Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

It does give it a classy finish, it is what a lot of the old timers/knifers would call a Sunday best knife. It would only be pulled out on Sunday for Sunday best, the rest of the week was usually work clothes with a old work knife.

Like this one.:)

That reminds me of what Stan Shaw said to me when he rang me up one night to tell me he'd made me a Lambsfoot. He knew I preferred carbon steel, but he'd made it in stainless. He said, "I thought you could keep it for best"! :D It would be his birthday next week :( RIP Stan

Interesting, I don't think anyone else in Sheffield does that. A few Guardians have modded the covers in various ways. I have to say I'm something of a minimalist/lazy! :D I occasionally THINK about doing something with them, but they generally just get sharpened as needed, and oiled when I get round to it! :D ;) Nice pic Leon, I like that pouch
It's been two years since you sent me this Big-un in ebony, Jack.

I'll repost the pics of a modification I did to round off the wood on the butt end. So much more comfortable now!

Perfect photo.

I have followed this thread for the past couple of years and have been interested in finding a good lambsfoot knife. There have been few on the Knife Exchange here, or on eBay, so I decided to try my luck with ordering a new Joseph Rodgers direct from England. It arrived today and I present here some pictures. View attachment 1688605The horn covers are spectacular, particularly the mark side. Fit and finish is wonderful. Bolster transitions perfect. Pull is about a 6. My only small complaint is that the backspring is a tiny bit low when closed. Weight is 64 grams (2.25 ounces), blade length 2-1/4" and 5-1/8" open, 3-1/2 closed. These dimensions are right in my sweet spot for EDC. Glad to finally be a knife-carrying member of the thread, at long last.
Congrats on the new lambsfoot, Dave; I'm glad you're very happy with it! That horn is outstanding; very impressive stalagmite/stalactite "feathering" in the mark side horn!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

I need to reword this post: can anyone recommend to me a newer maker who makes lambsfoot traditionals?

Thank you.

Wow, hasn't time flown Rachel, I had no idea?! Cool pics! :D Nice work :)
That looks like a cartoon I could use in my classes as a "transition slide" (along with the the one I currently use reminding students of proper and improper ways to wear COVID masks)!:thumbsup::thumbsup: 🤓

My lambsfoot this week is Man Jack, a stag "senator" pattern I won in a GAW from a BF member who lived in Manchester, England at the time (September 2015). Here are a couple of shots of Man Jack when he first arrived:

Nice to see your Man Jack Gary :)
Thought of posting that very clip, so I read the next few posts. Sure enough....👍🏻
LOL! :D I was just thinking of you last night Vince :) I hope you're OK, and that you have a Happy Thanksgiving
In on... 2700 o_O
Who'd have thought it?!

Good morning Guardians, I don't usually get the chance to call in on Thursday mornings, but there was to be no lazing around in bed until 6.30am today 😏 I better get my skates on now though, or I'll be late. Have a great day, and a Happy Thanksgiving to all our US members :)
