I guess we're all being "Black Guardians" today, in deference to your croissant, Jack, so RALF fits right in!

LOL! :D Thanks my friend, those are great photos of RALF :) I really wish I had taken a photo of that coal-black croissant, (or cornetti, as cudgee cudgee pointed out), with my Ebony Big 'Un yesterday. While it tasted completely different to how it looked, I can't see me having another :D I called in at the same Sicilian place for a toasted sandwich today, which was just amazing :)
Good old faithful ebony lamb helped me prepare some fish last evening.
He was like "Where are the chips ? " Rice will have to do for now, I promised him next time we'll have fish AND chips

I've really enjoyed reading about your adventures in the A Walk in Nature thread Dan :) That looks delicious my friend

Hope everyone's having a good day :) I had to go into the city centre, which was a little crazy  Picked up my new specs, and a couple of new pairs of shoes. It's pretty warm here today

Now I am on a quest to try the recipe for the famous British style fried fish.
I tried it when we visited Prince Edward Island a couple years ago, there were fish and chips stands all over the island. Their fried fish looks exactly the same as the pictures I see in the British recipes.

Remembering P.E.I. :)

I am still carrying my AC today - I really sat down and studied that Knife again last Night- just a beautiful Knife!
I'm glad you're still enjoying it Duncan :)
I've just pulled this Bagpipe Ebony Lambsfoot beauty out of the post box, direct from a kindly and generous Leeds Gentleman, Jack Black; my new favorite slicer! Thanks again Jack! 😁
I'm glad it made it JJ :) That's the last of the bagpipe models I had made
Thanks Jack :)

That's fascinating about Prince Edward Island Dan, and a stunning pic  I hope you can find a good recipe (I noticed YouTube had a good few videos on the subject). I'm sure I have one, but only recall deep-frying fish a few times, and I was actually using Italian and Spanish recipes, and frying whitebait and swordfish! :D Traditionally, fish and chip shops here have been rather secretive about their recipes, with them only changing hands when businesses were sold :D
A little late in getting a post up on our Guardians siteo_O. Storms in the area had power down for a bit but we are now electrified again! :D Been carrying my Ebony like everyone else.

Sorry to hear about the power being down Bill, but it's great to see your ebony Lamb :) You've reminded me I need to clean my keyboard! :D ;)

Eric
That's a fantastic George Butler Eric  Congratulations, they always made a very nice knife in my experience :) Welcome to the Guardians :)

Good morning Guardians, hope everyone is doing OK. I finally got my new reading glasses yesterday, after a couple of months of messing around, and going back and forward to the opticians. Since my distance prescription hadn't changed, and I was quite happy with my everyday specs, I decided not to get another pair of distance glasses, but I regret that now. I was just trying on my new readers last night, when the arm and hinge of my distance glasses separated. As I wear them all the time, this was something of a major incident. I've taped them up for now, and hoping I can get them repaired over the next couple of days, which may not be possible. Either way, I think I'm going to have to start the whole process again, and get another pair, which I can't say I relish  Don't think I'm going to be able to get into town today anyway, as I have too much work on 😕

I enjoyed carrying my 2018 Guardians Lambsfoot so much yesterday, I thought I'd drop it in my pocket again today ;) Have a good one Guardians

There seems to an issue with the BF server at the moment, so I'll post this when I can :(

Keep it simple my friend.
1 Cup of self raising flour.
1/2 Teaspoon of salt.
1 Cup COLD soda water.

Mix dry ingredients, add COLD soda water and mix to make batter. Place in fridge for half an hour covered, mix again, then dip fish fillets in the batter and fry. :p

Gracias Leon, it's only a matter of time now before I'll give it a try :)

We wanted to go back this year but things here are very slowly opening up and we did not want to risk our vacation plans.
Next year  :)
