I know what I'm asking for if I ever get the chance to visit. 😁
Very interesting find, Jack. 🀠
Sounds like it turned into a good day for you after all. 🀠
May I suggest an Airstream?
I'm doing a house remodel, I can't afford an Airstream now. 🀣

The Eye of Sauron looks superb, David, and among a variety of stouts I got as Christmas gifts recently, the Russian Imperials are my favorites, I think (although many of them are a little "higher octane" than I prefer πŸ€“ ).:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks GT. Aye Russian Imperials are a tad robust but they certainly keep you warm.

What a beautiful lambsfoot; a coke bottle lambsfoot.

Saturday morning here, been away from the Guardians for a few days, thought i would check in to see if the loading/site issues have been resolved. Went straight to 522 Error Timed Out, all my connections have a green tick, big red cross on Host Error Problem. I know one thing, if i'm p----d off there must be plenty others. Won't be paying for a membership for this b------t.
522 city were I am to. Along with the orange 3 bar dance whenever you 'like' a post, the blue circle of hell when going through pages, and trying to post replies is a bit of a chore as well.

Good morning Guardians, we have a storm here at the moment, Storm Malik, it's a British storm, not one of the terrifying events some of you poor folks have to contend with, but they're still promising winds of up to 80mph. It was blowing so hard at 4am, about 50mph I understand, I gave up trying to get back to sleep, and made a cup of tea. Still breezy now, but it seems to have quietened down a bit. Hoping the worst is past, as I don't want the double-decker bus blowing over, as it makes its way to Harrogate! ;) Have a good Saturday everyone :) Got my Hartshead Barlow back in my pocket

Blowing a bit of a hoolie over here to though it sounds like your stronger over your way. Been mild here though.

My first call was the antique centre, where I picked up this old gas-fitters tool. I knew what it was because I was asked to research one for someone a few years back.

What a great and unusual catch. I wonder if there's still any use for them.

Orvis are closing down their UK clothing stores, so I called into the Harrogate branch, and picked up a comfortable bush shirt. I was going to buy a Barbour pullover, but they were less than half as thick as the one I bought from there a few years back :(

I didn't know Orvis was closing it's stores Jack. I guess thats 'because of Covid'.
If your after a good (very) warm sweater I say ditch Barbour and go for one of these. I bought my Guernsey about 12 years ago and it still looks great and I reckon it'll outlast me. I've just looked at the Barbours and depending which one your looking at there doesn't seem to any difference in price.

I also bought one of these about 6 years ago. Bloody warm; I can see why RAF aircrew and RN crew wore them. Just the sort of thing to keep you warm when being hunted by U-Boat Wolfpacks.

Pics from a walk on Thursday. Combs Moss in the county of Derbyshire.

That's good David, I think the worst of it was overnight here

I guess all the taps, screwdriver, and die still work, but I don't know if there's any use for them now. Imagine what it was like when gas supplies were first being connected though

Yes, a trader in the market let me know. Apparently they're just going to concentrate on fly-fishing tackle over here from now on, I guess it was an international decision. I like their stuff, but it's very pricey, and they were very incompetent to deal with as a company over here. I'd have spent more money with them if I could have got on their mailing list, which didn't seem much to ask. My girlfriend, who had never spent a penny with them couldn't get OFF their list!

Thanks for those links David, I'm grateful. The Barbour sweater I bought a few years back is incredibly warm, it has to be really cold for me to wear it. The wool is really thick. I got it for Β£50 about 5 years back, half-price. I don't know how much the ones they had on sale today were, but there was nothing to them. That company have gone to the dogs I think :(

Great to get out to Derbyshire my friend, I do miss not being in close proximity to it. I've just booked a couple of nights at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in Castleton for May

Great to see your ebony 2018 Jer :)

Thank you for the kind words Bill :) It's certainly been a blowy day, and the wind has been cold too. Lots of big branches down, but nothing else, so far, where I am, thankfully. I expect a few folks have lost slates off their rooves. It's worse further north :(

Magical photo my friend, that's a beautiful spot :) Strong showing for Ebony today :)

That's rotten John :(

Thanks buddy, I had a pretty good day despite the weather :)

62,000 still without power in Scotland Todd :( Thank you my friend, nice to see your Pere David Lamb :)

You folks are busy beavers when it comes to your homes! :D Sounds like a pretty good project John, keep us posted :)

Good as ever my friend :)

Hope everyone is having a great day :) I called in for a coffee and a croissant in my local cafe, before catching the bus to Harrogate, which has to be one of the most scenic journeys in Yorkshire - spectacular countryside, deer, red kites, all sorts of other wildlife, a castle, and you get a great view from the top deck

I was hoping to get an all-day breakfast somewhere, but Harrogate is a swanky place, and all the restaurants and eateries were packed anyway. I settled for a takeaway snack, and then called into my favourite Harrogate watering-hole for a pint, before returning home

Harrogate Tap?

Good evening Guardians! I was hoping that someone here could recommend a knife maker on the forum who’d be willing to modify a couple of my lambsfoot to EO and if it’s a good idea to even attempt. I’m beginning to find it more and more difficult to open a few of my knives with stouter pulls with arthritis developing in both of my hands. Thanks!
