Deleted.Unfortunately a lambsfoot knife is a want I have yet to fulfill. Maybe one day though.
I guess it would increase the surface area. Cutlers talk about polishing 'sealing' the steelI don't know whether or not the bone has some sort of coating, but perhaps a lightly sanded surface gives the solution more to grab onto. I've noticed that a textured steel will get rust spots faster than highly polished.
How about sanding one side? As you say, we're all just guessing my friendThanks Rachell, much appreciated. The bone question is a curly one, the amount of bubbles indicating activity attached to the covers is no difference between sanded and non sanded, but any input you have is appreciated, i always respect your opinion being a craftsman/knife person. I will just leave it for a week, then start again if there is no difference and see what happens then. Have a good day and thanks again.![]()
Nice photos Rob, Sheffield cutlers once took great pride in their clean and square joints@btb01 Thanks Barrett ! I appreciate the compliment ! In my opinion the oldest of the 4 is this one with a flush and clean joint. Looking at the joint it appears to be loose and wobbly but it's very tight with no play in any direction, It's a joy to carry and use, has a on the heavy side just right pull for me.

Served with some Texan BBQ sauce and hand cut baked potato chips. We might even finish with some of the nice Bourbon Whiskey you would have stashed..
Good thinking Batman. How about sanding one side
Have a great day John, had a busy morning here
looking good.I usually use a gimlet, and a pocket knife awl to make the lanyard holes on my walking sticks, but the seasoned ash I'm working on is so hard, I'm going to get out a hand-drill. My grandfather's brother worked for Stanley, who made this one

Thank you, Jack.Have a great day John
I use the awl .....
edited. My reason for not specifying the knife is that it isn't a Lambsfoot, and this is the Lambsfoot thread![]()
