To get the water out? No,
i hadn't heard of that. I'll look into it.
Thanks. Sounds like a plan. You can press it first, but freezing tofu changes it completely, making it much firmer
My version.CRACK!
Young Jack: "What's that for?"
Mother: "That's before you start!"
Looks like the M15 freeway.ordinarily I wouldn't expect to see a soul on that stretch of country road mid-week
Glad to hear you're starting to come good.I am slowly getting better but my allergies are complicating things a bit. The Covid cough is hanging on and the fatigue is still dogging me but I'm eventually going to beat it
.
Yeah, just a bit of light reading there.Think I'm going to have an early night, with a good (birthday) book
That last photo is a beautiful old building.LOL! I bet you got a hiding for that!
One litre; the medium sized model they do. I thought I'd split the difference between a decent water capacity and amount of fuel used. But seeing how fast these things boil I don't think that's a consideration really so I could of gone with the largest.
Your welcome Jack, I hope you like them.
Yeah a lot of the smaller breweries in the UK have moved over to cans, especially the newer 'craft' breweries with their more modern brews. There's still a big call from the traditionalists for bottles. I prefer bottles but in all honesty there's absolutely no difference in taste. But there is in volume, our tins 440ml, our bottles are 500ml. Less beer for the same price.
LOL! Barrett. You've only gone and chosen what is probably the most expensive of London's traditional pubs.Yip, it's a nice pub, but I'd have to sell one of my more important internal organs to afford anything in there.
I remember you posting those Bath shots; it looked a great pub. I think it was on my list of things to do as well but that'll never happen now.
Now that looks perfect.
Fantastic locos. There used to be a railway museum in Melbourne didn't there? Without looking it up I can't remember what it's called but it's at the mouth of the Yarra if I recall.
Happy Birthday Jack.
Yesterdays walk.

Guess Pt-Luso hasn't checked back in, so I'll toss this to the regiment. What say ye Guardians ... M.May Lambsfoot? ThanksPt-Luso that's a nice looking knife !!! I'm interested in knowing what you think of the M.May knife or knives you have. I was looking pretty hard last night at an ergonomic handle 01 tool steel lambsfoot offering of his ... not in stock and several weeks to make. I watched one youtube video of a lambsfoot M.May knowingly supplied to a video reviewer and the blade was found to be slightly off center but otherwise very good F/F. Do you know anything about his consistency? After all, I think he's been making knives for less than 10yrs. Thanks
OH ... any thoughts as to why he puts a swedge on the blade mark side but not the pile side?
What say ye Guardians ... M.May Lambsfoot? Thanks![]()
Thank you for the reply. I was afraid of that. My gut said if M.May sent a fine example of his work to a widely known video reviewer and the reviewer found obvious fault ... his efforts would be "luck of the draw", like so many others. While no knife is perfect, I'm just searching for consistent quality in a proper and attractive traditional English work knife. Some of y'all may have gotten ALL of them I'm afraid LOL.I bought one from him back in 2019. Shoddy work. Tang sat crooked in the bolster. I recall his story was that his apprentice made it and it got sent out before M. May could inspect it. I ended up sending it back for a refund.

EDIT: I have one(1) highly functional but mostly unremarkable A.Wright Lambsfoot and one on the way to me in rosewood. I would like to acquire a third Lambsfoot but want a very good one. I've searched for a good one and stumbled on M.May but can not find many thoughts on his efforts. The problem is, I may never be happy LOL. I think I could search until the end of my days and not find a Lambsfoot as fine as some of the SFOs and others here. So very regrettably I missed all the good ones. Shoot.
My one and only (so far) Lambsfoot ... her name is Sarah ... and she never belonged to Mary

Thank you Dan, me and my companions were discussing your many talents, and that photo, as we walked along yesterdayIt's one of my favourites, and I thought I should make an effort to compete, with some wildlife I found along the way

Thanks Jack. They tell me that I'm over it now and done with self quarantine but that the fatigue will last awhileThanks Bill, I'm glad you're still on the mend, and hope you're back to full fitness very soon my friend![]()

I thought my ears were burning a couple days agolol
Such cool wildlife you guys got there![]()

This one here was not so cool, although it sort of redeemed itself after posing for a pic with my African rosewood lamb.
During the night we heard some noises, found a small hole in the little tent we use for food.
What he really was after was the scraping of macaroni and cheese my wife had dumped further in the forest while cleaning the cast iron pan.

Thanks Jack. They tell me that I'm over it now and done with self quarantine but that the fatigue will last awhile. Still some coughing but some of that is just my allergies. The tree pollen is rolling in like a fog; you can actually see it blowing like clouds of dust in the wind
. In the middle of all this I'm packing our belongings in preparation of a move into a new home....stirring up more dust
! We are only moving a short distance away thank goodness.

I have heard that MM acquires much of the knife parts from Wright but I can't confirm that.
Thanks Jack. I have no idea how I picked up the COVID but of the dozens of folk that I came in contact with none have had any symptoms including my wife Kathi. I received a phone call from "Contact Tracing" and was asked about who I had contact with for ten days prior to my symptoms. They then said I could have gotten from the gasoline pump handle or anywhereLOL!![]()
Oh no!What a bandit!
It's certainly a great photo though Dan, well done
![]()
That's good to hear Bill, I hope that the fatigue passes soon. Any idea how you picked it up? I don't think it would be hard to catch here, with the way people are behavingSorry to hear about your allergies, it must be awful, my son-in-law suffers badly
What a time to move!
I hope it all goes well
I've just been out for a walk round the neighbourhood, much quieter than out in the countryside, but it's a lot cooler here today. I bought some nice sourdough, and also got a cherry pie from a small local supermarket. I bought an apple pie from there a few weeks ago, and it wasn't baked properly in the middle. The cherry pie is even worse! It's such a rotten shop! If they weren't part of a chain, I don't think they'd stay open
