I thought that was a whole tree that had fallen over from the first photo!

The Lambsfoot in the second helps give a sense of scale (I didn’t even see the Lambsfoot in the first photo until just now); still, I wouldn’t want to be standing (or parked) under that when it came down!
That’s my philosophy exactly, Jack, although I’ve never put it into words quite as well as you have there.

The last thing you need is to lend some idiot your Lambsfoot and have it come back a Tanto.
Looks good to me, Leon.

I like the coloring on the back; reminds me of an acorn squash.
I’ve watched
The Sopranos a couple times now, and in addition to red wine and Italian food, I find that I smoke more cigars than I normally would during the time I’m watching it.
Absolutely beautiful old knives, Rob!
That looks like my kind of meal, Jack!

I’m with
r8shell
, just needs a couple jalapeños on top.
Glad to hear you had a nice time with your friend, Jack. The fall weather’s been the same here in MN so far, warmer than it should be. In previous years we might see a little snow by mid-October, but this year I’m still wearing shorts!
Speaking of Poland, just yesterday I was checking the tracking on a package headed to our friend
Jolipapa
and saw an update that said it had just arrived in Warsaw! I’m not sure how they managed to overshoot France by so much!
I like beans if I’m eating a bowl of chili, but prefer it without for a chili dog or Frito chili pie.
Those look like excellent boots, David. Seems like full leather hiking boots are rare these days. I bought my current pair maybe 10 years ago, and while they’ve got plenty of life left in ‘em, I was dreading the day when I’d eventually have to replace them. Thankfully I was poking around online a while back and found an outdoor shop with the same pair (they had recently been discontinued) in my size, so now I have a backup pair waiting in the closet.
Shoe sizing can be irritating, can’t it? I wear a US 13, which can at least be found in most shoes (though just barely, depending on the brand), and a 46 in Birkenstock’s (don’t judge

, I like their clogs for around the house or stepping out to grab the mail).
Looks like a fine Thanksgiving meal!
Great photo of your Hartshead Barlow, José!
That’s awesome!
I think I might have mentioned it before, but there’s a restaurant in Arizona called the Cornish Pasty Co. that sells a Royale with Cheese pasty.
Happy birthday,
cudgee
!! Jack, did you choose that cake because it’s surrounded by Yorkshire Kit Kats?
Here’s my Rosewood Lambsfoot, with one of the coal-resin fairy doors Jack mentioned recently, which he sent as a gift for Eleanor a few years ago.
