Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

When it comes to cutting something though, 90% of the time, it's my Lambsfoot I pull out, and on the occasions I use another knife, I often wish I'd used my Lamb. Such a great all-round pattern
As discussed here many a time, that was my introduction and affection for the Lambsfoot and other one that can't be mentioned here.:rolleyes:. They were/are the most user friendly working knife that can handle nearly all jobs, ease of sharpening and maintenance are just other bonus's for the Lambsfoot.
As i am getting used to using my new phone will have to rehash a photo, and what better photo to rehash than the old Spam Slicing Test.o_O🤣🤣🤣🤣.

It's a new year, but I haven't changed much - still about a week behind at all times! 🤓

Happy New Year Guardians !

All the Best for 2022

Happy new year’s Guardians. 😊View attachment 1712978
Best wishes for 2022, Todd! Your groovy Pere David lambsfoot is quite striking!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I was just about to say the very same. Great minds think alike. Have a good and safe one everyone.☺️.

Hoping this year is a good one for you "on the bottom of the world", Leon; couple of fine photos!:cool::thumbsup:

Evocative pic, Jer! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

I hope y'all are having a wonderful New Year weekend.
It got kind of cold last night. Well, cold for my neck of the woods any way. So Jake went out to play on the ice.

I hope '22 is good to you! That Jake is one cool customer!!:cool::cool:

I don’t go back to work til Monday. Carrying my HHB, it’s such a classic knife. Hope you all are enjoying 2022 so far!

Your rosewood HHB looks great on the split wood, Taylor! Hope your COVID symptoms are not very severe and don't last long; memorable way to start the New Year, I suppose!:thumbsup::cool:

Rosewood on wicker and patina on lambsfoot - these are a few of my favorite things!:thumbsup::cool:
(Are you familiar with the old musical The Sound of Music, José? 🤓 )

Got chilli on the stove ;)

That chili looks a treat, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup: A later post suggests you made it with some substantial "kick" to it? That's the ticket for January! 🤓

One of my favorite lambsfoot photos of all time, José!:cool::thumbsup:

Well.....#@%₩...
I had a multi-quote going, then it all disappeared!😬🤬

I'll just say I've enjoyed reading posts, and thanks for the kind greatings back! (Although we may have gone amiss with the whole bean in the chili thing🤣)!

So game night with Big Bagpipes Black Betty.

Good to see you here, Dennis! I hope 2022 turns out to be a rewarding year for you!:cool::thumbsup:
I've been having a problem with multi-quotes disappearing for a few months now. It doesn't help that I'll collect the quotes over a day or two and then not comment on them until the next day. I'm wondering if the problems for me is that I used my laptop in the classroom every day for the class I was teaching, and I plugged in an HDMI cord to send out put to a projector. Each time I plugged in the cord (i.e., once a day) my screen would go totally "rainbow snow" before it came back to normal, and I wonder if loss of multi quotes was related to that electronic glitch somehow. Since the class ended in mid-December, I don't think I've lost a set of multi quotes, even if I "sit on it" for several days.

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing well, and getting through the week OK. Crazy Covid rates here, well over 1,000,000 new reported cases in the past week (more than 2M having to self-isolate), 10,000 hospitalisations, and nearly a thousand deaths  Looks like it's going to continue getting worse too :( More than 50,000 new cases being reported still each day in the US, so I hope you're all staying safe and keeping well. I know a couple of people who have it locally, but neither has had to go into hospital fortunately. Energy bills are sky-rocketing here too, along with food prices. I'm keeping my Lambsfoot close for when the zombies start appearing  Another cold day here, but no rain, and I'll be going out for a walk later, to pay my electricity bill  Have a good day Guardians

3oWeHeG.jpg
Yeah, the new case numbers in the US (and in Michigan where I live) are higher than they've ever been during the whole pandemic, although the fatality rate seems lower than it has been during other "surges". Rather discouraging start to the year, since we have vaccines that are amazingly effective at mitigating effects of the virus.
But a good set of "gap gauges" makes everything look a little brighter! 🤓:cool::cool:

Good morning Guardians, hope everyone is doing well. Still getting the Christmas decorations put away and getting our home back in order from the holidays and I learned that my brother-in-law and his wife and her sister are coming in for 5 days. It's going to be a busy few days. I'll be using my HHB to cut up some boxes, etc.

Some of those back-street places have the best food! :D There's a Middle-Eastern place in Leeds, which is an absolute dump, but the food is superb :D

(Just to qualify my first statement, a lot of those places will also make you ill too! :D ;))

My brother did warn me of the potential for gastrointestinal distress the first time we ordered from the kebab place, especially if you had the spicy sauce. Of course, the spicy sauce was the best part. 😁

Yesterday's walk. The White House is England's ?third highest pub.

Nice photos, David! Was it the highest pub in England where some folks got snowed in for a few days a month or two ago?

Sorry to hear about your job. 🙁 Hope everything works out ok.

My wife was opening birthday presents and one was in an Amazon box with some pretty hefty packing tape. I pulled the knife out of my pocket and preceded to cut the tape. About half way through the job, I put that knife back in the drawer and grabbed my Lambsfoot off my desk... Ripped right through that tape it did. 😁

I hate that tape Amazon uses; the fibers in it seem to be hard on knife edges. I usually just punch my Amazon packages open. 😁

By the way, JohnDF JohnDF , my wife and were planning on going to the local Grumpy Mule after you posted about it here (we are very close to Sac State), but they were closed over break, and now we have the new surge happening. We hope to make it over there soon, so we can pick up a Yorkshire coffee mug or two. Thanks for letting us know about that!

My ebony Wright riding herd and making sure these other tools stayed in line for my annual tree pruning today.

That's a great pic :) I enjoyed your post in the EDC thread too, it looks like you did a fair amount of work :) You have some beautiful fruit trees, those lemons are incredible :)

Lam Jack is looking good buddy :)
Doing great. Don’t have anymore symptoms, maybe a slight stuffed up nose. But staying in the bedroom and separated just to be safe. That part sucks, but I don’t want my kids or wife getting the bug.
That's excellent news Taylor :) I hope you're fully clear soon :)
I didn't carry a Lambsfoot today.
:oops::oops:o_O
But here is a another of Jake on the ice.

That's a shame Tyson, hope you can make it soon :) Stay safe

Good morning Guardians, I hope that everyone is having a good weekend. I have some housework to do, and a bunch of emails to catch up with, but I'm really not getting enough fresh air at the moment, due to a combination of the appalling weather we've been having, the climbing Covid infection rate, and a hacking (non-Covid) cough, which makes folks look at me in terror! I have to say that, after 2 years of it, I've got rather tired of just tramping the neighbourhood streets, but need to motivate myself to get out for a walk, when it's not raining cats and dogs. Enjoy your Sunday everyone, and I hope you find something enjoyable to do :) Treating myself to a Double Lambsfoot Day, though I suspect my Hartshead Barlow will be doing most of the cutting, since it always comes to hand ;)

Sorry they were closed for you.
Hopefully the new variant will slow down for you too.
I plan on having my boy bring me back some coffee when he comes home again. 🤠

Beautiful Lambsfoot, Jer. 🤠

Good Morning Guardians
I spent most of yesterday celebrating my wife's birthday and house hunting.
We are trying to decide between enlarging our current house, or selling it and buying a new one.
On one hand, remodeling is a nightmare. But on the other hand, moving is a nightmare... Lol 🤣
It's a constant cycle of "I love the house but hate the location" or "I love the location but hate the house". 🤪

LOVE this pic   It's funny that those old-style pencil-sharpeners are made from magnesium. I wish I'd known that at school, could have had a lot of fun! :D ;)

Remodeling is a hassle especially when the contractor and subs don’t show up when they are supposed to. I bet it’ll be even more so now with materials in short supply. Good luck with your decision John.
