Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Liked except for the squirrel, of course.

No covid detected in my test from yesterday, by the way. [No smiley face looks happy enough.]
I was expecting "positive" or "negative", but apparently they have so much confidence in our state of knowledge, that the best they can say is "none detected, but that doesn't mean it isn't there." I'll take it.

Glad you at least got a not positive result, hope it stays that way.:).

Now that is a Full Traditional English Breakfast, i can feel sticking to my insides already.:p:D:thumbsup:.

It went down well! :D :)

Exceptional day today here in NC:thumbsup:. Sunny and the mid-50's:). Worked on some electrical projects today and had my HHB by my side to help:thumbsup:. I'm basically exhausted and ready for dinner:D. Nighty-night time will come early.:D

Sounds like you've had a good day Bill, and your Hartshead Barlow is looking particularly fine in that pic :)

I had some bad news this evening, my best pal has tested positive for Coronavirus. He works in mental health, and volunteered to work on the hospital wards last Spring. He has been working with Covid patients these past few weeks, and doing a lot of extra hours because of staff shortages. He had his first shot of the Oxford vaccine a month ago, so since it didn't stop him becoming infected, I hope that it at least lessens the severity of the symptoms. He is 45, and very fit for his age, but has been suffering with asthma this past year. Ordinarily, he visits me on Friday mornings, and we have a coffee in my garden, but this Friday he had to work. He has three kids, so I'm hoping they're going to be alright too

Jack, so sorry to hear about your mate. Best wishes for him and his family - hopefully he pulls through ok.

I wish they'd hurry up with those camelid nano-antibody vaccines. [Almost said something socio-political.]

I had a covid test myself this morning. I'm convinced I have a diverticulitis flare-up, but the doctor I saw said they've had some covid cases with the same symptoms. So I'll know in a couple of days.
Meanwhile, the antibiotics seem to be helping, and I still smell (joke), so I think I'm right about my malaise.

Wishing your pal the best of luck with the mildest of cases, Jack Black Jack Black .

Jer, good to hear that you might not have Covid but I hope your health improves all the same. Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Carrying a favorite today.

Dear all, not sure of protocol but have just joined because this forum kept popping up on Google searches whilst researching the knife my father-in-law left me. I have a small collection of old pocket knives as I work on square rigged tall ship's and use knives in the workplace. Anyhow, back on topic, I know nothing about Lambs foot knives hence my search. Hopefully someone can identify this knife and give me an idea of age. Hopefully i will sort out inserting pictures in due course...
Cheers all.

Welcome to the Forums young man . You may regret it . There are many Enablers on here that want to show you a very nice sharp edged cutting tools . As Jack Black Jack Black has suggested , there can be Much More information to be had if you can find what is stamped on the Tang Area .

JakeBlight,
Interesting to see another uncommon lambfoot model without bolsters which is called a "shadow" pattern as Jack mentioned. I would also agree with Jack that it dates to the 1940s to 1950s era.
I would be curious to know if you can make out a maker's stamp on the blade just above the handle. Enclosed is a similar example from the same era by H. Rowbotham who were out of business by 1969.

Jack,
Sorry to hear about your friend and I hope he recovers quickly.

Thanks for the video of "Clanadonia". Very entertaining and my son will certainly enjoy seeing it tomorrow.

Darn cold stretch of weather here in the great northern part of the country. After waking up to 15 below yesterday, it warmed up to a balmy 0.
Enclosed is a picture to show that it can be pretty decent around here at least part of the year... :)

It's snowing outside again here, coming down quite fast at the moment, though it doesn't look to be settling much. Judging from the news reports, we seem to be doing pretty well here in Leeds, compared to other parts of the country. I'm just getting ready to dish out some leek and potato soup for lunch

My Mum would have put that spoon to good use, giving me the rounds of the kitchen.:D:D:D;).
