Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Comic book stores are always fun for me and my boys... my wife tolerates them.

When I was a kid, they didn't have comic book stores here, but there was a stall in the market where you could buy second-hand comics real cheap, and swap your old ones 2 for 1. I didn't get back into comics until I was in my mid 20's, and then there were proper comic shops :) I don't dote on comics the way I once did sadly, I read them occasionally, and go into comic shops even less frequently. I might have to recruit my mate's eldest lad, and go and check them out a bit more thoroughly ;)

If any of you folks have Amazon Prime, and fancy a feel-good movie to wind up the weekend, you might enjoy this one ;)

LOVE this pic   It's funny that those old-style pencil-sharpeners are made from magnesium. I wish I'd known that at school, could have had a lot of fun! :D ;)

Thanks, Jack. I’d never really thought twice about them being made of magnesium, certainly could be interesting! 😀 I rarely use wooden pencils these days, and when I do I prefer a two-step long point sharpener, but I keep those little ones around for the kids colored pencils, crayons, etc.

One of my girlfriend's students gave her these (they used to be called Opal Fruits here once), and she tried palming them off on me yesterday. They're far too sweet to eat! :D

I loved them as a kid, but not as much any more.

I still like them, although I don’t ever buy them (I just eat them from the kids’ Halloween or Valentine's candy). 😁 The red/cherry is my favorite, although pink/strawberry seems to be more popular. That said, you’ve definitely got some different flavors over there than we have here; I’ve never seen a blackcurrant Starburst! 🙂

That was the Tan Hill Inn Barrett

Thanks Barrett. No that was the Tan Hill Inn in North Yorkshire that got snowed in, which is this place in the distance.

Sorry, gents, I’m afraid I worded my question poorly. David had mentioned The White House being England’s third highest pub, and I thought I remembered the snow-in being at England’s highest pub, but wasn't sure if I was remembering that correctly, or what the name of the pub was. Thanks for the clarification. (I still contend that a pub wouldn’t be too bad a place to be snowed in.) 😉😁

I may regret this in the morning, but I have one mince-pie left, and I didn't have a Rusty Nail at Christmas ;) Cheers Guardians

Whoa! That's news to me! I always assumed they were aluminum; are they still made of magnesium? I know I have a few around here somewhere.

Blackcurrent sounds fancy. I've only seen boring stuff like cherry and strawberry here.

I'd prefer a licorice flavor. (liquorice flavour?)

The only things I use pencils these days are for are carpentry and for use with a waterproof notebook - and sometimes when I can't find a pen! :D Sharpening pencils is probably one of my oldest uses for a pocket knife

With the exception of liquorice, and boiled cough sweets, the only time I ever buy candy is to send overseas! :D

Being stranded in a snowed-in pub has always been a dream of mine! :D
Thanks mate :)

I bought a couple 2-3 years ago, and they were still magnesium Rachel, and the one in Barrett's photo is marked 'Magnesium'. I've no idea why they are made that way, but I believe they still are

Great pic Rachel  I like liquorice toffees, but I can't eat a single one without losing fillings or crowns! :D
That’s a kind thing to say. I’m trying Brother.

I’m having some rigatoni myself, tonight. It looks great.
I hope you enjoyed it Harvey :)

Just a quick pic to get us off of the middle of page 2!

Your Lambsfoot is looking good Tyson :) Thanks again for the intervention

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend :) The weather here is still miserable I'm afraid! I need to head into town later, but have some work to do first. Have a good week Guardians, I hope it gets off to a good start

May you be swift and sure-footed Jer
I predict the weather will clear up for you... in a couple of months. ;)
I was talking to a neighbour earlier, who knew the exact number of days since we last had some sunshine :(
Good Morning Guardians
My boy is headed back to Omaha this morning... I'm going to miss him, it's been a great visit.
I hope he can visit again soon John :)
My son went back yesterday. My daughter just got back from her training trip to Florida and is coming here today for a quick visit before heading back to school. Then it’s back to the empty nest. 😊View attachment 1718367
It's strange how fast it happens isn't it? Some nice wood on your Lambsfoot there Todd

I managed to get a haircut at last! 🎉Barber Brian,(having narrowly escaped being henceforth known as Bad Barber Brian), was keen to talk about pocket knives, and see what I had with me :)

Just having a scone with my afternoon cuppa

Can I ask you guys, how come some A. Wright & Son lambfoot knives have "REAL LAMB FOOT" etched on the blade whereas others don't? I can't figure out the answer myself and unsolved mysteries like this irks me more than they should.

It's sad, right.
You just get used to them being back, and...
Great picture, Todd. 🤠

Sounds way better than the lady that does mine at Super Cuts... she just wants to talk about her kids.
