Glad you made it through the storm Todd :) I'm glad you enjoyed your margaritas, it's been too long since I last had one. I'm afraid i had to work solidly until I couldn't type anymore, and I'll be back to it again in a minute. The days of sitting around in my garden half of the day (like in the first lockdown here) are over for now, I'm afraid :rolleyes: ;) :thumbsup:

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend :) Summer is a bit slow getting started here this year, and I've even had to put the heating on the last few nights. I don't think it's forecast to get any warmer than the low 60's here today :rolleyes: I thought I'd carry some Ironwood today :) This is the original sample I had for the 2019 Guardians SFO, which the Butter Fingered Oaf did his best to ruin :rolleyes: Have a good week everyone, and carry your Lambsfoot without mishaps ;) :thumbsup:

Jack, the covers have such character on that knife. Based on your comments it seems that there must have been some other aspects that weren't up to snuff.

Don't know where the weekend went - just blew byo_O. Today I'm giving my HHB a rest and having my Ebony with me for a change.:thumbsup: Summer is in full battle array today with the humidity and temperatures well into the 90's.😅

That's a bit of an story Bill, but I'm sure some of your fellow Guardians will remember The BOF! :rolleyes: I had just got that sample, and the Ironwood covers had turned out much better than I had hoped. I'd only taken a few pics of it, and had it with me when I went to Leeds market. I was showing it to a market trader I know, when he suddenly snatched it out of my hand, tried opening the blade, fumbled it, and somehow managed to throw it high into the air, from where it came crashing down onto some textured concrete several yards away :eek: The mark side Ironwood was damaged, along with one of the pins, and it was a few months before I was able to get it fixed. By that time, I had bonded with Lucy, my other 2019 Lambsfoot, and this one hasn't been carried much since I'm afraid :( :thumbsup:

That's how weekends go buddy! :D Nice to have a change now and again, and that's a good-looking ebony :) :thumbsup:
 
It's 10:20 in the morning and already 100º . I was going to take this Standard out to the shop to do some light cutting but although the shop has an air conditioner it'll take forever to cool the shop down once I turn it on so, I'll still carry it today and use it whenever I run across something that needs cutting, slicing, trimming, etc. in the house.

My new arrival! Ive been waiting since april, and i have to say i think it was worth the wait. Awsome stag, smooth action, a few gaps here and there but nothing bad. The pull it pretty stiff but hopefully will ease up a bit with some oil and use. I still dont know if it will knock my hhb out of my pocket but it will surly ride along for a few days! Thanks Charlie :) The other traders on Leeds Market still refer to him as The Butter-Fingered Oaf (which he certainly is)! :rolleyes::thumbsup:

About 3 years ago, I started helping an author friend of mine with a novel she's writing, which is based in Leeds. She's already made a couple of research trips here, but hasn't been able to get down from Scotland for the past 18 months, because of the Covid restrictions. We met up tonight, so I could show her around another part of Leeds, which included a couple of pubs ;) Lots of historical and etymological talk, but only a little about cutlery :rolleyes: Had my BFO-bruised #19 along for the journey ;) Sadly, I didn't get a pic, but we had dinner in a historic old pub, which was the tap for Tetley's Brewery, which once dominated the city, and by chance we got talking to a feller whose dad worked there for 25 years. Sadly, the brewery is no more, but here's Lucy with what I think some folks call a 'homage' :D ;) :thumbsup:
