Great looking pocket slip for your Hartshead beauty!!!Good morning Guardians, I don't usually get a chance to check in on Thursday mornings, but with all Covid regulations abolished here now*, they're packing people onto the buses again, so I thought I'd hang on a while, and go after the rush. Had a few problems with my internet connection the past 24 hours, so I'm hoping that's short-lived. It's going to be another hot day here, by British standards. Hope everyone has a good day

* New infections are up 40% to 333,870 in the past week, deaths are up 60% to 366 in the same period.
It's always very cool to see your awesome tool finds; the cake looks pretty sweet, too!had fun at the market, and even had a little cakeAnnoyingly the High Street opticians couldn't repair my distance glasses, so I have to buy a new pair - imagine that!
Another hot and humid day here, and I'm looking forward to a beer in the garden this evening

Great looking pocket slip for your Hartshead beauty!!!I've noticed climbing Covid rates here, in the Ventura, CA region, since they unleashed the population, as well!

Nice find Kevin, that's a Sheldon Knife, and if you want to know more about the pattern (there are several different blade variants), there's a thread about them hereI got a new one today....i believe it qualifies as a lambsfoot, if not i will edit my post. I hadn't seen a friction folder one yet so i scooped this one up. View attachment 1605000
Pampa as in Pampas knife? I should have one because I'm part Welsh.

The cake was sold as 'School Tart', and it certainly looks like something I might have been served at school

And an awesome gift it is! From what I've seen in your market images, you have quite a cool area to shop; the cake looked like a winner (love the "School Tart" moniker!
Those Sheldon knives were sold on both sides of The Pond, with various names, and with a number of manufacturers stamps, and yet have slipped into obscurity, so it's always nice to see one. I had intended to do an SFO of the pattern. I hope you find the other thread interesting, for me, when Mr Sheldon's grandson contributes, it is one of those magic BF momentsThanks for the link jack. I love finding unique knives and finding out the history of them.
LOL Thanks pal! When it comes to Sheffield history, you " Da " man.![]()

That looks like a lovely spot my friend, very atmospheric picsI wanted to get in on the lambsfoot and whiskey pictures, and my wife bought me a nice bottle while we take a little vacation on the beach, but I didn't get a chance until after the kids were all asleep. It was well after sundown, stars were out, but there was still some color on the western horizon, so I decided to test out my phone's night mode. I am pretty impressed actually!
Cheers and good evening from the Oregon Coast to the Guardians all over the world.

Thanks JJ, the market isn't what it used to be I'm afraid, the city council have been trying to gentrify it for years, and high rents have led to fewer traders. I'll keep supporting it while it's there thoughAnd an awesome gift it is! Thanks for your kind words Leon, and for treading carefullyI would like to make a comment, but i need to be careful, i don't want to transgress any Guardian rules. I have noticed something over the last week, but it especially came to fruition today. The interest that Jack has sparked in the Lambsfoot knife needs to be recognized, and today proved it. My history with the Lambsfoot has been well documented on this thread, i knew about the knife, but not much of it's history when i joined the Guardians. But i probably knew a bit more than most here, but to see the interest in the Lambsfoot now is quite astonishing. Last year while bored out of my tiny little brain in lockdown, i broke down all the figures for the Guardians thread since it's inception, just amazing for a style of knife that not many had heard of before Jack started this thread. But when the well respected Charlie Campagna was involved with GEC to release the first American made Lamb, then it really took off, every man and his dog wanted one. At the same time another knife was released of a similar blade shape, the 93, and one of the most popular releases of a GEC if you read all the comments and posts, and then there was the release of the 2019 Forum knife also one the the most popular forum knives according to a lot of members. I will try and be discreet here, but one of the oldest style blades is the spear, and very popular still today, but this is the thing i have noticed over the last week. GEC released a key ring knife, a shape similar to a Lamb, and a spear. All the Similar to the Lamb sold out very quickly, the spear hung around for a while, a fair while in one case. There was a release today, about 6 hours ago, all the not quite Lamb gone, i can still get the other one as i type, a GEC still sitting on shelves 6 hours after release who would of thought. The purpose of my rant is to just say how popular the Lambsfoot has become, after hardly anyone knowing about it, it is credit to Jack, Charlie and all who visit this most welcoming place. If i have broken any guide lines, i will delete this post no questions asked.Nothing to see here, move on.
