feet up with my Charlie Lamb :) Have a good day Guardians

Always enjoy seeing your knives Jack, also noticed in your sig line that Ron half/stop has passed, terribly sad news, I don't know how I hadn't heard that yet.

Thank you very much my friend :) Yes, tragic news about Ron, he passed very suddenly, and it has been a great loss. I miss him a lot, as I'm sure many of us do

Very nice knife but I don't get the "ozoned her" reference, I can be rather dense at times....either that or the long hours at work.
Sorry, Countess Mara is the tie. From the 70s, maybe. It will be good for the brown Harris tweed jacket that fits just right at the moment.
I got this Giannelli at the same place, and ozoned them both with my cpap sanitizer.

I get IT! Neck ties....not something I'm able to wear in close contact with patients or in the lab. Nice looking though..,

Toole makes a real nice lambsfoot

Very nice :)

When I grow up I want to be a Toole.....

...but unfortunately AW qc was asleep when they let this one slip by and the uneven grind was the least of the problems. The stag sides just irk my sense of esthetic balance.

Unfortunately their QC has been in a coma for a while now o_O

I bought Countess Mara used, but I ozoned her.

I used to treat myself to a silk tie now and again, and had a nice collection once, including some vintage ones from the 30's and 40's. Sadly, they were stolen, and now I only have one (Georgio Armani), and since I can't remember the last time I wore it, it's probably one more than I need  :D Great shot of your 2018 ebony Jer, neck ties make for an interesting background :)

Thank you. Sometimes I'll buy one thinking, "I'll wear that", but when it comes time to put it on, I'll think, "Yeah, maybe with a Hawaiian shirt to my next luau".

And another great shot of OTW :)

I had some bad news this evening, my best pal has tested positive for Coronavirus. He works in mental health, and volunteered to work on the hospital wards last Spring. He has been working with Covid patients these past few weeks, and doing a lot of extra hours because of staff shortages. He had his first shot of the Oxford vaccine a month ago, so since it didn't stop him becoming infected, I hope that it at least lessens the severity of the symptoms. He is 45, and very fit for his age, but has been suffering with asthma this past year. Ordinarily, he visits me on Friday mornings, and we have a coffee in my garden, but this Friday he had to work. He has three kids, so I'm hoping they're going to be alright too

I couldn't "like" your post though I love the knife. Your friend is living the nightmare we all have while working in healthcare. The vaccine should provide some protection and my heart and prayers go to him and his family.

Wishing the best for your pal Jack. Unfortunately there are no guarantees with the vaccine shots. Kudos to his assistance for his efforts for the medical community.

I wish they'd hurry up with those camelid nano-antibody vaccines. [Almost said something socio-political.]

I had a covid test myself this morning. I'm convinced I have a diverticulitis flare-up, but the doctor I saw said they've had some covid cases with the same symptoms. So I'll know in a couple of days.
Meanwhile, the antibiotics seem to be helping, and I still smell (joke), so I think I'm right about my malaise.

Wishing your pal the best of luck with the mildest of cases, Jack Black Jack Black .

Yes mate, hope every thing works out for him.

I had a covid test myself this morning. I'm convinced I have a diverticulitis flare-up, but the doctor I saw (my own doctor was stuck on the highway behind snow-related moron crashes) said it might be very early diverticulitis, but they've had some covid cases with the same symptoms. So I'll know in a couple of days if I can go to Praise Team rehearsal on Wednesday. (I don't sing myself; I'm on the Divine Ether-Surfing Techno-Dragon Team. (I've got the T-shirt all designed in my head, but I have an uphill battle changing the name from "Production Team")).
