Good Morning Guardians and Happy New Year
We went to bed early, around 10:30 last night. Woke up at 12:00 to the usual sounds of fireworks and gun shots. I crawled out of bed and went to my window and watched the most beautiful display. My neighbors were shooting fireworks over their pond and it was lighting up the sky. It looked really cool and I'm glad I got to see it.

2021 was better than 2020.
I'm hopeful the trend will continue and 2022 will be even better yet.
Yes, but I hope there's a bigger difference though :D There were certain things I enjoyed about the first lockdown we had here, though without the lovely weather we had at the time, it wouldn't have been the same. I spent a lot of time outdoors, talking to my neighbours over the wall, and there seemed to be a lot more wildlife. It was great to be able to go for a walk, and not see any traffic, and if you saw another person, they'd wave and smile, and exchange a few socially distanced pleasantries. Comparatively, the other lockdowns, while less strict, were rotten :(
Lol... 🤣
I'm always amazed at people that can speak multiple languages.
I myself am language challenged and struggle enough with English.
LOL! :D I get them mixed up a bit as I get older, or at least struggle more not to :D I used to have a Polish neighbour, who spoke German, as well as English, but he was a belligerent drunk, and I was glad when he moved a couple of years ago. I hadn't heard from him since, but he rang me, completely out of the blue, last night. He was so drunk, he was struggling to speak English, and it was a rather rambling, incoherent one-way conversation. He told me that he had forgotten how to speak English because he was learning Spanish, but when I spoke to him in Spanish, it turned out he didn't speak Spanish at all! :D
Happy New Year, Jack. :)
And the same to you my friend, I hope it's a good one for all of us :)

Sounds amazing John :) Everyone seems to love fireworks in my neighbourhood, and they were going off from early evening! :D That's a great photo mate, have you been practicing fractal burning?

I often talk about the positives of our lockdown (we only had one). It was very quiet and peaceful, even if it was restrictive. Like you said, the wildlife started coming around more and more and people were more active, out walking and looking for social encounters. I think we should have a lockdown week every year just to help re-set everything. ;)
have you been practicing fractal burning?
Not me... I'm afraid of working with electricity. 😱
My Brother-in-Law is a woodworker and he has guy do the Lightning Wood for him.

Perhaps wisely so, in this case  I read a warning from an American woodworking society

I fancied a break from cooking, so I picked up a curry with last night's pizza, and sat down to eat it with a cold beer, and Gangs of New York ;) Hotter than Bill The Butcher's temper! :D

Lots of traditional knives in that movie, and not one of ‘em was a Lambsfoot! 😡😉😁

How’s that White Christmas ale? Sounds interesting.
