Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Jack Black Jack Black You're only young turning 60, i don't know what your" bluein " about.:D:D:D:D. Anyway here are a couple of thing i know you like for your birthday, some of your favorite pastimes.. The last one alas is only in spirit, but it is the best of our wines, aged properly, it is just so good, it is about 1/7 the price of Grange Hermitage. A lot of people will argue with me, but Hermitage is over rated, especially when you throw in the price, trust me mate Penfolds St. Henri is better. And you know what they say, never trust anyone who says trust me.;). Have a good one mate, whenever the official day is.
First one, i know you like trains. Here are 2 refurbished Victorian Railways Loco's at Spencer Street Station..

Hello everyone, I’ve finally gotten my first Lambs-foot! :) A TEW in ram’s horn. The F&F is very nice, although the blade does move side to side a bit in the closed position but is solid in the open position. I have to admit that when I first opened it I was heartbroken because in the low light I thought it was cracked. Once I got it outside I could see that the whiteish line I thought was a crack is not. Looking closer I can see it has several whitish striations at different depths on both sides all following the same curvature, and none on the very smooth surface. I’m outside in good light now and I can’t get over how much character is in these covers. I actually really like it. It reminds me of when I was a boy and would lay face down and and look through all the fissures in the ice, or peering into a cats eye marble. My only complaint is the movement of the blade when closed. I have to be careful when I open it so I don’t push the blade up against the liner and put scratches in the blade. Other than that, I’m really liking it so far and I’m beginning to understand the love you all have for the Lambfoot!

One thing about those old ' rough hole ' pubs, they were great learning places. And one thing you learnt was to " Keep Your Eyes Open and Your Mouth Shut ".;)

I consider myself lucky to have been in so many of them mate! :D

Happy birthday jack. It got me thinking you are closer to my kids' age than you are to me. Will soon post processing some recent arrivals.

-Mel

Thank you Mel, I don't know if you are familiar with the expression 'I had a big paper-round'? ! :D

I'm still 59 until Tuesday mate! o_O :D  Thank you very much Leon :) A few decades back, wine was an absolute passion of mine, and I worked as a wine lecturer. I was, and still am, extremely fond of Australian wines, and Penfolds in particular. These days, for the most part, I drink mediocre wines, bought primarily from the supermarket, but I used to have a decent cellar, and have drunk some great wines. Grange is absolutely stunning, but the last time I tried to buy some I couldn't get hold of any, at any price. I'd be surprised if I haven't tasted St Henri at some point, but I don't have all my old tasting notes unfortunately (well, not necessarily 'unfortunately', they are probably quite pretentious). I'll have to try and make another acquaintance my friend, thanks for the recommendation, maybe I'll put a bottle away for my 70th! :D ;) Fabulous trains, and a spectacular Lambsfoot of course :)

Happy Birthday, Jack Black Jack Black , you young whelp.

Thanks my friend! :D

And a jazzy birthday wish for Jack Black Jack Black

That certainly blew the cobwebs away Ted! :D Thanks :)

Happy Birthday, Jack!

Thank you Joshua :)

Allow me to wish the happiest of birthdays to a kind and wonderful human being!

Thank you very much, that's very kind of you :)

I wish you a most excellent birthday, Jack!

Carrying the Hartshead today - it served me excellently while doing some spring chores.

Thanks Dylan, I'll try to have a good one, despite the circumstances :) Good to see your Hartshead Barlow, and that's a great-looking pipe, you must have quite a collection now

I usually make a sourdough rye, it pairs well with the plum jam I make from my plum tree.

Well done :) Hope you're keeping well good sir :)

Happy Birthday Jack my friend. I hope you have had a fabulous day - you deserve it :) ;)

Thanks a lot pal, I'll try to have a good one :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Thank you for the birthday wishes, though I feel a bit guilty soaking them up when my birthday isn't until Tuesday. It's going to be a funny one (again) this year, with all the pubs and restaurants closed  It's a dull start here today, so I hope it brightens up a bit later. Enjoy your Sunday Guardians :)
